I have been excited for Amanda Brett’s(Owner/Creative Director) shop«Schafmeyer and Company» for over a year. I have been meaning to come to the shop in East Williamsburg but I find that I am rarely in this neighborhood even though some of my favorites places are all walking distance from the shop, Anchored Inn, The Wick, Second Chance, Bushwick Country Club and last but not least Dun-Well Doughnuts. Yesterday I made a point to finally make it to the shop and hit up some of my favorites shops. S&C did not disappoint. I was getting goosebumps when I saw the intricate gold lettering and the taxidermy from the window. The shop is small and long but absolutely gorgeous. There was tons of eye candy here. I didn’t know where to start. There was a rack of vintage leather jackets. I spotted a hand painted leather jacket with the distinct art of Seattle’s artist Natalia Czjkiewicz«Lost Teeth». They also had Czjkiewicz’ hand painted coffin boxes. I have been a huge fan for years and was happy to see the shop supporting small artist from all over. Hopefully she will do art art show at S&C. There was also a rack of cool printed shirts for the shop. I especially enjoyed the prints done by the artist Deer Jerk(Bryn Perott) who does art that appears like wood carvings. There’s a snake demon embracing a nude woman that is my favorite. I will be returning to treat myself to this little beauty. There was also fun stickers from«Ball and Chain» I got a sweet sticker of a nude lady and a skull and dagger that I will be placing on my bike for sure. And great intricate skull rings from Witness Company. And patches of hand holding a rose with a matching manicure. The patch would be a great addition to a summer jean vest. I will also have to give a huge shout out the young lady working there. She was super sweet and helpful. She was also wearing an pretty rad Golden Girls shirt while knitting herself a canned beer holding koozie glove. Yup! She’s one cool chica.
