Quaint diner with a friendly, family staff. Delicious omeletes served with tomato slices and toasts. Very children friendly, easy parking. The server(son?) asked us how everything was and ensured we had enough napkins for the messy toddler.

All we had was a coffee and piece of chocolate cake but I loved it. Service was excellent and I plan to go back for breakfast(and revise my review accordingly).

It was a little bit like Seinfeld. The diner, the booth, 4 adults, one gal, three guys, two who used to be an item, one tall guy with curly black hair, one about George’s height, but thinner, and a most engaging server named Van. And lot’s of stories with a little inappropriate conversation. No-one here was«banned» or asked to leave, though. Boris is an attractive little diner with a typical diner menu of breakfast items, omelets and eggs, sandwiches simple, deluxe, triple decker, plus the hot open-faced varieties with mashed potatoes and vegetables, The omelets and egg dishes are all around $ 4.00−6.50. The sandwiches $ 3.25 –7.50, so very reasonable prices. We all ordered sandwiches of different varieties, and everyone was happy and sated. One sandwich was pretty unique. A triple decker combining BLT, and hamburger patty and a fried egg. Kind of like breakfast, lunch and dinner in one sandwich. Very fresh and crispy, tasty fries. We were the only ones in there mid-afternoon on Sunday, and we learned on exiting and seeing a «closed at 2PM» sign which meant they probably held the place open for us instead of saying they were closed and kicking us out. The staff is mom and pop, and the son is the server. Couldn’t have been more delightful or hospitable. I thought at one point that Van was going to join us in the booth. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. He was a very engaging and fun guy. The décor is perfect with booths along the wall and tables along the other side. All in that 1950’s chrome, red-and-white vinyl style, and nicely understated. Authentic vs. kitschy. The furnishings would have fit perfectly in the Modernism Art Show we had just taken in here in Winnetka. Great little North Shore diner here, if you are ever in the neighborhood. You might bump into Newman there.

The food is really yummy, but not the best for a cute diner. The owners are the best, just so helpful and since I am a picky guy, they got every order righty for the past few years. Wheelchair accsesibility is great, entrance is very winde and simple to get into, and the whole stor is. The food is quite reasnoble.

Really nice people own this restaurant, they always talk to us like we’re old friends of theirs. The food is not exceptional, but if you go in expecting standard diner food you probably won’t be disappointed(just don’t order a burger unless you like it well, well, well done). Good malts.

Absolutely everything you’d expect from a diner named Boris. I wandered in with a friend on a random Friday afternoon and it was deserted, but the old woman in charge took great care of us. I’ve had my fair share of greasy diner food(and I totally love it) and this isn’t the best I’ve ever had, but it’s pretty good and the price is right. Plus, how can you not love a place named Boris?

If you want a great diner type place to eat, this is the way to go! It is run by Boris, his wife, and occasionally their son, who treat every customer like family. The conversation is what is so great here. You shouldn’t go here if you are trying to eat and run. A good afternoon leisurely lunch is the way to go. And the fries are Great! I’ve known these guys for over a decade, and they are wonderful.

Fabulous omelettes, chocolate malts, hamburgers and fries! We used to live across the street from Boris’ and ate there almost every weekend. I really miss him and his awesome food. Very reasonable, too.
