Full disclosure — I’m not a good fabric shopper, and these kind of stores typically overwhelm me with the abundance of textile styles, colors, and weights. In need of seven yards of fabric to re-upholster a chair, I found myself at Artee Fabrics & Home on the recommendation of the man doing the work. On entering, my mom and I were warmly greeted by Jasmine, who showed us around the store, explaining the layout and how to find what we were seeking. Please note: the store is laid out by colors, not weights or types of fabric, so it helps to know your color scheme if you want to save time. After spending a good 20 – 30 minutes perusing the aisles, and seeing many beautiful options, I narrowed my selections to half a dozen. Then Nancy stepped in to assist, snipping swatches while I went back and forth before deciding on a suitable fabric. After making my final decision, I opted to purchase ¾ yard to take home to make sure the colors worked in the room.(Worst case, I had enough for a pillow or a barstool.) Once I confirmed my selection worked, I simply called Artee and ordered the remaining yards needed. Jasmine and Nancy are great to work with, and I can definitely recommend their lovely store.
