Nothing has changed here. Staff are rude and immature. I’ve seen them provoke and outright insult customers. It must be that fact that the employees are union workers and believe that they are special. This is why I rarely shop here. I get my milk from cvs next door if that’s all I need. The managers are aloof and have a hostile disposition as well. And unfortunately, a common theme in customer service these days.

My local stater bros so obviously I’ll be coming here regardless of how customer service is, and I have been for years without problem. Expect long lines but pricing is good for what it is.

Dear older gentleman who worked in the produce department on Sunday evening. I was just curious how your day off was? Considering after I accidentally cut you off in an isle and smiled and apologized for cutting you off and hustled past you to get out of the way. But I guess that wasn’t enough because when you rolled past me with your cart you let out a giant annoyed exhale, didn’t make eye contact with me, but said in front of me to your coworker, «I’m so glad tomorrow’s my day off.» So… Hope you had a great day off. However, being rude won’t get you far in life and is probably the reason you were having a bad day in the first place. In case you were wondering, I will continue to have manners :)

This is my favorite store to go to, all because of Laura Smith, she is always so nice and helpful, she takes the time to make sure I was able to find everything I was looking for and is always very friendly while checking the groceries, I am sure many people feel the same way because she is always nice to everyone whenever I am on her line, I have even heard other people on line say how super nice she is. , she makes people smile and even laugh sometimes,

For the location and it being a Stater Brothers, the store was clean and stocked. All of the employees were very helpful and friendly. Their bathroom was actually well maintained. The only major hangup was trying to buy a fountain soda from the deli counter. It is near impossible when there is only one deli clerk and a line of customers. Also, the selection is not that broad. Having a Chase branch inside is definitely a plus.

Great place to shop. The prices aren’t always the best, but they have everything you need from food to french goodies to even meds and wall décor. I shop here always every week. Staff is also very nice and they have a chase bank inside.

I have gone here multiple times as I think the store is fantastic and easy to shop in, but every time I have gone in with my WIC checks, I have had nothing but problems. the checkers are stingy and grumpy when it comes to my checks and my last couple visits, they refused to honor the Gerber 4 Oz 2 pack tubs, when in the WIC book, it clearly states that 4 Oz 2 pack tubs are allowed and count as 2 towards your baby food total. they were also very grumpy with my soy milk purchase. sad, to say, I have taken my WIC checks elsewhere since then and will not shop at that store again. I’m a single mom with a 6 month old son and my husband is deployed so hangups like these are very difficult on me. I want to get in, get out, and get on with my errand running. not get bad attitudes and trouble at checkout.

I’m done with this stater bros. every time I’m here Tammy is complaining about how hard her job is and how much she hates it. The other day I overheard her complaining about her other female coworkers in front of customers. Yesterday I went with my boyfriend and«bev» made a comment under her breath to the kid bagging about my boyfriends beard… seriously…I’ll make the drive to Von’s instead…

Quality products and a decent price. Customer Service wise — most are good, some seem like they’re just going thru the motions, which is understandable because its a repetitive job. Been there, done that so I know how that feels.

FYI Stater Bros decided to refund our money and apologize. They also gave us an extra $ 50 for our trouble. Lets hope whoever made this horrible decision gets some training.

Don’t buy your seafood from here, it’s NOT fresh!!! I wanted to make a scallop dish and figured that I would find fresh seafood at my local Stater Bros. Picked up a pound of «fresh» jumbo scallops from the meat department. The lady at the counter helped me and was very nice, but when I was loading my groceries into the car, I smelled a foul odor. I assumed it was my one year old’s dirty diaper so I didn’t think anything of it and would take care of the problem when I got home. When I arrived home, to my surprise my daughter wasn’t the source of the bad smell. As I grabbed the packages scallops(might I add the packaging said«FRESHNESSGUARENTEED» all over it) I could smell the rancid odor even without opening the package. When I opened it, the smell was ten times worse!!! The scallops were even slimey and some mushy! Gross!!! How did the lady at the counter not smell it herself?! I returned back to Stater Bros to get my money back and went to Sprouts to get fresh seafood!

I think this store deserves a much more positive rating than what’s presented here on Unilocal.I’m a loyal customer since moving into French Valley 8 years ago, and have always received the best of service. They are well stocked, clean, and very reasonably priced(I’ve done my research). They have a great selection, and even some non-grocery items priced pretty competitively. The deli staff is always friendly, letting me know when my favorite(Thanksgiving Roast Turkey) is on sale, and the rest of the staff always makes it a point to say hi, asking me if I found everything. Even on busy days, when people are just getting off work to go grocery shopping(like myself), management is always quick to notice the line, and jump up to help the checkers move it along. I think that shows great teamwork! Yes, a lot of the staff may seem young to some, but they’re just friendly and very hard-workers! I say major kudos to the Winchester Stater Brothers!!! (…and no I’ve never worked or been affiliated with anyone who has worked at Stater Brothers. I’m just a happy, satisfied shopper that visits probably 2 –3 times a week. My only advice would be a lil more training on proper bagging technique. Sometimes I find my meat in with some heavy cans. But no worries, I usually check and correct myself before I leave the store. I think y’all just need to be a lil more understanding of how tough a job can be when dealing with the public and their food. It’s not easy, people are very picky, especially in this area!)

This place is great and it’s right around the corner from the house. Good for the quick necessities. Always a bunch of checkout counters open, so wait times are pretty minimal. I really like the meat dept in here, they make all kinds of stuff. The only thing I dislike about here is people and their shopping cart laziness. For some reason my fellow shoppers here like to leave carts all over the place. Weird, but it seems worse than anywhere else(except maybe Wal-Mart). I prefer to push my cart into the«cart corral», cause I like to stir things up!

Bakery staff are rude. Stood there for several minutes while two employees didn’t bother looking up to acknowledge me. I finally called out to them for help and they looked at me like I was the rude one. Another employee came up from behind me(not the counter) and asked if I needed something. I replied that I wanted to buy a cake and her response, «Okay? …Which one?» I’ll just make the extra drive to Albertsons from now on. Same stuff, better service.

It’s a regular grocery store in all respects. They usually have plenty of checkers, I usually not behind more than 2 people. Their meat department is fantastic! If you want to impress people with some burgers, carne asada, or kabobs, this is the place to go. They’re pre-seasoned, and when I make them, they can’t believe they’re store pre-made. Bakery department always has good freshly baked bread, and their produce is pretty up to snuff. I had an issue with bad cherry tomatoes which had been stocked on the shelves and were all slightly moldy(years ago) After I brought it to the produce managers attention all of them were taken down immediately and I haven’t seen any bad produce since. 99.9% friendly staff, they even remember me and ask how I’m doing on a weekly basis. There is *1* checker there who doesn’t like her job, and it shows, but I’m not going to judge an entire store and its staff on literally 1 person.(I do avoid her when I’m checking out though!)

Ever wonder where that bitter man-hating lady with 9 cats goes during the day? Well she works at Stater Bros. If tomorrow was the Apocalypse and Stater Bros was the only store that hasn’t been raided, I’d probably still pass to avoid seeing Medusa reincarnate! We come to buy groceries, not get death glares by checkers who hate life and get their panties in a bunch because they don’t know the difference between jalapeño and serrano peppers.(Or maybe they did and it was a poor attempt to overcharge me). I don’t even want to get started on that poor excuse of a manager! SHUTITDOWN!!!

Love Staters and this one is particularly nice! I really only shop here for the butcher department! I love being able to get fresh meat and fish any day of the week. Their prices are always really good too! I love that you don’t have to be part of a club to get a discount, they just give it to anyone! The store is always very clean and neat and I will be back soon!

Always a good sale here… Don’t need to sign up for a loyalty card, low prices for everybody! Redbox inside also. The closest and only grocery store if you live deep on Winchester Rd.
