One thing I will say about this place was that the service was really stellar. Shelly did an awesome job waiting on our larger group. The location of this restaurant is nice as well being in a shopping area surrounded by other businesses. The food, well the food was just ok. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t amazing either. I got 2 crab cakes and mixed veggies. The crab cake was good and was pure crab meet with no fillers but the flavor was kind of eh… I’d give this place another shot though.

The food was ok, but waitress came to our table with a filthy black shirt on and under the nail of her fingernails was dirt, oil, or grease. We should have left, like another couple did.

In town to have brunch with DH’s long lost friend and his family. They enjoy this place and recommended we meet there. The Sunday Brunch menu offers a selection of traditional brunch choices as well as their full menu. Our party was evenly split on what we wanted to order. DH and I decided to split a dozen oysters from the raw bar to start, even if it was $ 29 for the dozen. We each ordered a brunch item for our meal. The oysters were big sized and looked delicious. But they had not been properly shucked. I prefer it when they cut the muscle on the bottom shell, making it easier to slide it out of the shell to eat. But in any case, they were quickly devoured. For our brunch meals, I had the crab cake Benedict. DH ordered the lox bagel sandwich. My Benedict was served with a side of fruit and potatoes. It was fine. I would have enjoyed a bit more of a crust on the crab cakes though. A bit soft. DH said his meal was«fine» as well. It looked like it came with a number of good things, such as red onions and capers. The service was OK as well. The server was friendly and reasonably attentive. But she did let the oyster shells sit in the table way too long. One nice thing was that our friends had small children with them and CSG let Mom create an a la carte breakfast for the kids. So I appreciate that flexibility. I certainly did not dislike this place. 2.5 stars would be more like it. But there are probably lots of other places I would check out next time I am back in the area.

Wow, wow, wow, wow… did I say wow yet? This is a very nice, classy, upscale, impress a date, leisurely supper spot that was a real find. Its an open kitchen concept with an edgy modern feel. Our server was really polite and on point! At first, they brought a complimentary appitizer… a wonton skin covered in a garden fresh salsa/relish. Its a win. Bread lover? Let me tell you about the homemade rolls… yeasty soft goodness with real butter. This is just the warm-up. Since we were going to walk Colonial Williamsburg after dinner, we opted for sandwiches… but the braised pork shank that went past our table is the stuff of legends and I will be back for that! I had the shrimp po’boy. It was fantastic! A homemade roll(who makes the bread? I am positive they are my lost soul mate!) With 10 shrimp, diced tomato, lettuce, and a spicey roumalade. Heaven. My companions meals were just as delicious and the shrimp alfreado(made by request) was REALLY good. The fries were crisp and seasoned. but wait, dessert you say? Ah yes, convincing ourselves the added calories would be walked off, we decided we need dessert. Good call. They had the carmel apple crème brûlée and it was good. I being an over-achiever, had the bananas foster bread pudding with carmel sauce. Oh damn. it was soooo good it made you want to lick the plate… I didnt but boy did I think about it. Tonight, we proved you can do a walking tour while in a food coma… okay we were more zombie like… but we did it! I will definitely be back… there is a pork shank with my name on it.

Bomb!!! My fiancé and I were here visiting, just for the weekend. We decided to try this place out and are so glad we did! Every trip to Williamsbirg, we will be stopping here. We had their crab dip and snake bites appetizers. They were so good! I love a good jalapeño but then to stuff a giant shrimp in it… sign me up! I had the shrimp tacos and he had the sirloin. Both amazing. I think the best part of the visit was our server, Kimberly. She was so pleasant. Best service I’ve had in a long time.

This is our second visit to center street and we absolutely love this eatery. The staff are very knowledgeable and kind. Williamsburg has a lot to offer in this area and this is one place that we continue to frequent.

Great place to have meetings and talk with groups in special accommodations. I am not a connoisseur of fine food so I may not have the correct palate to enjoy the food prepared. Center Street is an upperscale dining establishment and I was looking forward to sampling their food. My NC pulled pork barbecue sandwich tasted pretty bad. Besides the sandwich tasting foul it was downed in hot spice. I did enjoy my side of french fries while talking with dinner guests! My wife ordered a soup(Tuscan Turkey) and was also disappointed because the spices in the soup threw the flavor off. Instead of it being a hearty soup it was more of a bisque. It is a learning experience and I would not give up on Center Street just yet. It could be that they are so used to preparing upper-end foods that the easier foods maybe a challenge.

Center Street Grille is our favorite local hang-out ! We’re here at least once a week! Sit in the bar and chill with locals, and enjoy the sturdy drinks poured by Duffy, Phil, Craig, Joe and Ken! Manager, Greg… And owners Michael, Eric and Jaxx will certainly take care of you!!! Fantastic and diverse menu!!! Delicious food! Live musical entertainment many nights of the week… tremendous talent!!! This place is just like home, but they do the dishes!!!

Great relaxing atmosphere, good service and tasty food. I’ve been here a few times and enjoyed my meal each time. It’s a little pricier, but not too bad given the high quality food. I will definitely return here on future date nights with my wife, as I enjoy the cozy ambiance. The clam chowder is a must on a cold day!

We had a new waiter so we didn’t get the delicious looking free treats everyone else got. That’s my only complaint. I’ve tried french dip in 3 different places at new town and this is the best I have ever had. Hands down. My family kept trying to steal the rest. The fries were delicious as well. Really great service. Want to come back and try the oyster bar!

The crab stuffed shrimp is excellent but very pricey. That seems to be the theme in general. Great food, great service and you’ll pay for it.

I had a really lovely Sunday brunch here with my mom yesterday. Our server was friendly, fast and knowledgeable of the menu and specials. The food, while not in huge portions, was fresh and delicious. We both had omelets. I had the Atlantic, which was made with smoked salmon and avocados. The salmon was plentiful and the omelet was light and fluffy. It was served with hash browns, which were good. They were more like home fries, which was fine by me, and were prepared with peppers and onions that provided some flavor. The omelet was drizzled with a tasty sriracha aioli. My mom had the omelet that was on special; it was made with ham, a healthy portion of arugula and heirloom tomatoes. They were very accommodating with my mom’s diet and replaced two of the eggs with egg whites. They also allowed her to sub fresh fruit for hash browns and did not upcharge. Prices are a bit higher on brunch items than you’ll find at one of the pancake houses or diners in town, but the food and service are superior. Each of our omelets were a bit over $ 10 and I felt like this was a good value for what we were served. While the atmosphere is bright and somewhat fancy, the chairs are a tad on the older/tacky side and could use some modernization. It looks like they have a lot of nice specials during the week, including burger night on Mondays.

Wonderful ambience and environment, well-lit and classy. The waitress was excellent and the food even more so. I had the salmon cake salad, a special. I don’t typically like salads, but I’m trying to eat healthier. This salad was amazing though — and filling as well!

I have been here at night for hanging out and the bar but not for anything else. We came today for lunch and the food was great. The calamari was just right and the crab cake on a english muffin was delicious. The waiter Thomas was awesome. I definitely recommend it.

This 5 star rating is for their Tuesday night special — half price raw bar. Go for the oysters!!! If they have Sewansecott oysters, they are awesome — steamed shrimp is also excellent — you’ll have a tasty meal and not break your wallet. But STILL… the service is hit or miss… one time we had a super nice and knowledgeable waitress… the next time a guy who was pretty dopey. BUT… the oysters make up for it!

Decided to stop in due to the good reviews and general dinner-time indecisiveness. Décor is kind of a dimly lit Holiday Inn lobby /nursing home chic sort of feel. Old ornately framed paintings and bland colors abound. Our server didn’t seem all too thrilled to be there, but it was a graduation weekend and there were very large parties in the back private rooms. Service and food seemed to take forever. We noticed because it seemed like everyone got bread and butter brought to them… not us. *sad face*. The saving grace was the food. Did not get anything special… a burger in my case… but what a good burger it was. Cooked well(as in good), showed up piping hot, and the fries were also great. With all the other fare in the New Town area I probably won’t be back, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a shot! They also seem to have good specials Mon.-Thurs. on specific entrees.

I went here about a month or two ago for St. Patricks Day on a whim after a long and tiresome day of work. Honestly, I just wanted a good drink and some fat girl fries. Big fail! I’ve never heard of this place and found it while searching online so I could try something new and local. Unfortunately, it’s in New Town once more like a lot of joints in the Burg and so parking and getting there is pretty straight forward. I’m not quite sure what the ambiance or theme is but my first impression was a middle aged/family place. It kinda reminded me of a conference room. The night we went it was packed due to the holidays which is a good thing. They had Irish specials that night and I ordered some fish n’ chips while my roommate ordered their corned beef special. I torn up my fries out of hunger rather than their tastiness-they were average. My fish n’ chips were pretty mushy and unfortunately I had to load it with vinegar to get some type of flavor. My roommate had some cabbages which I took some nibbles of and I enjoyed it. I’m not too sure if she actually enjoyed her corned beef but I feel like it was decent based on impressions. We ordered two Guinness’s and Irish car bombs. Hard to mess the drinks up but I now know that I do not like Irish car bombs! Overall, I gave this place 3 stars because I feel like they handled themselves well for it being a busy holiday evening. Other than that it would have been a two on a regular day due to slow(but friendly) service and the mundane interior. There were kids running around and jumping all over the place as well as tons of groups of creepy old men at the bar chatting away. I don’t think this is the kind of place I see myself going to again but it could work for the latter of the groups discussed. In all, average food and setting with nothing unique to offer.

My wife and I both left our entrees uneaten on our plate after trying them. I don’t think I’ve ever done that at a restaurant. My wife ordered the halibut, which was the special for the night, and it was $ 23.00. We would happily pay $ 30+ for a good fish entrée but this fish was below the quality of a frozen supermarket filet. It was tough, overcooked, and a poor cut. I had the burger, which was supposed to be medium but was instead overcooked more than what I would expect for well done. All of the flavor had been cooked out of it. It was also supposed to be on a kaiser roll but instead came on a white wonder bread style hamburger bun. The tomatoes were white and green in the center and the lettuce was completely wilted. On top of that, they were playing metal with screaming/groaning vocals on the patio speakers and it was loud enough to be annoying. Why would any restaurant allow that to be played? When we complained to the waiter and he saw that we weren’t going to eat our entrees, he talked to the manager and came back with the bill comped only 50%. So we paid $ 24 after the discount plus tip for a train wreck of a restaurant experience … and we left hungry. On a side note, I went to Center Street Grill a few nights prior and sat at the bar and had a nice bourbon. I really enjoyed their liquor selection and the staff was friendly. I might recommend this restaurant if you don’t plan to get any food.
