Was interested to when when they first opened up but heard it was bad so never went. Then I heard it got a little makeover courtesy of Chef Robert Irvine so I deiced I’d try to it out. Tried to go there once, called ahead before we left, I live not even 5 minutes away, to make sure they were open and by the time we got there it was closed with not a person in sight. It’s like they got our call that they may get some business that evening and ran. No wonder they are doing so poorly, don’t expect this place to last the next 6 months.

Had brunch here on a Sunday after hearing mixed reviews about this place. The interior is very clean, open, and modern. There is a bar/counter area to sit at with a couple TVs, as well as lots of low tables and high tables. Lots of space, you certainly don’t feel like you are sitting on top of your neighbor. The feel is almost like someone’s contemporary dining room. The menu was different than I had imagined — Eggs Florentine, Crabcake Benedicts, Fritatas, French toast or waffles with fresh fruit. It seemed to be more than just an eggs, toast and homefries kind of menu. That being said, it was a bit more expensive than a diner-type menu, but the food is fresh and plentiful. I ordered the Eggs Florentine — 2 poached eggs sat high on a big fresh pile of baby spinach atop a very large English muffin and dressed with a tasty hollandaise sauce along-side a pile of home-fries. It was very tasty, very fresh, and there was a lot of food. I was impressed — the food looked like some one took time to make it presentable. The home-fries weren’t anything special. My friend had the egg white fritata; it was huge, and filled with fresh veggies. She also got the side of beans, and seemed to enjoy them. The service was fast in the beginning, but the orders took a bit longer to reach the table. However, they were friendly and always made sure your coffee mug was full. The total for the two of us to eat with coffee was around 15 dollars a person with tip — which is quite reasonable for the caliper of food received. Overall, I would come here again for brunch when craving something more than toast and eggs.

Went to the Chatter Box for lunch on a Sunday sad to find out they only do breakfast on Sundays, they were very accommodating, made me a BLT and my daughter, a grilled cheese. My wife had an omelet. The food was fresh and bread was awesome. Good and friendly service. I have to admit we only went after seeing the Restaurant Impossible out of curiosity. We will be back. A little advice for the owners, you need a web site with menu and hours, need to let people know you do dinner.

We returned to the Chatterbox Café with friends for breakfast. We got in quick, and there was no wait. The menu is smaller now, and they recently redecorated, which was a nice touch. Inside was freezing. It’s January. Turn the heat on, gash darn it. Service was slow, food took a good while to come out. Irish bennie was decent. Coffee was good. Refills scarce. Would I return? Maybe– after new management comes in.

The Chatterbox Café opened this week serving breakfast and lunch, open 6AM-3PM daily. On Saturdays and Sundays, it’s breakfast only. I went here for Sunday breakfast around 11:30AM and the place was very busy. There were plenty of staff on hand during this first weekend. The atmosphere inside is casual and modern with a good sized carpeted dining area and a long shiny lunch counter(extra poly finish) with 2 flatscreen TVs. The yellow painted walls have nice décor and framed pictures. I opted to sit at the very shiny lunch counter and went over the menu. The breakfast offerings include eggs, bennies, omelets, frittata, pancakes, French toast, muffins, bagels, and more. «The CB»($ 7.99) is very popular here and includes 2 eggs, 3 pancakes or French toast, bacon, sausage, and home fries(lightly fried). The lunch offerings during the week include sandwiches, wraps, reubens, burgers, salads, soups, appetizers, and kids menu. Some appetizers offered include panko chicken fingers, pan seared tuna, crab cakes, wings, hummus and potato skins. Gluten free breads, heart healthy meals, and vegetarian dishes are served too. I started out with a big cup of coffee($ 1.99) which was good. For breakfast, I got the Breakfast Burrito($ 6.99) which had eggs(I got egg beaters), potatoes, peppers, mushrooms, onions, slice sausage links, & cheddar cheese stuffed in a grilled flour tortilla and topped with sour cream and pico de gallo on the side. The burrito itself tasted decent and messy to eat, but the eggs seemed a bit runny. The service was decent and still a work in progress. The owner was helping out the staff and checking on customers. My waitress was fairly busy keeping an eye out on things and food was out to me in 12 minutes. I did get another big coffee refill only when I asked for one when I received my check. Another diner sitting right next to me had his order mixed up and his food was comped with apologies. Just observing the heavy volume of customers here, the ample staff on hand was doing a pretty good job getting the food out to diners, their first big weekend open. I think this family restaurant should do very well! COMINGSOON: Takeout, espresso, lattes, beer & wine.

CLOSED Jan 2013. Bummer. Apparently there was vandalism/theft and they aren’t re-opening.
