We come to Don’s for breakfast. They have a huge menu and there are specials every weekend that are great. They have every variation of Eggs Benedict you can imagine. My favorite is with the corned beef hash. They make great pancakes, waffles, and anything else you could want. The place is always packed. Service is great.

the reviews on Unilocal ran hot & cold, and we were in the area, so we went out on a limb and gave it a shot. The best thing I can say is that it wasn’t the worst breakfast I’ve ever had. We were immediately concerned when we saw the omelette with fake cheese being served to a table as we were seated. Both of our sensors went off, but we stayed — we were really hungry. My wife got the veggie egg bake — scrambled eggs with a couple of veggies — tomatoes, onions, maybe some spinach? No toast, so we asked about it, she said it would be right out. I got the Irish eggs benedict — the corned beef hash was obviously from a can, and I think the hollandaise probably was too. The home fries weren’t horrible, and maybe saved my breakfast. My coffee cup sat empty for a long time, and we never saw the toast until the eggs were gone. Avoid it if you can…

Well that was not good. We thought it was promising because there was a long wait. Long waits can mean good food. We were seated and looked at the menu. Hubby has lots of dietary issues so asked for either yogurt or fruit, of which they have neither. So he wasn’t able to order anything. He drank his coffee and watched me eat. I ordered The Eatery, which is a huge breakfast of pancakes or French toast, two eggs, two bacon, two sausage, hash browns and toast. We waited a half hour or more for the food to be served. I thought it was because they were so busy, but I think they had made a mistake in serving because the eggs, potatoes and meats were all perfectly COLD. They are not for a lack of wait staff, so I’m not sure what happened. I ate 30% of everything. The potatoes were way undercooked, as was the sausage, so I barely ate either of those. The bacon tasted ok and the pancakes were ok, until I got to one of those weird bites that«tastes like the kitchen.» You know what I mean… like an old refrigerator. To top it off, I went to use the restroom and promptly broke my ass. The floor was slick. At first I thought it was recently washed, but I put a square of toilet paper on the floor and realized it was greasy with oil. They must wash the bathroom floor with the same mop from the kitchen. Um… gross? I told the cashier upon leaving that I slipped in the bathroom but wanted to make her aware as there are many elderly patrons and I didn’t want them getting hurt. She was very nice and said someone would look into it. Our server was also very nice… but the meal was cold and terrible, lack of food options were terrible and me breaking my ass in a greasy bathroom was not enjoyable. We won’t be returning.

One constant in our food life; our weekend brunch spot! Delicious filling omlettes and amazing coffee! And what a friendly atmosphere!

Not a fan. Trying to find a comfortable place in Windsor with half-way decent food is nearly impossible. I usually take a coupon and visit East Windsor or Enfield. Manchester has a few nice options too. I agree with another review, that the cleanliness is lacking. The staff is nice, but the food is the deal breaker. I work in the area, tough to find a good meal here.

* Lacks Two Very Important Characterists: Consistent Quality & Cleanliness in Food Prep(Its Grill, At Least) * I want to like this place. I really do. They employ lots of local, ver nice people. It seems to be locally– and family-owned and run. There are tables outside spring-fall, which is a nice little extra. It’s in a historic part of Windsor, and given that Whistle Stop has gone to pot(no pun intended) in terms of its service, atmosphere and food quality, I want to say: Go Dom’s!!! But… I’ve eaten here three times over the past year or so. At the table I was seated at this morning, the smell of bathroom chemicals and fresheners were overwhelming. Bön appetite! As for the food… I asked, and was told their oatmeal is the real kind — not instant oatmeal. Mine was good, so for that decision(to not use Instant) they get an «A». The hash browns are patties, not bad, not great… good enough for this style of restaurant. But my pancakes were dry, and tasted only of aging grill grease and burnt bacon bits. Wanting to like Dom’s, I tried to convince myself, «It was just that last bite,» but as I continued eating, tasting gross debris from a dirty grill, I thought I was going to gag. I hope it’s only because it was a busy Saturday, because I want to like Dom’s, and because there’s really nothing good in Windsor in terms of dining. * Phil

Had the Mexican omelet. It was great. The only negative was my wheat toast order got mixed up with my friends rye order. Otherwise a great place to go for work during lunch hour. Service was quick. Food came out super quick. Definitely going back!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. With that being said if you leave home and come here you will find that saying is true in a lot of different forms. From awesome omelets to HUGE servings of pancakes they have it all. I have eaten here for at least the better part of 2 years and will continue as long as they serve their famous hearty hash. Check out their daily specials. Breakfast skins are just the tip of the iceberg.

Dom’s did a great job catering our party this weekend. We chose the backyard barbecue and all the food was delicious, all our guests raved about it. It was wonderful to have all the details taken care of. We would recommend Dom’s for a catered party or just having a bite to eat at their restaurant. Thank you Jason and crew!!!

We had breakfast and we’re very picky with the way out eggs are cooked. The omelette and eggs over medium were cooked to perfection. The coffee was fresh, service was excellent, and the atmosphere was nice. We’ll be going again soon! It’s difficult to find a good breakfast place and this place was great!

I only go here for breakfast, which is always good and hearty. They are always packed on the weekends, but do a good job keeping things moving. The Eatery combination item will induce a food coma, in a good way.

Came here because had a half off certificate deal. We tried to order the Cheeseburger Ravioli for an app, but they were all out so we decided to go with the beef quesadilla. It was quite good, and we both commented about how this was the first place we had ever been to that gave an adequate amount of sour cream right off the bat. My lady friend and I split a ham club and a fried hot dog for our lunch. The hotdog was cooked perfectly and the bun was toasted just enough. I was very pleased with the ham club, and also the ample amount of bacon that came on it. The fries were pretty delicious as well. The waitstaff was very attentive and the food came out quickly. Definitely a great place to go for a quick lunch. I know we will be back for those raviolis.

My husband and I went to Dom’s for lunch for the first time the other day. It was pretty good. I had the Chicken Pesto Flatbread with french fries and my husband had the Philly Cheese-steak sandwich. Both sandwiches tasted like pretty average diner food, however, I thought the french fries were exceptional. The waitresses were very friendly & it seems like they have a lot of regular customers. My husband and I walked in pretty hungry though & we waited about a half hour before our food arrived at the table. Decent food for a decent price. We would go back there. maybe to try breakfast. Hopefully, next time the food will come out faster.

Came in here looking for a takeout coffee, but decided to grab some food. It’s a traditional diner inside an old Friendly’s; right inside the Geissler’s parking lot. Dom’s is quite large, clean, and my food came out fast. I ordered the Greek omelet. It came out quick, was a decent size, and was packed with spinach, caramelized onions, tomato, and feta. There was a ton of feta, and that’s really all it takes to keep me happy. On the side, it came with homefries. They were cooked up properly with some onions thrown in. It also came with toast. I’m not commenting on toast. It was toast. All in all, this was a fine experience. The staff was friendly. The food was good and filling. My coffee cup stayed full. I wouldn’t hesitate to come back.

Oh my goodness you have to try the Tenderloin Benedict! It doesn’t get any better than that! This place has a menu dedicated to Benedict, simply amazing.

I dont know why I haven’t stumbled across this breakfast place earlier!!! Hubby and I went on a Sunday morning, place was crowded. He had the meatloaf omnlet, meal. He said it was the best omlet he ever had. It wasnt too«meatloafy». I had the banana walnut pancakes meal, the pancakes are by far the best I have had in the Hartford area. We will defintely be going back.

Visited Dom’s for the first time on my lunch hour today. My first impression was that the inside looked a whole lot bigger than I expected. Dom’s is very much a traditional diner, but is only open for breakfast and lunch. The lunch menu was pretty vast — six big salads in the $ 8-$ 9 range, five appetizers that are pretty adventurous(fried cheeseburger ravioli, tenderloin quesadillas, mac and cheese bites to name a few), five classic blue plate specials for $ 8-$ 9, plus deli sandwiches, custom sandwiches, burgers and hoagies. It’s really a very nice menu. They also had a few blackboard specials — Meatloaf, Swedish Meatballs, and a Hot Pastrami Burger all for $ 7.99. I had a Mediterranean Chicken Salad for $ 8.59. It was a very nice portion of super crisp fresh romaine with grilled chicken, tomatoes, cucumbers, and feta sprinkles. The absolute unquestioned star of this dish was the polenta croutons — crunchy on the outside, but warm and exquisite melt in your month goodness on the inside. THey were fabulous. Service was fine, the meal was fine, the wait for the meal was fine, everything was fine.

Fair omelette… Not special, not bad… Chilli was flavorful… The coffee was terrible. It’s just a mom & pop version of Denny’s — Not that that’s a bad thing, but I won’t be salivating when thinking about my meal here.

A moment of silence for the eponymous Dom who passed away in the summer of 2010… His shoes will be tough ones to fill, but his son, Jason, seems to be up for the task. Things have changed a lot since Dom was running the place, and they’ve had a few big hiccups along the way, but the dust has settled and Dom’s is back with another chapter written in what looks like will eventually be a very long story about a long-standing Windsor tradition. The specials can be interesting. Every now and then I say«screw you» to my endocrine system by gorging on a few thousand calories of apple fritter french toast and then sleeping all day.
