Whittier Seventh-Day Adventist Church

Overall (³⁄₅): Overall this Seventh-​day Adventist church has a more subdued, traditional service that fits an older crowd. The head pastor gives a gentle tone of message that is nice to hear. The people are genuinely kind and welcoming.
Welcomeness: When I entered this SDA church I was greeted upon entry. The congregation was also very welcoming!
Environment/​The Building: The Sanctuary was full of color from the plant décor and wall décor. It was set up in a traditional setting with cushioned pews that the congregation filled to about 30%. It’s a smaller church, with a smaller congregation. It does have a good audio and visual system for displaying and helping with the service.
Atmosphere in church /​The Feel: The colors made it vibrant and the plant décor created a more welcoming and comfortable feeling. It felt empty with only 30% of the capacity was filled and as it was a traditional service, it was more reflected and subdued.

Sermon: For this Sabbath the head pastor preached the sermon. He did a well job with the sermon, filling it with stories that helped explain the message while also embedding scripture. He was an older pastor, giving a gentle and inviting tone for his delivery of sermon. It was great how he added his bits of wisdom advice as it helped bring clarity to the message. The pastor speaks from a genuine and authentic place and used 35 minutes to deliver his points.

Service: The Whittier Seventh-​day Adventist church has a traditional SDA service. It included a testimony time which was inspiring and uplifting, but also felt that some of the sharings were commercialized evangelical stories. Due to the random sharing from the congregation, this shows more about the people that go to the church rather than the type of church itself, however, it was great that it gave a chance for people to share how God is working in lives. It is a quiet and more meditative service.
