We had a soft shell sandwich which was uneatable after two people tried eating it. We also got 2 dozen blue crabs steamed. The crabs in the front case were not indicative of the crabs we received in any way shape or form. The quality of the crab was fine but we ordered«Jimmy» crabs and all of the crabs were very barely legal. We wouldn’t return here and we would not recommend this place. This is my first Unilocal review and I created this account to write this review, we were that disappointed.

We were looking for steam crabs for Memorial Day weekend. Did a search and 6 crabs was listed and call was told they had crabs. I was not sure but decided to place a order for crabs, steam shrimps and hush puppies. We are from Maryland and was happy with with ur decision. Everything was delicious especially the steam shrimps. It was such a good choice we decided to order carry out for another evening again was delight in our choices. The service and food was really good.

Food was just ok, fried whiting(no flavor), fried shrimp(all batter). Crab legs ok, I’m from MD and I’ve had much better seafood from other«mom/pop shops». Friendly lady behind counter but food was not worth the long wait.

Had the fried whiting and shrimp combo. Both the fish and shrimp the horn crispy and we’ll seasoned. The size of the fish and shrimp were good enough to make two meals out of the dinner. Will definitely go back when I return to town

We stopped by this place every time we go down to Myrtle Beach, their seafood is one of the freshest we have tasted, we noticed that the owner has changed recently. The dishes have actually gotten better, crabcakes, catfish, scallops, shrimps are to die for. Service is also better. They are very friendly. If you are in the area or driving down south this is a great place to stop to get fresh seafood !!

Let me say this right now. don’t be afraid of this place. Sure, it looks like a sketchy dive. The building is a tiny brick place and the parking lot is an alley way. But if there’s anything I’ve learned on my food finding adventures, it’s that you can’t judge a place by its exterior. It’s the food that matters. And oh boy does this place do food well. Specifically, they do fish well. And in a broader sense, they do sea food well. It’s a small place run by an Asian family. They offer sea food, as well as chicken(which I did not try). It’s a surprisingly homey place with a few tables and benches. The big front windows let in a lot of light during the day making it much more bright and cheery than I expected. Their main offering is fried sea food. They offer some great combos to try a number of different types, usually featuring one main fish and assorted side dishes. I tried the catfish combo to get a feel for what they had. The meal came with fries, hush puppies, fried scallops, fried oysters, fried shrimp, and fried catfish. The fires were rather bland, not salted as much as I like and flimsy. They weren’t really satisfying and tended to serve as a pallet cleanser. The hush puppies were dense and sweet. They stayed warm and were the size of golf balls. I am not a big fan of hush puppies in general but these were still good. The fried scallops were very tasty. The breading was firm and flavorful while the scallops were tender and distinct. Their flavor wasn’t lost in the breading. Their oysters were weird. I didn’t really like them. They had a strange flavor that wasn’t the breading or the oyster itself. I’m not sure if they have an added spice or other ingredient to the mix, but they were my least favorite dish offered. The shrimp, on the other hand, was excellent. They had a snap to them and were both juicy and flavorful. They still had the tails on them which was a downside, but they were easy to take off. But the main feature was the catfish. Holy crap, the fillet was amazing. I had a good sized piece. It was thinly breaded and well seasoned. The breading acted as a great accompaniment to the fish. Now catfish is still an uncommon fish to me. I’m not used to it so I was skeptical when I got it, but I was proven so wrong. The fish was mild and sweet. When I bit into it hot it dissolved in a smooth and satisfying way. I had to keep myself from wolfing down all of it in one go. The fish wasn’t gelatinous or slimy in any way but stayed at that right balance of firm and soft that made it exceptional. With the meal they also gave me a small dish of coleslaw, as well as shrimp sauce and ketchup. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for cheap but quality fried fish. Also apparently they sell fish like a fish market. I didn’t buy any.

This was my favorite place in Williamsburg. I dream of it still. Service: Is counter only. And the language barrier was sort of difficult. But the little asian man is friendly and very responsive. Pick from the case. Tell him how you’d like it. And then wait for the magic to happen. Food: We ordered far to much but it was totally worth it. The fried shimp plate was huge. Perfectly done pile of plump shrimp and crispy fries. Softshell crab was easy to eat. The best part was the two pounds of snow crab legs. Quick steamed then cooled and coated in old bay. My sister and i split these babies and I wished I had eaten her share too. Atmosphere: As everyone says, it is very small. Mainly for take out. The three of us managed to snag one of the two four top tables and a little Korean group of five grabbed the only big table. Even though its hard to park and its no guarantee you will be able to eat in, GO. Even if it’s just to take back to your hotel. This place was the highlight of our Virginia trip. All smiles after this. I will be back Williamsburg, just for the crab legs that come from here.

I ordered the special platter with fish, oyster, shrimp, and scallops and fries. Everything was fried. The oysters were terible, likely frozen. Bad taste bad bad smell bad texture. Way overrated. Fries nearly no potato. Bathroom small and dirty everywhere. Only 2 people working. Will not return

Open the door. You walk in for the first time, unsure of yourself. You see a deli cold case with fresh caught fish and crab and shrimp. The smell of the dock washes over you, and you begin to think your friend PWN’d you, that this isn’t a place to eat despite the little tables and chairs. DONOTLEAVE. The looks of the place deceive. You have found a hidden gem of Williamsburg. You don’t have time to go down to the docks, so these folks brought the docks to you. Scallops, soft shell crab, shrimp, crawdads – you name it, they’ve got it. So order up. You won’t regret the decision.

Hoping for the best given good Unilocal reviews, big disappointment, 2 adults for lunch. Only one other customer. 1 order of the clam strips, oil not changed, was overcooked, dark brown, too many little bits of batter, expected better, 2nd order was fried shrimp, fried scallops, shrimp ok, yet shrimp appeared to be frozen, nothing special about the scallops, Fries were OK for frozen,

I tried the crab cakes, flounder, shrimp and scallops. All were absolutely fresh and cooked perfectly, with no grease. The scallops were especially awesome, sweet and exactly the right texture. Hush puppies were good, too. They also sell fresh seafood and there are buckets of crabs behind the counter. I’m too much of a wimp to pick through the guts for the bits of meat but if you like crabs this is the place. The only way this place could be better is if they made their own fries instead of using frozen. Yes, it’s a little hole in the wall with cheap furniture that’s been around the block. But with the quality of the seafood and the incredibly low prices, these are notes rather than complaints. It is what it is and doesn’t pretend to be anything else. The lady behind the counter was perfectly nice to me, but I think anycomplaints about the service might be related to the fact that this is a neighborhood place where most of the customers are known to them. While I was there, the counter lady chatted loudly with all the other customers, which might be offputting to some. I was busy on my phone and it didn’t bother me, but it might have dissuaded me from eating in(which I wasn’t planning to do anyway).

Visiting from California and wanted East coast seafood. We stopped by for late lunch to eat in. There are 6 tables for casual dining eat in. So many great choices on the menu and all fresh. We had the daily special-fried sea bass dinner, steamed clams and crab cakes dinner. All cooked fresh and taste was great.

This place is a small Fish Market with a Restaurant. The restaurant is informal, with about 5 tables and help-yourself style. Seems that the best option is having your food to go. Parking lot is limited. We got the«6 Crab Special» which included fried oysters, shrimps, whiting, crab cake and scallops with french fries and hush puppies. We also had the platter with fried trout and the crab cakes. The best were the crab cakes. Overall, the quality of the food was good with serving size portions that are large for the price you are paying.

We were visiting from Florida — so we know our seafood — and we just so happened to pass this little hole-in-the-wall place. AMAZING crabcakes and hushpuppies and clam strips and, well, everything! Like finding a ten dollar bill in your jeans, this was a really pleasant surprise.

This place is good when you eat it fresh right there in the restaurant or bring it to the hotel and eat it right away. It is run by Korean and the setting is a fish market and a few tables and chairs. You pick your own fish and crab and prepare it for you — fried steamed or boil. Oysters on half shell by the dozens 7.99 or 10.99 they open for you. Good fresh local oysters. Friendly family run business with no attitudes. Do not expect any ambience since there is none… Just a fish market with some dirty chairs and tables. If you want real good fresh seafood, go to here… If you want good ambiance and pre frozen seafood and pay a lot more, go somewhere else :) I highly recommend the fresh steam crabs, oysters in half shells and their fried fresh sea bass. I would give 4.5 stars if it has ambiance but there are absolutely none — so 3 stars of 4 for it’s food quality and freshness. This is a local joint off the main strip and right next to «2nd ave» but I doubt 2nd ave’s seafood is fresher than this mom and pa joint.

By far the best crab cakes anywhere! Looks like a little«hole in the wall» but what lies inside is amazing!

Underwhelmed… But willing to give it another try Stopped by on a totally dead Sat AM for lunch… owner not so friendly… Some things good(fried flounder and shrimp), some not so good(fried scallops– chopped up!!!), oysters, and soft– shelled crabs). But maybe stuff was a bit soggy because we were the only ones there… willing to try again when it’s busier– maybe oil will be hotter!!!

Average at best My fried shrimp seemed to have been frozen and covered with a standard frozen shrimp batter. The fried oysters had way too much breading, which was all you could taste. The fried catfish was very good. Overall, average at best. The fries were nasty, the grease needs to be changed. Nice people, though.

This place is actually owned by Koreans, which my husband and I were both quite surprised at. We had their ‘6 Crabs Special,’ which included fried scallops, fried shrimp, fried whiting, fried oysters, and two hush puppies, all on a thick Chinet plate, with a side of cole slaw and a plate of crab cake. With a bottle of water and a can of Coke all set us back to about $ 16, which was great. There was more than enough food for the both of us, and each of the delectable seafood pieces were perfectly battered and fried — love the taste and the texture of each, especially the whiting, which the place de-boned perfectly; the oysters were also free from any sand or grit, and had a burst of ‘juice’ when you bit into them. Don’t let the Sriracha bottle scare you — it’s actually filled with hot sauce. Don’t forget the cocktail and the tartar sauce for your fish. The door was swinging open non-stop the whole entire time we were dining in, and people were calling in for carry out as well as purchasing their fresh sea food. There are only about 4 tables to sit in. The place is small, side parking on the side; unpretentious, great clean fried seafood to get at if you’re in the Williamsburg area — you won’t regret. +‘6 Crabs Special’ +great fried seafood: D
