Cute store with lots of fun and quirky items. I’ve always loved popping in to find something special. But today I had an odd experience here that gave me pause. I just moved back to the area after a few years away and had a meeting on Spring Street with a local community member. The woman I met with gave me a cute tote bag full of pamphlets and info on the college and community. After my meeting I stopped by Where’d You Get That to buy some cards and little gifts for a friend. I had the bag slung over my arm while I browsed. When I went to the register to check out, the woman behind the counter asked, accusingly, if I wanted to pay for the bag too. I was confused, looked down and said«oh! no!» I handed her my credit card, and explained I’d just received it as a gift. She said«uh-huh» and typed my name into the computer. I felt so weird and taken aback. I showed her that there were pamphlets inside, also noticing the tag was still on the bag(how was I supposed to know it came from this store!?!) but as I did she just stared at me with a look of disbelief. I wanted to continue to explain but as I did I just felt more ashamed and stupid. Why should I feel ashamed, I’ve done nothing wrong! I signed the slip, said thank you and left, embarrassed. I’m sad to think the store experiences theft to the extent that it mistrusts its patrons so easily. But I would have hoped to have been given the benefit of the doubt. I want to give them five stars for their unique and fun gifts, but I felt a bit mistreated and misunderstood by the staff. $ 50 for a few cards and small items isn’t worth the hard feelings. And now that they think I’m a shoplifter, I may never be back as it won’t be fun shopping there again! Sad, too because I really like this shop. :-(

Really cool store with so many unique, quirky gifts. They also do gift packages that they deliver to Williams College students. The employees are really nice, but the owner can sometimes have an attitude. There was one time, she gave me too much money back, and I was being honest and tried returning her money. But she thought I was doing the opposite and trying to get more money back, and gave me a HUGE attitude! I should have never said anything and kept it…

What a cute store! I googled places to stop at on our foliage tour this past weekend. This store popped up on the list and looked like a unique place to check out. Free parking in the lot which was nice. The store itself is very eclectic. You won’t find toys like these anywhere else. I loved the funny cards section and they have great, funny books. Wish it wasn’t so crowded but what do I expect on a Saturday? Love to stop by again if we are in the area!

I think of this as a game store that tends slightly towards a gift store. This is a quirky and unique store that has a clear focus on quirky and brainy games. There’s a pretty broad diversity of the types of games stocked here: it’s not a die-hard gamer store, but you will find quite a few of the solid, classic strategy games like Catan and games of that genre. What you’ll find more of is abstract, geometric and mathematical puzzle games and such… I think that is this store’s strong-suit. There are also lots of generally quirky things, small books and various small gift items. I’m less a fan of this type of offering(give me a pure game store!!!) but I will say that the selection of non-game stuff is decent for what it is. The store has a bright, cheerful atmosphere and I think the games and other items stocked here reflect that – it’s a fun, playful sort of place with lots of colors and shapes. This is a fun place to pop into and poke around!

This is one of those places that remind me of days when I was not introduced to shopping malls or chains but a nice friendly neighborhood stores. If you think about it, the person who is in charge of purchasing in this store can control how many options you will have for that birthday card or a gift for your nephew. I think this place has a good choices in almost all departments. They are a little overpriced but that comes with being and independent store in the neighborhood. I did not buy anything here but enjoying looking around.

There just aren’t a lot of stores like this anywhere. You’ll find a great selection of toys and games for people of all ages, but its all surprisingly tasteful, considering its next to a college.(there’s an entire costume section without one«sexy» themed item) Think brain teasers, boardgames, puzzles, costume accessories, stuffed animals… While I was here I picked up the expansion for settlers of catan. I called in advance to make sure they had it, and they not only put it on hold, but had some other suggestions for me as well. Great salesmanship! The prices are a bit high for settlers, but there isn’t shipping, and you get it right then, plus you get the fun of checking out all the other games and taking to a very pleasant staff.

Cute little gift shop. They have all sorts of fun stuff for kids of all ages. Great place to find a gift for that person in your life who has everything. I did find a lot of items to be a little overpriced and the store felt very cramped.
