Firefly Cafe & Bakery

Today was my first time visiting and eating at the Firefly Café and Bakery and I have nothing but kind and wonderful words to say about this place. I walked in around 11:00 and the place was completely deserted. The cashier was so sweet and complimented my hat (Washington Capitals hat) and we had a brief discussion about hockey. Not only was the food absolutely delicious, but the service was professional and I received my food in a timely manner. The atmosphere is great for either lunch with friends or working on things for work. I will definitely be coming back and will be recommending to all my friends, family and coworkers.

I love it here :) they also have gluten free options. I have a very sensitive stomach and always leave feeling good with no stomach ache :)

My friend and I went right after it was reviewed in the local paper so it was very crowded. We liked the sandwiches we got and thought the prices were reasonable. The worst thing about Firefly is the location. Unfortunately right next door is a cigar shop and folks sit outside and smoke cigars, so sometimes one has to walk through a haze of smoke to get inside the restaurant. Could make one lose one’s appetite.

I absolutely love this place! The service is amazing. They support such a great cause and employ those who have special needs. I often come in for a coffee and pastry (Oreo bars and the BB krispies are my fave). This morning I had the Breakfast dip sandwich– flatbread, ham, fried egg, Brie, tomato and spinach with a spicy tomato soup to dip. I might have to get it every morning – so good! I love the gal serving in the am– she always remembers me and is so friendly! I highly recommend this place!

I have found my new favorite lunch spot! I went here today for the first time needing a change; I usually get Panera or Chipotle to-​go, but am tired of the 50% chance that my order will be wrong.
The atmosphere of Firefly is great! It is a big enough location to where even during busy times, you don’t feel crowded. Everyone working there was friendly, so many smiles! I also think it is awesome that they employ people with disabilities and learning barriers that can make finding a job tough.
I ordered a wrap and a salad, both of which were very good and fresh. Their menu is impressive and different from your standard turkey-​and-​american-​cheese sandwich; lots of unique options that Winchester has needed for a long time! Will definitely be back here regularly!

I came to the Battlefield to watch my friend finish the half marathon. I wanted to grab a coffee to stay warm. It took a while to get my drink which was a regular coffee it turned out to be chocolate flavored coffee. It wasn’t bad but not what I ordered.
The place has a nice atmosphere and the food looked good.
I heard that they employ people with special needs which made me rethink my review. That is a great gesture that they employ people that have difficulty finding jobs elsewhere.

I have been here twice now while meeting a friend. I have to say I love this coffee house! When walking in, I immediately noticed how big and bright it was. There are plenty of large windows that let in a ton of light. The staff is super friendly, always saying hello or good morning when I come inside.
The selection of food items is great! They have make your own breakfast sandwiches, tons of treats like lemon bars, cinnamon rolls, and brownies (all three of which are DELICIOUS!), salads and sandwiches for lunch, and an array of sides which I’m sure are just as tasty as the breakfast items. For the sweet treats, they will heat those up if you want them warm and gooey.
I have only ordered lattes, but they were fantastic each time. Their coffee selection isn’t as large as a place like Starbucks, but the flavors are amazing and the prices are great!
I can get a HUGE cinnamon roll and a latte for about $ 6.50.
If your food or drink order will take a few minutes and there is a line, they offer you a table number and bring your food and drinks when they are ready. Service is usually fairly quick and always with a smile.

Excellent friendly service and the food is fantastic! Love that they serve HEALTHY foods, not food intended to appear healthy! Have had the bean salad as a meal several times (it is definitely filling enough for a meal and healthy). Each time I’ve had the fruit it’s been good too!

Every experience I’ve had at Firefly has been positive; however, if you’re in a hurry Firefly might not be for you especially at lunch time. Good fresh food and a courteous staff! I’ll keep going back :-)

Not only delicious food but the most attentive and kind staff around. Miles ahead of the competition in Winchester. Im from Winchester but live in Dallas and can say this operation would rival any in the Metroplex. Kudos Firefly for showing the Shenandoah Valley how it’s done!

Order at the counter then grab a table or take your food to go! No matter what, just be sure to try this place.
What else can I say that hasn’t been said before me? The food is excellent. I’m always on the lookout for good chicken salad and this place nailed it! The homemade croissant it came on blew my mind. Fantastic.
The coffee leaves nothing to be desired; my latte was impeccable. I’m truly at a loss for words to describe it.
I got some sweets to go and can’t wait to break into them later!
So happy I stopped in to try this place. Great addition to Winchester. It has all the feel of a true restaurant with the convenience of being quick if you need to be out the door. I can see myself coming back time and time again and never straying from what I got today because it is so good.
Firefly is an instant classic.

This place is a good find! It has a large variety of sandwiches and deserts. They are very accommodating and the food is delicious! When it comes to some of the sandwiches, the portions are quite large for one person. They picked up that I was sharing my meal and gave us two separate plates without us even having to ask. I will definitely be returning!

We went there for lunch and were happily surprised. Their food tasted fresh and delicious.
The service was friendly and fast and very attentive. The prices were affordable and not over the top.
Very pleased with the whole experience. Will come back.

My husband and I stopped in for coffee and breakfast this morning. Our usual go-​to would be the Daily Grind, but this was just as good, if not better. The prices were reasonable, the staff was friendly, and after ordering, they brought our drinks and food to us. The seating area was large, clean, and very new and pretty looking. Both coffee drinks, a vanilla latte and a caramel macchiato were delicious. Perhaps true coffee connoisseurs would have a different opinion, but we like our coffee drinks mixed well with flavor throughout, and these were perfect for us. My husband’s cinnamon roll was huge and warm and yummy. I had the almond cream swirl cake. It was soft and moist and flavorful. Besides all of the above, I feel good about supporting a local business, and even better, a business which helps people in the community. We’ll be back.

So far I have been three times and for a NEW independent café they are doing great. The coffee is splendid, the treats are fresh, and the staff is friendly. Clean and simple. Starbucks this is not (So do not expect that when you come in). If you are looking for a lovely place to connect with friends then you will enjoy their pleasant casual atmosphere. This place is POPULAR and again still very new. Bring your patience and a smile and you will be rewarded :) Great place for setting up business meetings. Very meeting friendly :)

Went for Breakfast on a late Saturday morning. Both of us had breakfast sandwiches — one with sausage, egg, cheese on biscuit; other with bacon, egg, cheese on croissant. Both were surprisingly tasteless. Bacon tasted like microwaved precooked; not a hardy flavorful bacon at all. The sausage patty looked like sausage, but had not taste. The biscuit was heavy. Weirdly interestlngly was that neither sandwich was hot when served, escept for about ¼ of it. The folks who work there are really nice and the café supports a very good cause. I suggest you go, but just not order the breakfast sandwiches.

2^nd visit, this time going purist with an Americano extra shot, splash of almond milk. Props that they hand pull the espresso and the roast was pretty lively, but not as bold as I was hoping.
