Agaru Tattoo

TJ is awesome! He is a talented artist. He’s did 2 of my tattoos this year & will be doing at least 2 more next year. Great with colors & shapes of special details. Gentle, patient, kind, & thorough. He takes the time to make sure that you follow the aftercare instructions & recommended AQUAPHOR, not A & D for my sensitive skin.
I got 2 other great tattoos in Agaru in 2008.
Great location on the 2^nd level of the Trolley Square building.

Chris does great work, the price was awesome, and well when get more cash I will be back. It’s a great shop in a nice private location. The rest of the staff knows their stuff and tattoo work, and piercing.
Pros: Clean, knowledgeable and friendly staff.
Cons: The only reason why I didn’t give it 5 stars is I found it to be a bit hard to find. It not in the front of the complex it’s in the back. Everybody knows where it is but me :/

Excellent! Extremely clean studio, very professional, very friendly artists with quiet comforting atmosphere. I scheduled with Chris Thayer and he was awesome. Such a talented artist but very down-​to-​earth, a rare combo. He was very patient with me as we planned the design and was willing to perfect it to my desires from the start. He was attentive to my needs and was very easy to talk to. I couldn’t be happier with how my tattoo turned out. Not a thing I would change. I will definitely be coming back and have already recommended it to a few people.

The Lizard King!
I had a great experience at Agaru Tattoo in Trolley! I’ve had a lot of life changes going on lately and was feeling impulsive after work on Monday. I wanted to get a tattoo on my day off which happened to be the following day. I hadn’t had a tattoo done in DE in years. A couple friends recommended Agaru, so I gave them a call. They told me Laura would be available after 4 on Tuesday.
Laura was great! I showed her some pictures of what I wanted and she put together something original based on some Polynesian prototypes. We worked on the fine details together getting the crown on the lizard’s head just right and tweaking part of his body. It looked awesome!
Soon after, she went to work. Laura was very detailed and focused on her work. The result was exactly what I wanted. A clean, crisp badass looking lizard king: part Polynesian, part original, totally amazing!
I’m very satisfied with my new tattoo and totally recommend Laura at Agaru Tattoo in Trolley Square.

I’ve been a longtime customer of Agaru Tattoos, and I plan on remaining loyal for much longer.
Tattoos are a mixture, in my opinion, of art and craft. Art obviously being the skill and final product, and craft being the attention to detail and service. In my experience Tommy does both incredibly well. I’ve always loved the tattoos he has done on me, and equally important he ALWAYS starts on time, solicits feedback, and is friendy. Having gone to different shops around the country I can tell you Tommy’s qualitites are quite rare.
Plus he’s a funny dude and a good conversationalist, enhancing the whole experience. He’d be great for a first time customer.

Worst experience I’ve ever had with a tattoo parlor in my life. Two months after putting down a deposit, TJ still had no sketches for me to look at. He was incredibly unprofessional and did not call to confirm my appointment, nor to let me know he had anything to show for the $ 20 I put down. He talked down to me like I was worthless and his attitude about the situation was completely unacceptable. I would drive to LA to get a tattoo before I would ever consider giving this place another penny of my money.

I’ve gotten all but two of my tattoos at Agaru Tattoos via Tommy. He does a great job and I usually recommend him to my friends, so now I will recommend him to you. Sure its a little hike to go from Philadelphia where I live all the way to Wilmington but its definitely worth the trip. I am constantly complimented on my tattoos after years and years of having them, the color is still so bright to the point people ask me if I just got mine… no, most of them are over 5 years old… but they still look super fresh and clean.
I know there are tons of great artists in the area, but I also highly recommend taking a trip to see Tommy R.
