I was in the market to buy a new fridge, I happened to come out of World Market and walk by HHGREG, it seemed like the right time to check it out. This is Chapter 1 of the struggle… I bought a fridge on December 7th, customer service was decent, except for some of the workers sitting around watching the football game. I was just happy to have a delivery date set for Dec 19, right in time for the closing of our new house and Christmas. Let’s fast forward to Dec 19th. I was initially told I’d get a call 40 minutes prior to the delivery, I happened to be at work until 5 and found it odd I hadn’t received a call yet, I called HHGREG to inquire. Tiffany tells me I have a «soft delivery date», meaning no date was set for my delivery upon purchase, she apologized and mentioned they could have it delivered by next Friday.(Buzzer Sound) Nope, I need it delivered first thing Saturday morning. She put me on hold to check with her manager, and confirmed they could have it delivered between 8−11am the next day(Saturday). I received an automated message confirming delivery next day. Along comes Saturday, I wait in front of the house like an excited pup at the pet shop window. 11:01am rolls around, not a peep from my cell phone. I give the driver the benefit of the doubt and wait a while longer… nothing. Called and talked to Chris, the Delivery Manager, He mentioned he doesn’t know why they told me Saturday delivery, when they only come around my area on Fridays. He offered a $ 250 credit but it would have to be delivered by Friday, Dec 26. When I asked why nobody gave me a call, his answer was, «I already informed 3 people of it»…What they forgot to do, was inform the most important person in this whole scenario, the one who paid for the fridge. Ultimately, I asked for a refund, and have yet to see it come back to my account(it was just yesterday). I went straight to Lowes, they had the fridge in stock and delivered the fridge this morning(next day delivery). In conclusion: If you enjoy premature graying of your hair due to stress, extra wrinkles on your face from anger, and dealing with an unorganized company, I can refer you to this nice little company called HHGREG, and they have a location in Wilmington. If you like things done orderly, on time, and efficient, having these guys in your rear view mirror will probably be the safest route.

With the rest of the mall opening late — this place was a perfect retreat for us on the day we were leaving the area! The selections were huge — the staff NOT pushy at all, pricing seemed reasonable on everything we looked at — great parking! A sure re-visit is in order! BTW — I’ve noticed that the friendlier I am with staff the friendlier they are — some say they should always be nice to a customer. I agree that their sales may increase, but I like being nice and seeing people’s responses. Salespeople are no different than the rest of us — they have bad days too and many customers can make a bad day horrible — or sometimes — nice — all depends on the customer moods!

Words can not describe how much I dislike hhgregg. You walk into the store just to look, and you get attacked by salespeople. I made the mistake of actually buying something. Bought a fridge and tv that came with installation. The fridge was damaged upon delivery. They offered me a $ 150 rebate for that, although I had to go to the store TWICE until I actually got my money back. The TV installation was scheduled the day I purchased. I never received a phone call to confirm the appointment. The guy never showed up… I called, they said they knew nothing about it, so off I went to hhgregg again, scheduled it again, and this time it worked. The install itself was not worth the money, anyone could have done it, but I just did it because it was offered with my tv. If you can avoid this store, do so! I much prefer Best Buy, as I believe their service is much better and the people working there actually know what they are talking about.

Uncomfortable. You can feel the stares from the salespeople. Rarely the cheapest, 14 day return policy. We need a Fry’s SO Bad.
