We were not happy with any aspect of doing business with Event Essentials. Once we ordered and paid a deposit for an amplification system and other decorative items for a wedding, we explored adding chairs for an outdoor wedding as well. That revealed a series of hidden fees such as extra costs for delivering at a specific time versus a 6 hour window. There would have also been extra charges for late pick up after hours which was not revealed initially either. The cost to cancel any items you’ve reserved is dicey and comes at a high cost(your deposit PLUS the entire amount of items that would have been rented). We weren’t sure we’d need the chairs dependent on weather and there was no option to cancel without penalty. We ended up renting the sound system only and ended up picking it up and dropping it off personally. The sound system worked, but it was beat up, buttons were broken, and a speaker stand needed to be altered to make it work. In the end we had music at our event, but the entire experience was frustrating.

Having worked in the rental industry before as well as several other customer service oriented jobs, I have a high level of expectation for professionalism. It seems this company is not entirely on the same page with that concept. Farrah was a delight to work with! She was polite and helpful both in person, over the phone, and via email. However, when she was unavailable to assist, her counter girl lacked a great deal of those qualities. She was curt on the phone and in person. I found her very rude and unaccomodating lacking a general respect that is important when dealing with customers. We drove quite a distance for the rentals for our wedding which was large in part due to my initial interactions with Farrah. Bailey makes me wish I had taken my business elsewhere. My interaction with Andy was two-fold. When we initially arrived to unload our rentals, he was busy on the phone with a non-work related issue and failed to even make a polite gesture such as I will be with you in a moment. His redeeming factor was after dealing with Bailey, he did honor my request to count everything and ensure the accuracy of numbers so we could have our account closed out. The condition of the items we received were fair. I wish the glasses didn’t have as many water stains on them and that the chairs had been a little cleaner but I also know from experience, that things are not always perfect. I would most likely rent from them again but they do need to train their employees on the importance of professionalism!

So they charge you the full amount but refund the difference when you return the bouncy house in dry and satisfactory condition. This would have been nice to know when I made the initial arrangements. The guys helping me unload it from my car were nice and helpful. I would reconsider using them again.

Wow. Don’t rent from event essentials. They are not consumer oriented at all. I called to try to get some last minute items for a party I was planning. Since I was unable to meet their minimum order amount, they wanted to overcharge me for the item I requested. When I spoke with the manager asking for her to help me out given the circumstances, she rudely told me that she was unable to help me. I would not recommend renting anything from these people after this service. I have worked with other rental places in the past(Capitol City Tent Rental in McFarland), and they were outstanding. I would recommend them for sure!
