Totally love this place! It is small and decorated very tastefully. There are beautiful dark red cloths draped on the ceilings, abstract expressionist art on the walls and wood tables. The servers dress in jeans and red hoodies for a real casual feel. The menu is awesome. The menu consists of salads, sandwiches and small plates. The sandwich menu is amazing! Tonnnns of different choices from Pesto French Dip, Lemon Tarragon chicken salad croissant, and Pulled pork. I had a sandwich called ‘The Southerner with pulled chicken, pimento cheese, sprouts, tomato, and bacon on a Gambino roll. Delicious! Super soft and juicy. I had coleslaw for a side and it was perfect. Everyone else was really happy with their food too. If i lived closer, i would go here a lot! Asheville is lacking a restaurant like this!

My husband and I stopped here for lunch as they were opening. The place looks cool with the decorations and décor. We were disappointed by the wait staff. Thy were not busy but we had to wait a long time for everything including refills. The food all sounds awesome in the menu but it was just ok. It’s probably a cool place to come with friends and drink, maybe we just hit it on an off day. They have outdoor seating which is always nice in Reynolda Village. We will probably try it again.

Great Sunday afternoon lunch spot! I had been wanting to stop by ever since I saw they serve $ 1 mimosas on Mondays. So yesterday for lunch I suggested it to my husband. When we arrived it just started getting busy but even with the wait the customer service was excellent and we did not mind one bit. I ordered the $ 4 Bloody Mary special and it was great! For lunch I got the chicken bowl, which was chicken salad on a lettuce with tomatoes and huge cucumbers with pita slices on the side. It was more than enough and tasted fresh and delicious. My husband got the southerner per suggestion from out great waiter and he really enjoyed it. I ended up taking half of my salad home and will be eating it for lunch today! Now I just have to return for that mimosa special with a few girlfriends and explore the rest of what their menu offers! See y’all soon

I had not been here in a while — not since ownership changed. I was very pleased to see that the kitchen area no longer seats people, when I had gone in the past and ate in the kitchen area I always left smelling like the kitchen. I stopped by for a light dinner and a glass of wine. I had the smoked trout salad with their champagne vinaigrette and it was fantastic! I love smoked anything but the trout with the figs and the pickled onions was just wonderful, as was the house made dressing. Of course the wine was also delish :). I ate at the bar and it was a rainy Monday night when Wake was out on break so I can’t really comment on their service as it was a slow night but the bartender was very nice and friendly and appropriately attentive. Only marginal comment was that it was cold in the dining room but it is an entirely tiled room — floor, walls and ceiling and as I said it was a rainy night in December, maybe up the heat a bit in there? I look forward to coming back and trying out more items if I can tear myself away from the smoked trout salad!

Nice place for an appetizer and a cocktail. We sat inside but next time I think I’ll sit outside. Service was just okay. Diane

Silo is a fun place with lots of choices– you pretty much can’t go wrong. Crab dip: Delicious. The Southerner with pimento cheese, awesome. Their homemade pesto– yes please. Crowded and a bit loud inside, feels like they’ve already outgrown this Reynolda Village location but food is worth checking out and warm days on the patio are nice. I was happy with the wine choices too. Looking forward to returning and trying new things

Very charming wine-coffee-tea-beverage etc. joint at Reynolda Village. If you are not a local and are a first-time visitor, the Village is a little disorienting, with lots of different buildings. Silo has charming service and a great location, with great al fresco outdoor seating. Service is terrific. I know it is intangible — but I really liked the vibe from the wait staff: they are happy to see you, and that makes you happy. Thank you. We will be back soon.

Bringing my review of Silo up from two stars since they apparently have new ownership and the service is much improved. Among the three restaurants in Reynolda Village, Silo is now our go-to place for a beer and bite to eat. The indoor and outdoor dining options are nice so you can choose depending on the weather. We always feel we have a lot of choices when we eat here — from the range of sandwiches, to the daily flatbread, to salads. It’s amazing how much of a difference management can make. Anyone who had a bad experience with slow service and kitchen disorganization at the old Silo should give it another try. I’m glad I did.

Silo is my go-to lunch place since it’s so close to work. Whenever my co-workers want to go out for lunch, it’s usually to Silo since we can walk there. I’m a fan. They have a great selection of standard menu sandwiches and salads with some additional specials that spice things up a bit. Plus, they offer gluten-free bread… bonus! They have some nice outdoor seating; since Silo is in a prime location in Reynolda Village, it’s a great place to take in the beauty of nature.

So good that I visited twice in one weekend. I was in town on business and several of my colleagues went here for lunch Saturday. Antipasto was great, as were all of the salads and chicken bowl we had. So good, in fact, that I went back on Sunday by myself. I had the artichoke crab dip with toasted pita. It was awesome!!! This is going on my list of places to visit whenever I’m in the local area.

Silo is probably one of the best hidden gems in Winston. I had«The Southerner» and it was absolutely delicious. Probably one of the few times I’ve actually«cleaned my plate». The service was great. Our waitress was very nice and extremely helpful when it came to recommendations. The ambiance is what really makes the whole place, sitting out on the patio is fantastic.

First of all, I work in the Village so I eat here all the time. But those days have come to an end. Since the change in ownership, this place has progressively gone downhill. It doesn’t really make sense, either, since King’s is one of my favorite restaurants, and I’ve heard nothing but great things about Willow’s. Anyways, the place is consistently overcrowded with waitstaff who don’t know anything that’s going on half the time, and the quality of the food, in my opinion, has gotten a little sloppy. The last two sandwiches I have ordered have been burnt to the point where they were inedible and I ended up tossing out a $ 10 sandwich. I will say that the waitstaff, even though they are bumbling, are nice for the most part, but there used to be 3 servers at any given time and I don’t really think any more than that is necessary. The place is tiny and now it’s just overcrowded.

Silo is one of my favorite spots in Winston! Whenever I can’t land on where to go, Silo is always in the back of my mind. It is a great place to grab a beer and sit outside with some friends on a warm night. They also have fantastic sandwiches and good sides as well. Silo’s outdoor patio area is what makes it great. In my opinion, it is the best place to have an outdoor meal in Winston. They always either have some nice relaxing music playing or live music outside. There is a large amount of seating out there and it is right in the middle of Reynolda Village. I’ve actually never sat inside because I just love the vibe of the patio so much. Silo’s sandwiches are great. My go to is absolutely«The Southerner» which comes with pulled rotisserie chicken, pimento cheese, sprouts, tomato & peppered maple smoked bacon. It is so good when it comes out hot and fresh. I also enjoy«The Pesto Chicken» and«The Roasted Turkey Club.» You can get these options as either a panini or a wrap. In my experience, the sandwich always comes with more filling. They seem to skimp on the wraps. They also have very good sides. My favorites are the cole slaw, tomato cucumber salad, and the quinoa salad. I also branched out and got the smoked trout salad one night, and I would highly recommend that. The beer selection at Silo is also very good. They have a good mix of craft beers that they rotate in and out. They also have a good selection of NC beers. I believe they just started selling beer to go as well. The service here is normally excellent, but it is very inconsistent. I have had experiences with some of the best service you can receive, but I’ve also had experiences that make me want to pull my hair out and leave without tipping. The inconsistency is the only reason that this place does not get 5 stars from me. Silo is the perfect place in Winston to go if you want to sit outside and enjoy a beer on a warm day. Also great to go and see some relaxing live music while enjoying a nice dinner. I recommend walking off some of the food you just ate in the surrounding Reynolda Village. Also a quick walk to the Reynolda House. Silo is one of Winston’s best.

This place was fantastic! Three stars kind of had me skeptical but after reading the reviews I could tell that the low reviews are people who have no concept of non-corporate restaurants. I went with a work colleague of mine for lunch and saw that it was busy. Things took a little bit of time to get to me but I wasn’t expecting fast food. The food was excellent! I had the beefy boy sandwich with tomato cucumber salad and was very impressed. Since I enjoyed my meal so much I opted for dessert, which was probably the best idea I had that day. The caramel cheesecake rocked my world and elevated me to a new level of bliss previously unbeknownst to me. Service was great, just busy, and everyone there was willing to help, not just our server. I will be going back

Went in with some coworkers as I was traveling for work. Good food — easy atmosphere, just watch your credit card. What they charged me was NOT what I tipped. The waitress over tipped herself and now I have to dispute it with my bank. Will not be back when I am in Winston.

I enjoyed my lunch here. It was just a sandwich but it had lots of flavor. El Monte Cristo had a ton of serrano ham and manchego cheese and black berry jam. The wine was served in a little«jelly» glass and reminded me of drinking wine in the small little Italian villages without stemware. Unlike some of the earlier reviewers, I experienced prompt, courteous, and attentive service. And for a sandwich, fresh fruit, and a glass of wine I only paid $ 13. I thought it was great and I plan on going back again!

I had lunch here with my dog one weekday afternoon. We had to wait a few minutes before a host came and sat us. The waitress was very friendly and made suggestions. I got their sandwich with roasted chicken and pimento cheese with a side of tomato and cucumber salad. The salad was okay I could have used a little more vinegar in the dressing. The parts of the sandwich were great but when you put them together something wasn’t quite right. The bacon, pimento cheese, chicken, and bread, were all delicious on their own but as a sandwich something was off. The highlight was the dessert; it sounded very simple but it was very delicious and decadent. I tried the smore brulee which came with graham crackers to dip into the ganache and marshmallow topping. It was great but way more than one person could possibly eat. I took the rest home with me. They have a water bowl and dog treats for pets which was nice. I would definitely eat here again I would just order something different as my entrée.

I ordered the«Southerner» sandwich, which was a chicken, bacon, and pimento cheese sandwich. It was among their lower-priced fares, weighing in at $ 10 plus drink and tip. Unfortunately, I found the chicken to be quite distastefully dry, which could’ve been mitigated in part by the pimento cheese, but I was disappointed that it featured the thinnest possible layer of this southern staple. The bacon was surprisingly flavorless, and I wrongfully assumed that, when I ordered a side of chips, they would be house made; instead, they were simply Lays Wavy chips from a bag. Even the tea was too sweet, drinking more like a syrup than a refreshing beverage. Only seeing my server twice throughout my meal was also disappointing. $ 15 for lunch isn’t cheap – it’s reasonable for great food and attentive service, but it’s a lot to pay when you leave disappointed. I’d rather patronize the Village Tavern, or another area restaurant where I know my business matters.

I will be back! I came by for lunch and to camp out for a few to work. I knew I wanted to try the Elderflower Champagne Cocktail because well Elderflower is one of my favorite flavors. I was a bit disappointed though, it didn’t taste very Elderflower-ish to me. But, I will say it was still a good champagne drink. As far as food goes I got the small house salad with white bean hummus. The hummus was really great! The salad was your standard house salad. I then got one of the meat and cheese slates with Chorizo and Manchego. I am Portuguese so I have a fond place in my heart for Chroizo. The slate was a really good size and was a delicious combo. My waitress was always there when I needed her but, didn’t seem to mind I was taking my time with lunch. I didn’t go inside but the outdoor seating area is quite large. About half of the tables are basically under the bridge of buildings so it was shady and cool. They do have plenty of tables fully outside with umbrellas for shade. Also came for some of their sandwiches and my dining companion and I were quite happy with our orders. We went with the Mad Hatter and the Monte Cristo. Try out their homemade lemonade it was really good!

What an amazing way to have a meal on a gorgeous day. Their elderflower champagne is light and sweet and truly magnificent. What makes this place really great is their sandwiches and their«grazeables», which are like tapas. My favorite sandwich so far is the popular Cuban Infidel pulled pork sandwich, quite possibly the best sandwich I ever ate. I also like their Badabing panini. The smoked trout crostini or baja shrimp tacos are excellent if you want something light. It’s also very close to Wake Forest so it’s nice to take a stroll in the trail to the campus after a lunch. Also, there are quite a few little shops nearby like the«Nekkid Dave’s» or the«K-9 Doggie Bakery and Boutique». I selfishly hope that word doesn’t get out about how great this place is because it’s so nice to have a quiet, high-quality meal.
