I called the day before for a last minute appointment and was able to get in no problem. I had never been before but it was close to my house and I wanted to try my first facial. I was set up with Vicky and she was absolutely fabulous. Because it was my first facial, she explained everything she was doing, why it would help, etc. She analyzed my skin type and recommended products that I can incorporate into my daily skin care routine to better suit my skin type. Their prices are fair. I’ve been to the Newbury Street spas and while you pay for the experience there, you will not be disappointed here. I had a great experience. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. I can’t wait to go back for my next facial and explore their other offerings.

I have been going to the Platinum Door for a couple of years. Jacque S. is the best. She really knows color. I get more complements on my hair since I started going to her. Her cuts are also fabulous.

I called for a last minute pedicure appointment. I was in luck! They had an opening! I went in for the spa pedicure. The treatment was wonderful and my feet feel like butter! I had a spa finder gift certificate and was pleased that this spa was on the list. I would definitely go back again!

Have been here twice for nail services and have had mixed results. The shellac manicure was fine. The pedicures had varying results. With the first one the polish was chipped and, in one case, had come off in one piece from a nail in less than 7 days. That’s never happened to me before and I think they should have offered to repolish my toes at no cost. The second one lasted longer. BTW — why the $ 13 difference between the regular and the spa pedicure? For the exfoliating scrub? It’s not enough of a differentiator for that money.

Beautiful spa. Went in for a last minute appointment to use my Living Social coupon. Had my shellac done by Penny– who seemed knowledgeable. Unfortunately, my shellac is now chipping after only 3 days! Normally Shellac last me at least 2 weeks without chipping. Greatly disappointed.

Consider this three and a half stars. I gotta give some extra props to any independent business based in my hometown! I was out in the ‘burbs for a wedding this weekend, and found myself in dire need of a brow wax and a manicure. Mama suggested I check out the town’s only«spa». First a Starbucks, now a spa?! What’s next, Wilmington — a bookstore?! The spa /salon itself is in a great space — I was impressed by the overall ambiance of the place. Comfortable and relaxing, with super-friendly staff. I had my brow appointment first. Sadly, I can’t remember the name of my waxer, but she was super-friendly and did a really great job, consulting with me several times to make sure she was giving me the arch I was looking for. Quick, efficient, friendly — everything you’d want in a brow-trimming experience. The girl who did my manicure was also super sweet, helped me pick out an appropriately neutral color and let me chatter away about my weekend plans. The place doesn’t have any hand dryers, though — and since I was on a tight schedule I didn’t have time to sit and let my nails air dry for 20 minutes. Reaching for my wallet and maneuvering the front door managed to completely destroy most of my nails. As I am not a very fastidious girl, I kinda shrugged this off and continued on with the rest of my day — but it is a little annoying to spend $ 22 on a «manicure» that my mother had to touch up for me with some mismatching polish. In short — I would definitely go back to the Platinum Door for a wax, facial, massage, etc. .. but when it comes to mani /pedi services, I’ll stick with the cheap and efficient strip-mall nail parlor down the street.
