Food is good, stick to fish or shrimp tacos. I ordered potato tacos and were alright, for $ 9 I expect some flavor, no salt no seasoning at all, taco shells are like the ones you buy at the grocery store. Not bad but nothing I would come for, on the other hand my co worker really liked his fish and shrimp tacos so you might try that.

This place never disappoints !!! Always Quick & friendly service. The shrimp burrito is ginormous, the grilled shrimp tacos and shrimp cocktails are on shrimp overload((in a good way))

I usually visit the Whittier/Painter location. Today I came here and ordered my usual fish tacos. They were delicious just like other location. The plus side here first is the parking way less of a hassle second the service here didn’t come with attitude from cashiers mad at the world. Yellow chile’s here were toasted. They also had a red Chile that went well with tacos. I’ll most likely stick to this location.

I love fish tacos. Ensenada style. These are quite possibly the best I’ve ever had. Everything was fresh. The fish was nice and crispy. I had a shrimp taco too. That was lovely as well. They have $.99 fish tacos on Wednesdays. I say skip the line and come in another day and they are a $ 1.75 each.

I’m sure some of you guys on Unilocal didn’t get a chance to have tacos on Taco Tuesday. Guess what? You’re all in luck, because Tacos Baja does have fish taco for $ 0.99 on Taco Wednesday(except Ash Wednesday). No need to wait ’til next Tuesday for tacos. It’s an hot spot taco place located on Whittier Blvd near Virginia Ave in Whittier. For dinner last Wednesday night, I got myself 3 fish tacos for $ 0.99 each. Size of the tacos are pretty reasonable. The fish tacos includes fried fish(obviously), tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and some special sauce which I do not know what it is. It actually very good for a Taco Wednesday at a low cost. Some other time I came to Tacos Baja, I had fish taco and Baja’s taco. The Baja’s taco tastes so good. Baja’s taco includes fried fish and fried shrimp and some usual stuff on it. Very flavorful. The only thing is, it costs $ 3.49 each, but still worth the money in my book. Their parking can be an real pain, but there’s street side parking which I highly recommend parking there if parking inside is full, especially on a Wednesday as it can get kind of crowded. Service here is pretty good. Very nice employees you got here. Overall, It’s a great place for tacos and some other great stuff. Excellent tacos for sure!!! I was definitely hooked on their tacos. Thanks for reading! Christopher M aka Mr. Elite!!!

Oh man. These fish tacos are so incredibly good. That hot salsa they give you is so money too. It’ll burn your lips off, but it’s so worth the pain. I thought it was a pretty good marketing tool to do Taco Wednesdays instead of Taco Tuesdays. My only regret was not ordering at least 10 fish tacos for myself.

There are different degrees of joy and bliss and to name a few… 1. When your Amazon packages arrives. 2. When the car in front of you buys your drink at the Starbucks Drive Thru. 3. When you hit a game winning shot. 4. When a prayer is answered. Come on a Wednesday and feel the power of what kind of happiness a $ 0.99 taco can do for you. And I’m not talking about a taco smaller than the palm of a child’s hand, how most Taco Tuesday restaurants lure you in by. Similar to the almighty and never changing cost of the Costco hot dog, the fish tacos here keeps their delicious integrity and remains one of the best bang for your buck deals in Southern California. Look at this Unilocal page on your Unilocal app because I posted quite a few helpful tips. Here are a few: 1. Get here early for dinner because parking will be an issue and there will be a line. 2. Bathroom is in the back and you don’t need a key. 3. There’s a sliced lime, radish and sweated chili pepper sprinkled with chili powder bar. 4. You can request for the tacos to be separated by the container(recommended if you’re buying for other people). 5. Credit cards are accepted with no fee! You would expect a catch for a delicious $ 0.99 taco right? 6. The good brand of the aguas frescas, Festival. Festival and Fiesta are the only brands of horchata, jamaica, tamarindo and pina I trust. Tacos Baja deserves a standing ovation. If you see a Korean guy with Nike apparel, standing outside and clapping by himself in front of the entrance because he is content and feeling good, well, you know who it is.

The baja fried and grilled fish tacos are amazing! Comparable to Ensenada fish tacos. Love the shredded lettuce, pico de gallo, crema, salsa, and of course, the generous portion of fish. Just try them… you will get hooked.

I don’t post reviews too often on Unilocal unless I am deeply moved in one way or another, but Tacos Baja deserves all the praise. I’m deducting a star for the slightly cramped seating on the inside, but they also have patio seating if you need space to wave your arms around while munching on their delicious food. I’m also not a huge fan of the cucumber water but if that’s your jam, get at it, cause they do it here. Even when it’s packed, the service is quite fast. A nice little parking lot behind the restaurant(which you appreciate so much when you spend a lot of time in LA), and they also have street parking if you prefer. Disclaimer: We’ve only ever tried the tacos, so this part of the review refers purely to tacos. Because. tacos are love. They specialize in seafood, obviously, but don’t let that detract from their barbacoa, which is ONPOINT! My boyfriend and I have consistently been coming here for several months now, and the fried shrimp and fish tacos are pure love, but he’s a big fan of the carnitas and I always get barbacoa after trying it here. I am really not a huge fan of shrimp just in general, but I always must have shrimp tacos when I come to tacos baja. They got the flavor down pat and the pricing is more than fair. All in all, this is a pretty humble hole-in-the-wall kind of place with cheap and delicious mexican fare and fast service. aka juuust right.

Great shrimp cocktails and Baja style fish tacos. The employees love their job and for some reason most of the customers were dressed to the 9’s.

My son ate shrimp here and never again will he eat at this so called restaurant. He was diagnosed with salmonella and colitis. He was in the ER for almost 10 hrs with severe stomach pain and fever. Not to mention going to the bathroom every 30 mins passing blood clots! His white cell blood count was so high because of the serious infection. This place serves food containing bacteria. There must be others out there who contracted this infection. BEWARE !! Don’t eat here.

Ever since I found this place on Unilocal,I have been coming here once a week. This taco place primarily serves seafood: soups, tacos, ceviche, shrimp(or other seafood) cocktail, etc. The food is really fresh because the restaurant has a high turnover of customers. I tried the caldo mixdo once and have been hooked ever since. It is actually super healthy because it is a tomato-based soup that is loaded with seafood and vegetables. My bf would often get the pescado ceviche tostada. Coming here after a gym session has become our weekend routine-gotta get that lean protein! Oh but if you want oil dripping off of your food, don’t worry… they have fried stuff too. Fyi, you definitely won’t come here for the atmosphere because it is pretty much a hole in the wall, but the line extending out of the door on a daily basis tells you that this place is going to be awesome. It can get very busy around lunch and dinner time, and if you grab a to-go order to avoid the crowd, be sure to double check your order for accuracy-I speak from experience!

Cute little hut located right by the street. Fish Tacos(1.69) — Huge tacos!!! The batter of the fish wasn’t crispy, which was a let down. But the flavors were all there. Bajas Taco(3.25) — So good! This includes fried fish and fried shrimp! Now, this one was fried perfectly. I just wished there was more tartar sauce on top! Fish Ceviche Tostada(2.25) — The fish is actually cooked for their ceviche compared to the raw fish you typically find elsewhere. I thought it was whatever — nothing special. The only downside of this restaurant is they don’t have a salsa bar! FISHTACOONWEDNESDAYFOR A DOLLAR! Yep, Wednesday.

MOUTHGASM! Yes, my friends, this place is SO incredibly yummy! From the outside it kind of looks like a dump, but these have got to be the best tacos I’ve had north of the border! If I lived closer I wouldn’t need a kitchen. I am totally in love with everything I’ve ever had at Tacos Baja. Cocktails galore… shrimp cocktails, octopus cocktails, clam, scallops, or mixed! So jam packed full of seafood that there’s barely any room for the zippy cocktail sauce. Holy, mother of pearl, these are bueno! There are 2 sizes, so have a lot or have a LOT! Ceviche, burritos and tacos are all also served with the same variety of juicy fish and crustaceans. And don’t stop there… add to the list some quesadillas, caldos and sopes! It’s like my dream come true to look at the menu. I’d have to say that after trying almost everything on their menu, I’ve landed at my favorite item to try and tempt you with, and that would be the Baja’s Taco. A size or two above street tacos and so completely crammed full and overflowing with fish, fried shrimp, cabbage, juicy goodness and love that you can’t even come close to closing it in order to hand feed your skull cave. You’ve got to eat a few chunks out first with a fork. Seafood aside… their meat items are also completely delish! Burritos are GINORMOUS and cooked up to order just perfect. I love their carnitas burrito… one of my favorites in town. Even though I love them, I rarely get them because with seafood like that it’s hard to pass up! But occasionally I grab a burrito to keep in the fridge for a future meal. There’s also a little condiment bar with lime wedges, jumbo grilled peppers, radishes and other necessities. Be sure to enjoy complementary chilled cucumber water as you wait for your order… and trust me, you’ll have to wait. This place is always busting at the seams with people, but the wait is so worth it! FISHTACOWEDNESDAYWARNING: On Wednesdays the line is crazy nuts long with it heading out the doors and onto the patio with people setting their tastebuds up for 99 cent fish tacos. I’ve actually never been on Wednesday(yet) because I’ll pay the extra couple cents to not wait on a different day. But it always looks like a party in line! It’s a gem that, as much as I wanted to keep it hidden, is just too good to not share and it seems lots of people are finally noticing it for themselves. FORGOD’S SAKEPEOPLE, you have to try this place! CHEERS!!!

Fish taco Wednesdays(except for Ash Wednesday)! Eats: Fish tacos with their rice and beans Takes: A nice sized battered cod dressed with their crema, tomatoes, onions, cilantro, and special sauce! Their rice and beans are great complements to your tacos, but I really do go here for the tacos and their juicy chilies dusted in chili powder! Service: They are really good at refilling the napkins, chilies, utensils, etc at their bar. Parking: This can be a headache, especially if you come on fish taco Wednesdays. There’s a small lot by the restaurant near the apt complex. Tip: Drop your car off next door for a car wash and walk over to get your fish tacos. Chances are, your car will be ready(or even sooner) by the time you get your tacos on a busy Wednesday. Price: On Wednesdays(except Ash Wednesday) fish tacos are $ 0.99 each. On Ash Wednesday and any other day, they are around twice the price, which is still pretty good considering the quality you get. I always thought they were joking about the regular price on Ash Wednesday, but I happen to go on Ash Wednesday, and they disclosed it to you right before you order(just in case you didn’t read closely to their signs). Bottom line: Go here for your fish taco Wednesday fix! Highly recommended.

Good God their tacos and burritos are the BOMB! Watch out for Wednesdays 99 cents fish tacos special and if your like me, maybe try to avoid that day if your not digging waiting in line(However, it is worth the wait!). I love this location more than the one on Painter, it’s just too crowded and line is honestly out the door of the establishment; you think the food was free. But again I emphasize it still worth the wait. I usually get the shrimp burrito, which are so good! Hubby gets Baja, also good. Pretty much all of the tacos and burritos are good. The seasoned roasted yellow peppers are also really good. I’ve never eaten the other food, but based on the reviews, I’m not interested in anything other than their burritos & tacos. No complaints whatsoever, so please don’t let the long lines scare you away, its just that good! Parking can be an issue here too, but you can park out in the streets, there’s plenty of room and once you’ve eaten here, it doesn’t become an issue walking to it.

I’ve had Campechanas in many places! There have been some terrible ones and some that were so-so! The one I had here at Tacos Baja was worth every penny! I came in for a quick lunch and was just going to have the Shrimp Burrito and the hubby was having the Baja Burrito! We had already placed and paid for the order when I decided I wanted extra avocado! Well its a minimum of $ 5.00 to use a credit card and the side of avocado was $ 1.60. So I thought why not try the Campechana! I ordered a small so I wouldn’t be too disappointed! BIGGESTMISTAKEEVER! It was so good, they pack that cup as much as they can and then on top they put slices of avocado! It’s just packed with so much deliciousness! All they need here is their liquor license! A cold beer would taste so good with this! Oh and of course they have those amazing roasted chiles slightly powdered with chili powder! It’s a small restaurant so of course the line is going to be long but it moves very fast! We came in at about 12:45 and there was only two people ahead of us… by the time we ate and left the line was crazy. It was all the way near the parking lot but it’s worth it! The parking is small but then again people are coming and going so there is always a spot opening! Restrooms are located outside in the back of the restaurant! TIP: $ 5.00 minimum for credit card use and remember to get the LARGECAMPECHANA and bring it to me! :) Four stars!

Tacos Baja is a very popular joint on Wednesdays. The best tasting fish tacos are only 99 cents on this day. There is always a line, but don’t worry, it moves fast. These are baja style tacos, the fish filet is deep fried, well seasoned and cooked to perfection. Served on top of two warm corn tortillas and stuffed with Mexican style chopped tomato, shredded cabbage, cilantro, pico de gallo, salsa and fresh crema. Absolutely delicious! You’ll need a fork to finish it off, half of the slaw is left on your plate when you pick up the taco. Sliced radishes and lime are offered at the condiment table. Other choices on the menu range from shrimp tacos, fish burritos and shrimp, octopus, clam or scallop cocktails. Iv’e been here many times, an order of two fish tacos is plenty for most appetites. Even at the regular price of $ 1.69 each, it’s still a bargain. Is it Wednesday yet?
