One of the more enjoyable places we’ve stayed recently is this single-cabin lodge near Windber, Pennsylvania, up in the Alleghenies. The owner, Ken Davis, has deep roots in the area and is very knowledgeable of its history and geography. The cabin is well-appointed and comfortable, and very private. It sits at the foot of many acres of private hiking trails where you will see deer and other wildlife. The two-room cabin can comfortably sleep 4 and includes a fully appointed kitchen. There were lots of goodies in the fridge, a bottle of wine, lovely blueberry cookies, and we felt immediately at home. And it’s quite a reasonable price for what you get. My wife and I stayed 5 nights so the multi-night discount made it very worthwhile. The only thing that would have improved the experience(for me, since I’m an internet guy) would be wireless connectivity. There was a phone but only local calls permitted there. We will definitely be back!
