YIKES THEGOOD: Well let me begin with the positives. The coffee is good, the space is roomy and well lit. Thats about it. THEBAD: The service is from a rather apathetic crew who thinks being rude is ‘cool’. Newsflash… it’s not. The baked goods are stale and unmarked. When I asked what something was, I got a answer with a unsure tone, turns out it was wrong(good thing I don’t have allergies) and it was $ 3 for staleness. I was then greeted by the cute dog. I love dogs, i have one. But if he going to be regular in an eatery(state laws anyone?) he should be taught not to beg. THEUGLY: My last visit here meant standing behind someone chatting with the owner. I was very patient and not in a hurry, but given my history here I was thinking ‘here we go again’ The conversation went on for a few minutes as the customer was being helped. The owner looked at me a couple times during the process. As it was my turn at the counter, an employee who was leaving for the day distracted her attention and she turned her back on me without once acknowledging me and preceded to have an impromptu meeting… who’s on the schedule, what needed to be ordered. I thought ok, bad timing… so I waited. and waited and waited. The meeting went on for quite awile until I turned around to leave… as I got to the door I heard ‘Oh I’m Sorry Sir!” I just shrugged my shoulders at her. I have not been back. I’m so glad that MLC has opened so that Winooski has a coffee shop that understands customer service.

This is a beautiful space, and I would love to hang out there more. But they seem to have some arbitrary hours. This weekend I went there to study, was told that they closed at three, and then they just randomly closed at two instead. One time, I went there around 7:30 a.m. on a weekday(normal coffee-drinking time), and they weren’t open yet. The only drink I’ve successfully purchased there(despite a few other tries) was an earl grey iced tea. It was cloudy and had no trace of the characteristic bergamot of earl grey. Not terrible, but not particularly good. I guess I am someone who needs more reliability in a coffee shop.

One time I went into this hot mess of a place. Never again. Seriously. It wasn’t because of the coffee, albeit over priced but nice and strong, but the miserable help! And even more miserable patrons! It seems like having a bad attitude is the hipster way. Anyway, I hope this place does not last because their customer service leaves much to be desired.

This was my second home when i first moved here and needed a place other than my couch to search for jobs. Tasty bagels and muffins, amazing coffee, and a great tea selection. Love this place!

Block Gallery is half coffee shop, half bookstore/art gallery, and 100% hipster. The baristas are fellow Redditors as exemplified by their fine chalkboard art on their sandwich sign. The espresso is good and strong, and comes with obligatory latte art. Since it’s fall, they have delicious pumpkin spice lattes as the special. Now, who needs Starbucks?

The Block Gallery is my favorite coffee shop in the Burlington area. Their coffee is superior, and the atmosphere is very chill. There is plenty of local art to browse through that is frequently refreshed, so it’s like walking into a new shop each time you go in. And the people behind the counter are always friendly.

This is Winooski’s only coffeehouse, and it’s a damned good one. Large, well-spaced tables, free wi-fi, great coffee, friendly staff with some personality. Oh, and, as the name would suggest, it’s a gallery as well. Keeps active locally by displaying artists’ work, as well as making appearances at the the Winooski Farmers Market and even on Google events such as with presidential candidate Gary Johnson. The only real complaint I have, and its a minor one, would be perhaps a better selection of pastries would be in order here.

Great place to do work and enjoy great coffee. The iced coffee has coffee ice cubes, a must have if you want to avoid diluted coffee! Free wireless internet and multiple tables makes this place very inviting for people looking to do work. If you’re a UVM student take the bus, find someone with a car, or choose a nice day and walk over.

The Block Gallery was not to bad on my first visit in. Service: I went in to look for some mugs. I came and found the local artist i was seeking. They had a good amount of mugs to pick from. Prices are not to bad and the place is a pretty good size. The owner was fine on my visit. Not rude or anything. Food and Drink: Sadly I didn’t order anything. Wooden chairs to sit… plus I was in a little bit of a rush. Don’t drink much coffee anyways. Prices: Price’s for the mugs are more than fair. Plus your supporting local here as well. So its a win, win for everyone! Over all: Mugs where solid and great! They made the perfect gift. Next time if I go back I will update my stars. As I was only here for about 10 minutes there isn’t much to say… Other than the wooden chairs gotta go! Nothing more than an avg 3⁄5 for now… Go and support our local artiest! While your at it try the coffee and let me know how it is!

Having lived in Winooski for a few years, I was so excited when someone finally opened a coffee shop. The location is great, and I enjoy the selection of tasty treats and tea. Also, the dog that hangs out there is super cute and friendly. However, it is not a comfortable place to hang out. The chairs are’t comfortable and the acoustics make everyone’s conversations echo throughout. The service is slow, and the owner is rude. She yelled at the employees right in front of me as I was waiting for my coffee. Awkward! A bit overpriced for mediocre coffee. Plus the place always seems to be closed. Closed before 7 on a Friday? Seriously? One last complaint– the internet there is flaky and I’ll lose the signal an annoying number of times.

Great space to grab a latte(and decadent biscotti), meet a friend, and shop for artistic gifts made in vt. Thanks, Block Gallery for being kid– friendly!

Good beer selection, and a really friendly, homey atmosphere. I’m hoping they increase the seating — as it is, it was hard to find a place to just chat with friends, but it’s a lovely big open space, and kid-friendly as well! A nice addition to the ‘noosk.
