My favorite coffees shop! Lovely little place with great service and delicious food. Highly recommend the cinnamon pistachio rolls and the buttermilk donuts!

Light Rail is fantastic. I go here every time I’m in Warsaw. They make great pizza, cheese bread, and have a very nice staff. I strongly recommend if you are in the area.

Are you kidding? Where else would you go to get coffee and a bagel bomb? Or how about the only brink oven pizza in town? This is my favorite place to chill.

BEST. COFFEE. IN. TOWN. Maybe the best coffee in the state. I just got back from a 5,000 mile road trip to the west coast and I never had coffee even close to as good as Light Rail’s. Saturday brunch is memorable. Try to do that. They have EXCELLENT sandwiches made from fresh baked bread and locally sourced veggies and meats. Joel cures and smokes his own meats. The coffee is roasted fresh on-site. Mediterranean style pizzas are also a good lunch option. A bagel bomb or a pistachio cinnamon roll is a good quick thing to grab for breakfast on the way to work.

Best sandwich place in town! Doesn’t have much variety but makes it up with preparation and taste. While in Warsaw it’s visit is a Must for all sandwich enthusiasts

Nice lunch on a rainy day. Their menu is small but what we had was very good, especially their tomato basil soup. We stopped for lunch in late April on a cool rainy Saturday and found the place amazingly busy. Nice bread, great coffee. The smoked turkey sandwich was ok but just not our favorite meat; the tomato soup was wonderful, tasted very homemade.

Delicious! I had the bacon & turkey sandwich. Everything is homemade! The loaf bread is good, the aioli & avocado spread is amazing and the meat is not dry. The sandwich was fresh and had lots of flavor. I also ordered a double shot small(unfortunately their small is only a single shot) cappuccino with almond milk. It was very good as well.

First of all, let me say that when it comes to pastry, bread, donuts and the like, this place is awesome. Their sweets are very tasty and their breads are great. I’ll follow by saying that I really want to love this place. I’ve been here a few times, had their pizzas, sandwiches, and soups. The love ends with their baked goods. Both of the soups I’ve had were very watery and lacked flavor. Almost as if they are trying to make a little bit go a long way. Their pizza crust is very nice, but the flavor that they get out of seemingly gourmet ingredients leaves much to be desired. The sandwiches have potential to be really good as their breads are nice. However, the meats lack that savory flavor that I’m looking to find. With a little refining, this place could be a four star, but the lack of flavor just leaves me hanging.

Whenever I travel north from my home in North Manchester, I try to swing a bit to the west to travel through Winona Lake, just so I can stop by Light Rail. My hope is that the timing can include lunch. These folks really know what they are doing with food and coffee. It’s evident that the care a great deal about the taste of the food they produce, mindful of source, choices, preparation and presentation.

Last year, this café was called the 1000 Park Avenue Café and Bakery. This year, the name changed to the Light Rail(I haven’t a clue why). The only thing I know is that the ownership changed hands, but happily, the same quality I remember from last year pervades every single item on the menu this year. Actually, the coffee is BETTER than I remember because the espresso shots are pulled rather than automatically generated by one of those fancy, no-brainer machines. Beans are roasted in the back and are the same ones you can enjoy at the Cerulean Restaurant(if you are in Winona Lake, GOGOGO to the Cerulean!). Menu items include breakfast items and lunch sandwiches/salads and pizzas, all of which are fresh and tasty. Baked goods are large and yummy and leaves you wanting more! The pistachio dusted cinnamon roll is particular good, as is the blueberry scone. Service is friendly and the overall vibe is really chill. Get a punch card to earn some free drinks! So glad there is a place like this in sleepy Winona Lake!

I’ve been addicted to this place since it opened. Friendly staff that quickly knew my order every time, I guess that’s what I get for going in their several times a week. Their latte’s are so tasty! Their breakfast menu is great, my favorite is the homemade sausage with egg biscuit. I also really enjoy their pizza at lunch too!

what a gem of a coffeeshop. i haven’t tried too many items but the small offering of pastry items seems really well crafted and unique(pistaccio shavings on cinnamon rolls, for instance).
