We had drinks here with friends. Great patio. Chill environment. We will keep in mind when we are wanting to meet friends for drinks in the future.

Great menu! Everything looks delicious, and what menu items I have ordered have been to die for! If you order appetizers, I recommend the mushroom caps. Pleasant atmosphere, and very friendly staff that strive for customer satisfaction.

We loved this place. Great atmosphere just outside of downtown in the Delano neighborhood. We sat at the bar on a Sunday afternoon, had a couple drinks and shared the cheese and sausage tray. Let me tell you, you get a lot of food for the $ 8.99 price and it was more than enough for the two of us(leftovers in the fridge for late night snacking — score!). The atmosphere is open and inviting, modern and casual. Plus there a giant patio for those times when enjoying the nice weather is a priority. Back to the food, the tray included two types of house-smoked cheese, house-smoked sausage, peppers, olives, sliced apple, and naan bread. Each bite was delicious. We almost ordered more food, but this app was plenty for an afternoon bite. Browsing the menu, I noticed that all their sandwiches, ribs, and other entrees feature housed-smoked meat. Pretty cool concept, if you ask me. Looking forward to my next visit to Monarch when I return to Wichita!

#1. The owner is amazing! Love what she did to the place. Great appreciation for art, food, and drinks. #2. The bourbon and whiskey here is EPIC. By far the best selection I have ever seen in our world dominated by IPA brews #3. The food. I am constantly impressed by the delicious food… homemade quality and gastropub style makes it the best«bar» food in Wichita.(This ain’t your chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks type of joint)

Great smoked meats. Good rotating local beers and a great staff for someone passing through.

I came in on Friday ¾/2016 around 9pm, if you’re a Whisky or Bourbon fan, this is the best place in town, they have close to 160 different varieties, it was my first time visiting, I didn’t personally try the food, but my buddies ordered a few things, and their dishes looked pretty good. I tried the Single Barrel flight, at $ 9 it was a great deal. They have a lot of craft beers on tap and large selection of import and domestic bottles. I’ll definitely be back to try the food.

Nice looking spot that has a open air theme. Had the namesake sandwich. The beef Brisket on a French roll with red peppers and cheese. The beef didnt have much taste but the rest of it made up for it. I liked their fries, just the right amount of seasoning. Will go back and try something different thanks to the good atmosphere and friendly service.

Drinks– I feel they skimp on the alcohol at times. Price– average Food– great, very great, rivals a true restaurant not a bar. Service– spotty, there’s been times I’ve had world class service and others when it was sub par. Overall– the location is prime, the the atmosphere is excellent plenty of space and the music is never too loud. You can actually hold a conversation without yelling. I really feel that the drinks lack the right amount of alcohol, a double can pass as a single truthfully. The food makes up the reason for most trips.

The atmosphere is spot on for the more laid back and or trendy folk. Craft Beers AND good smoked meats for sandwiches. I love the outdoor seating area. Even in this cold weather the place is quite warm! The bloody mary is great, a tad small but the $ 5 schooner special on Thursday totally made up for it! Reasonably priced and I had the Brisket Royale sammy. I suggest getting the horse radish sauce on the side but it is great!

Love this place! Best bourbon selection in the region. Service is friendly and quick. I love the turkey and cream cheese sandwich, the sprouts on it are perfect. They have a great selection of craft beer including several Kansas beers on draft if you’re looking for local brew. When the weather is nice the patio is the place to be. Great for larger groups of people. Plenty of room and a nice view of the neighborhood. A great stop over after taking in a Wingnuts game at Lawrence Dumont next door. I’ve been here many many times and have always enjoyed it. The owner Jen is a gem, too. She treats you like family. Check it out! Highly recommended.

The Monarch is a newer establishment in the Delano district, but it quickly became the premier location in the area! With a great sandwich based menu, gourmet cocktails, local beers on tap, and an exceptional wait staff; The Monarch is a hard place to beat! My favorite quality about The Monarch is their patio experience. Their patio wraps around over 50 percent of the building in a very open, social setting. You get to observe all the happenings of Delano as it sits right at the roundabount. Additionally, the restaurant is wide open to the patio through large garage doors, so walking in and out to socialise is extremely natural and pleasant. If it’s a nice day and you are looking for an outdoor bar and grill experience, The Monarch is the place to be!

Usually very happy with this place. Has a nice hipster vibe in the Delano district, and a good beer selection. We went with some friends for drinks, around 9pm on a Thursday night. It was suggested by the waitress we order the«Schooner» of beer for $ 0.50 extra. Great! 22oz instead of 16oz the waitress said. So we did. Upon further investigation we found the 22oz «Schooner» was actually 16oz. Lighthearted and jovial after 1 drink, I didn’t need the extra 6oz of beer anyway. Jokingly, I mentioned to the waitress, «watch this». I poured a full 16oz pint into the«22oz Schooner» showing her that both drinks were equivalent. Well the reaction I got wasn’t what I expected. She immediately became defensive, and said, «OK, what do you want me to do with that information, huh?» with a scowl. Someone was having a bad day. Or I’d like to give the benefit of the doubt. Within a few minutes, we asked for a check, and it was brought to us 15 minutes later. I had to flag down another waitress, as ours was cleaning tables for another 20 minutes.

Had the Reuben. Nice balance of sauerkraut, nice tender smoked corned beef, and plenty of melted cheese. Bread was nice and crisp too. Side I chose the warm potato salad. This is more like potato soup… I will stick with the sweet potato tots for future orders.

A couple of friends and I went here on a Sunday night. I ordered the Chicken and Spinach Sandwich with the house seasoned chips. The chips were good and crispy but could use a more seasoning. Like many other reviewers my sandwich had good flavor but was on the dry side. I actually had to use ketchup to add another flavor profile. I’m sure if there was more artichoke dip it would be much better. The service was great. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. I really enjoy the atmosphere at this restaurant. I would come back again, but would try other selections on the menu. They have a wide selection of drinks to choose from.

As I said earlier, the environment is excellent. Colliding the environment with taste bud exploding food will make your head spin. Our server Charlie was top notch. Get out of suburbia and get downtown now.

The Monarch is exactly what Delano needed. A gastropub located close to downtown, this is one of my favorite places to dine. The service is always fast and friendly, the drinks are great, and the food is always delicious. I have to order the spinach and artichoke dip every time I’m there, it’s my favorite item on the menu. It’s so creamy and full of flavor but the veggies allow it to not be too filling so I can still chow down on my entrée. I recently tried the grilled cheese which was rich and filling. The sweet potato tots are A+, especially dunked in ranch! I love the variety of infused vodkas The Monarch offers. The garlic infused vodka in the Bloody Mary is sooo good! The atmosphere of the bar is some of the best in town. The local art and light fixtures are stylish and fun, the seating is plentiful, the patio is huge, and the pool table is great for after dinner fun!

Sunny and beautiful in Wichita for my visit, did a walk along the river where Unilocal led me here. I started with the stuffed portabella mushrooms. They were good but not great. I would have loved more cream cheese in them. I followed it with the sausage and cheese tray… I should have gotten this first, as it was huge. They apparently smoke their own meat and cheeses. The platter also came with olives, pita bread and peppadew peppers… this was my first time having those peppers, and they were awesome. About the size of a cherry tomato with a sweet and spicy taste. Next time I would ask for more peppers and less cheese :)

The Monarch is a breath of fresh air for the Delano neighborhood. With it’s huge variety of whiskey and delicious gastro-pub menu it definitely stands out. It has one of the best patios in the city with a great view of the roundabout clock tower. The interior has some of the coolest art I’ve seen. The high top tables and light fixtures all look handmade and super awesome. I really love their spinach & artichoke dip. It’s served in a bread bowl with carrot sticks and cucumber slices. I can’t pin down what exactly makes it stand out above others but it just really hits the spot. I typically get The Monarch, perfectly smoked juicy brisket with sautéed red peppers, and melted provolone cheese. But I decided to try something new. The chicken & pesto flatbread didn’t disappoint. I look forward to returning and eventually trying everything on the menu!

I knew just from looking at this place I would like it. Set at the end of the roundabout in the Delano district, with giant garage doors that open onto a perfect patio for potent potables, this is my favorite kind of outpost. Luckily for me, the food and the service stand up to the promising exterior. The affable Shelley took good care of us, offering helpful suggestions and keeping my club soda properly topped off! I loved the setup inside. Some tall tables, looking all handmade and industrial, lower tables outside of the cocktail area, and just the right amount of bric a brac. This was just right: something interesting everywhere you look, but not just a bunch of random crap covering every flat surface like you see some places. It also seemed like everything was meaningful, important to someone at the Monarch. It was kind of a weird time to eat, but I wanted to have a bite before getting back on the road for OKC, so we split the spinach artichoke dip(served with crisp veggies and we added a side of naan), the pesto chicken flatbread, and I got a fresh side salad that was sort of a meal all on its own. The salad was absolutely delicious, thanks to really fresh noms and a really excellent honey mustard dressing. The spinach dip was also among some of the best I’ve had. The entire tab clocked in at under $ 20, color my expense account happy! I will absolutely be back to try more of this fun, affordable menu and enjoy the great music and the cool atmosphere.
