Great stop for lunch or dinner. We were traveling 64 on the way to the outer banks. Lots of variety to choose from, clean bathrooms, friendly staff and packed with locals. A great find thanks to Unilocal

I would have given 4 stars for the pizza except they used canned mushrooms — a definite «NONO» in my book. My fault… I should have asked before ordering. The crust was nicely browned and had the perfect amount of chew. We also ordered the Julienne Salad. The salad was a disappointment. It looked like they took the ingredients for one of their subs, sliced it into strips and placed it on top of a bed of lettuce. They didn’t bother to separate the meat and cheese. Along with meat, cheese and lettuce, there was a whole tomato that had been quartered along with several slices of white onion, 2 rings of bell pepper and a pepperocini. I will give them credit for the lettuce which was fresh with no brown spots.

Went here for the first time today. Ordered two Italian Subs. One with American Cheese and one the regular way. They made both with American Cheese! The roll was awful. A true Italian sub has good Italian bread. If you really know an Italian sub, you know that the roll is all important. Tomato was sliced really thick and the roll was saturated. It was probably the worst Italian sub that we have ever had. The only positive I can give is that the Carrot Cake was the best we have ever had.

The Greek salad was miserable, tasteless. The eggplant sub was ok.

Great spot in Williamsburg for a quick bite. You order at the register and wait to pick up your order. Beverages are also self-serve. They offer a large deli menu from pizza to subs to salads to reubens, and dessert! The place is a decent size. Booths and tables to choose from. It is great for large parties but gets busy fast. I love turkey reubens! The one they serve up is pretty great. Fries are additional but the serving is shareable and the price is low. My husband enjoyed his italian sub. It was a cold day, my grandma was warmed up by her chicken and rice soup. This is definitely a place we would visit again.

We ate here while we stayed in Williamsburg. We had ordered take out orders. Consisting of a variety of items of the menu. Reubens sandwich, meatball sub, chicken tenders, fries, cannolis, and cheesecake! All the items were hot, fresh and good. The meatball sub had a spice I can’t quite put finger on that brought the sub to life with every bite. Fries were regular seasoned fries. The Reuben was a good size sandwich and with fries would be too much fore to eat both. The cannoli had a nice crisp shell so I can only assume that it is filled to order. It wasn’t not as flavorful but it was good. The center was very thick and although that too didn’t seem as flavorful as we have had was quite filling. Like I said our meal was all take out so I would like to go back and order food on the premises and eat it hot and fresh!

One word sums up this visit. GREAT! I ordered a Stromboli and when it came out I was amazed at the size of it. Well over 11 – 12 inches and full of the ingredients I asked for. Food was received hot and fresh and in a timely manner. No complaints will visit again when I’m in the area of the outlet mall!

So I went in to grab a couple slices because I was told the pizza is good. They don’t sell by the slice though, which is crazy for a nyc style pizza joint and the reason for only 4 stars. I got a stromboli instead, which was outstanding.

Not for foodies. This is for the average American, people who eat at fast food restaurants and chain restaurants. My bf and I couldn’t finish our pastrami sandwich or turkey sub. Bread was a bit crumbly, maybe a little stale? My turkey sub didn’t taste much better than a turkey sub from subway. They added cheese when I didn’t ask for cheese. You’re better off eating in Richmond if you’re on the road!

We eat at NY Deli frequently when we’re in Williamsburg for soccer. This place has something for everyone — fresh pizza, hot subs, wings, the list goes on… Everything I’ve tried has been great. Be careful: you could walk in and meet a line of people practically waiting out the door to order. They get very busy during peak hours. My favorite sub is the Virginia Sub: roast beef, ham, bacon piled high with the usual accoutrements. The bread tastes light and buttery, just like a hot sub should. Portions are large with these subs. I’m an eater and I struggle to polish off the whole thing. I’ve also had the chicken parm sub. This was very good as well. Fresh-cooked chicken covered in zesty marinara and gooey cheese. Their only cause for demerit is the pricing. You pay $ 9 for a sub and don’t get a drink or side. I suppose you do get a LOT of sub for that $ 9, but at least have a combo option so I’m not paying another $ 4 or $ 5 just to get some fries and a soda. Maybe I’ve become too conditioned to the fast food model that I’m not fully appreciative of a NY style delicatessen. The side of fries you can and should order is a huge plate, suitable for sharing. There’s a silver lining. Obviously, we will continue to patronize this W’burg staple.

New York Deli & Pizza has been around W-burg since ’05 — they offer pizza(with homemade dough), stromboli, subs, sandwiches, Italian entrees, gyros, souvlaki, and even beer and wine. I was pretty excited to check this place out, as I always like a good sub! I tried their New York Sub(which came with corned beef, salami, ham, Swiss, tomato, mustard, mayo, and a pickle(which we never got T____T — the bread itself was topped with sesame seeds, and you can opt for in getting your sub toasted(which I did) — the taste was just okay, even though it was generously stacked; I think I would just get a corned beef sandwich the next time), and an order of chicken wings(these were really crispy, and comes with a side of either ranch or bleu cheese(I chose the latter)); while the bleu cheese was more ranch style, the wings were pretty good, as they had a nice little crispy exterior on them. Service was pretty efficient, as you just go up to the counter, order, pay, and then wait for your number to get called in the ‘pick-up’ section. There are plenty of seats, in and outside of the place, and it was jam-packed! +chicken wings +corned beef(extremely thinly-sliced) +no pickle T____T

Really yummy food, as usual. Subs are too big that we always have leftovers… wish subs came in 2 sizes. And I wish they had subs on the kid’s menu. There was a lady behind the Take Out counter where I got my boxes for the leftovers, and she was super nice and friendly. I always like to stop here when I’m in Williamsburg. I would recommend it!

Best sandwich I’ve had in a long time. Stopped here after leaving Great Wolf Lodge. Got the New York Sub. Really good bread.

I usually come for their steak cheese sub cuz it’s really the best one anywhere around. I ordered a pizza which I never do cuz it looks way to thick and too cheesy like Chicago style pizza. Well their pizza is not NY style! It’s upstate NY style! Overpriced and small in size. The food here is great though. Well priced subs and tasty and fresh.

Best place in Williamsburg for subs!!! There are many different types to choose from. They also have pizza, stromboli’s, Italian dishes, gyros. Employees are the best in Williamsburg as well. You will not be disappointed.

We came here for lunch today around 2:30 and it was still packed! Cute little place, clean and several televisions hanging on the walls. We both ordered the Apollos treat, mixed(pastrami and corned beef) with extra pickles on the side. They were very good although I couldn’t really tell the difference between the two meats. Even tho it was packed there was plenty of seating and since it was such a lovely day we dined al fresco. The sandwiches are pretty big at least ours were, and the ones I saw being eaten around me, so ordering sides is definitely not necessary. Next time I’m in the area and I’m craving a sandwhich or pizza I will definitely go back to this establishment.

Always enjoy the New York Deli, I usually get a Reuben, but sometimes the diet burger platter. Both are good. Hubs orders the steak sub, and it looks delicious. Fries are hot and delicious, a single order is enough for two to share, onion rings are also yummy. The line can get crazy here but it moves fast. This time it took close to 20 minutes for two subs and it was a weekday lunch, probably because we ordered fries. If I had it to do over again I’d have just gotten a bag of chips. The New York Deli is kind of a staple in the ‘burg, you have to eat here every few months.

Very busy. I was clueless walking into this place the first time on how it all operated. The sandwich was awesome. Wait time was not bad at all(I ordered a simple sandwich though.) What was a bit annoying was that I ordered a drink when I ordered the sandwich but wasn’t given a cup. Having never been there before, I went to the soda machine to look for them. Nope. So I walked up to the take-out folks and got a cup from them… I interrupted whatever busy conversation they were having. I may try it again, but just feels awkward as a customer to walk around looking for your drink, etc — and then get stink eye when you do ask someone for a cup. I don’t know. It was a yummy sandwich. I wish their drive thru worked. I would much rather do that then go inside there when I’m solo for lunch.

Here we go… the best sub on the planet! The Roast Beef«Chandler» with bacon! I know they also serve pizza here and many other subs but for me… it will always be this one. Why… because it’s unbelievably great every time. This place has served more subs to locals and tourists than a smartphone calculator could even multiply. Staff is friendly and they are behind the counter. You’ll order at the cash register and then your order number is called out when ready. Use your few minutes in between to find a table and fill your own beverage glass.
