As I have said before, all Subways and all sub chains are more-or-less the same. If you order a footlong(is that still a thing?) Subway grinder it will be pretty much the same from restaurant to restaurant. So, what does the center-of-Windsor location have going for itself? It’s next to a supermarket and a hardware store and a library. It’s close to the town green. That’s all great. BUT the service at this location is fairly awful. I ordered 3 grinders for my family and, at the counter I have encountered the most dis-enthused middle-aged African-American female employee I have even seen. She yelled ‘Welcome to Subway’ at me from clear across the room, even though I had barely entered the store.(Quick hint to the subway corporate office folks: Yelling at customers with pre-packaged greetings from 30 feet away often elicits the opposite response from the customer than what you might think. I don’t want to hear«WELCOMETOSUBWAY» clear from across the room. It comes across as phony and disingenuous. Stop it! Who is the moron who came up with this idea??) I don’t know how to describe the employee-customer interaction other than to say that I wish a robot were taking my order. It would have been more personable. Did I interrupt her conversation with her co-worker? Was I wearing the wrong type of jeans? Was it too early in the day to order lunch? I have no idea. I just felt that she didn’t want to be there taking my order, and that I should somehow be doing something else than ordering lunch. It was awful. As far as the food is actually concerned, it doesn’t matter that the grinders came out just fine, since I’m fairly particular with what & how I order. I won’t be back. I felt like I was doing the employee a giant inconvenience by ordering sandwiches at noon on a Saturday. There was NOBODY in the restaurant when I arrived, and nobody sitting in the seats eating lunch. Now I know why. Subway — please pick your employees better. Also, almost $ 7 for a BMT is outrageous.

I usually love Subway if I’m going to do fast food. But I still expect some value for my money. I asked for a wrap with chicken, cheese, spinach, onion, peppers. I got 1 scoop(not tightly packed either) of chicken. No cheese, no spinach, no peppers, but I did get onion. So 1 scoop of chicken, a little onion and the wrap for $ 5.05. Didn’t offer a cookie or soda because he was out of everything i wanted. He very politely told me he was out of everything, but I felt he already heated the chicken, so I couldn’t tell him i’m all set. Guess I’m too nice… but I still feel like i got ripped.

This should have been a 4 star review. The dining room is very nice with what looks like new furniture and a nice ceramic tile floor. There is a lot of natural light in the dining room, the staff was pleasant, and the food(yes I know it’s Subway) was very good. I ordered a chopped salad with turkey, lettuce, spinach, and all the fixings. The ingredients were put into a big ceramic bowl then rocked into submission by an arched chopping tool. The salad came out great. Now the reason for the missing 4th star. When I asked my server if she had any diet or low fat dressing she blankly looked at me as If I was from Mars. When I asked her what she had, she just pointed to the squeeze bottles in the case. Not exactly the response I was hoping for. Which tells me they don’t really sell enough of them to know a lot about them, At least she DID know how to make one, and in fairness, she did do a good job of that.
