To cut out the confusion, Nunzio’s is located inside the Chalet Fondue. The front of the restaurant seems to be the pizzeria. Went in at 5pm on a Saturday and all three tables were full by 530. The only waitress seemed to be trying really hard but it may have been too much for her. Our pizza came out incorrectly with the wrong toppings. The unfortunate couple who came shortly after us never got their pizza, an hour and half after the order. Pizza, minus the wrong topping, was decent. Eggplant parmigiana wasn’t bad either.

Wow. The pizza at Nunzio’s is amazing. After a long day of driving and hiking, we found this place 1 mile from our B&B and decided to get some take out. I admit I don’t frequent pizza joints due to some lactose limitations, but this is –hands down– the best pizza I’ve had outside of Italy. We ordered a 18″ chicken ranch with bacon specialty pizza, for $ 23 this is pretty good for the quantity(it fed two of us for two day of dinner) and quality(exemplary). The service is ‘OK’, they were very busy with takeouts and took a while to take our order, but the end result of waiting is worth it. Once we got back to our room with our hot and steamy pizza, I took a bite and threw all my concerns about cheese out of the window. 18″ pizza is really ginormous, and they didn’t go light on the toppings either, the entire 254 inch2 of area is evenly piled with sauce and luscious toppings. The dough was of a good thickness and a soft fluff texture, with strength and never airy; the warm ranch sauce was delicious with just the right amount of creaminess and salt; the bacon are broken up into tiny pieces and each piece is a crunchy bite of goodness; the cheese, the cheese is probably the BEST part about the pizza(mozzarella?), soft, creamy texture but breaks easily on bite, the taste was amazing, authentic and full of flavor. Alright, I know I didn’t talk about the chicken, I was so overwhelmed by the taste of the rest of the pizza and all I remember about the chicken is that it went very well with the sauce. It was so good that when I woke up at 3 am, although I know I already stuffed myself too much, I couldn’t resist grabbing another piece before going back to sleep. The great thing is that on the next day, after heating it up in the microwave, it still tasted great!

MAYBE A GREATPLACEFORLOCALSBUT Tourists and Visitors BEWARE. Pizza is Ok as it is really the only pizza joint close enough without going out of the way. While visting we ate in and in addition ordered to our hotel room. Not an honest business for people who are tourists visting this quaint little town in Windham. On both occasions our bill was more than what was expected. Not Nice. We thought maybe it was a mistake but whe the second time we decided to order then we knew it was a rip-off. Buyer beware Pizza is OK, but the hidden charges they tack on to the tourists that visit the area is that of a dishonest business. So if you are visting and want to order pizza, please ask for the detailed charges and make sure they understand how you want your pizza before YOUORDER or Place a Delivery to your hotel or you will end up paying double. The pizza will end up costing you double and they do not follow your insrtuctions on how you like your pizza, nor do they add simple paper plates and napkins that should go without say. So my advice is if you decide to go with NUNZIOS after order basic and ask what it will cost you as they will charge you far more than what you expect and what is on the menu especially when you call for a delivery and to make matters worse take forever that your pizza is very cold and like cardboard. Please make sure you go over your bill before they deliver, or you will pay double and the Pizza DOES come cold — Dominos would be a way better choice and a fraction or less of the cost for a simple pie. I have never encountered such an experience!:((((( Our experience as visitors was not a nice one and the money we spent on one pie could have bought us two dinners plus tip. Buyer Beware, Ask and be precise on even the most basic pizza, So sad that instead of giving visitors a great experience of one of the eateries in this town & taste of the most basic food as pizza, they rip you off. So sad and sorry we patronized this establishment. Should have paid with Credit Card and not CASH. Very greedy and dishonest. Try another place you will not go wrong with this advice.
