Catered my work lunch for 110 people and everyone loved it. The cheese enchiladas, rice, beans, and chips were delicious. They gave us a 5 gallon tub of guacamole salsa! I wasn’t crazy about the beef taquitos, but I would definitely order from them again.

Food was below okay .
Okay means I would eat it again .
This I wouldn’t .
Ambiance: good enough
Clean: yes ! It’s actually clean I always judge how clean a restaurant is by they restroom, and Señor Peppers has a very nice restroom with looks and smells clean. (
Service: okay, I guess
Food: I got the green salsa burrito sauce had no flavor & the beans seemed to be out of a can, I would say probably 2 tablespoons of meat & lots of unnecessary onion .
Chips were below okay & SALSA was below okay also.
The water that they offered was actually pretty drinkable compared to other places (thumb up for that !)
Price: I spent 9.70 on 1 burrito & chips I think that is about 3 dollars over priced since the food isn’t good .
Now I really hope they fix the food because it’s a nice place to have lunch at, maybe make the burrito better & charge more?

The best Mexican food in Whittier and la Mirada. The food is wonderful !!! the food is so authentic. Her recipes are the best and exactly what Mexican food from tradition recipes is suppose to be like! Fresh salsa all the time and did I mention they have the best salsa bar ever !! So finger licking good

This place is now a far cry from what it used to be. I’ve never had a burrito I couldn’t finish… Until I came here. Let’s start with the chips, they charge you for them. How about a carne asada burrito with a tablespoon of meat? Not to mention The meat was dry and old. Barf. The bean and cheese burrito is horrid. How do you mess that up!!! Perhaps this place should consider using refried beans like the rest of the free world. I’ll stick with senior campos if I want a sit down Mexican joint. Better yet, one of those good old taquerias. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. Gross.

Came in for lunch today. Worse nachos I’ve even had! They used a paper plate put the chips about 5 pieces of meat, and beans the used the microwave to heat the cheese up!!! Attached on photos, never coming back! Paid $ 9 for nothing threw my plate away!

Use to be my favorite spot around E. Whittier food is not as good as it used to be the service has took a horrible turn the old lady who runs the place used to be sweet and make sure the food was great she is now bitter the food is mediocre just today I gave another chance and my cheese enchiladas have chicken I do not eat chicken horchata is 90% ice

This is probably the best food Ive eaten, good wholesome cooking bringing back those wonderful memories of Grandma and her traditional Mexican style Dishes. I absolutely love the fresh guacamole made daily, Yes better then Chipotles. Be sure to try the Chili Verde as its scrumptious. I also recommend the Carne Asada Burrito and the delicious Chorizo con Huevo plate was so delicious. I highly recommend eating here, been a customer here for many years and always enjoy. Clean, friendly, and great food, what more can you ask for.

I really wanted to like this place. Been looking good crispy tacos. This crispy beef taco was all lettuce and some potato. I ordered a beef taco not a beef and potato taco. I guess they use potatoes as fillers. Might try the place again but not the tacos.

Great local place, been coming here since high school. Their crunchy tacos are messy as all get out, but delicious. Great prices and can call your order in if you are in a rush, will keep coming back for more!

Great little Mexican restaurant in Whittier. My husband is obsessed with their carne asada burrito and the salsa bar is awesome! We stop by often for lunch.

Not sure what all the fuss is about. Food wise nothing special & overpriced. However service was nice and place was extremely clean! Overall, my food was ok but I wouldn’t go back.

No Gringo salsa sold here! I am a chips & salsaholic. I’ve seen the green chili tomatillos on the grill. I suggest you ask first before you set your taste buds on fire.
When I want tacos & beer I come here.
The Crispy tacos take me back to my childhood memories of home cooking.
Especially the frijoles. Reminds me of my Nanas To the previous reviewers complaining about price well try Taco Bell. I’ve never had a problem or seen anyone else
there being misunderstood when ordering.
Who cares about kids meals & soda refills when you have a self serve beer fridge.
When I’m there I feel welcomed, as if she was inviting me into her kitchen. I respect that, after all they are feeding you.

I have been coming here for 19 years. Great people, great food, clean restaurant, bathroom as well. what else is there.

Fail on the price.
$ 15 per fatass, about $ 10-​$ 15 per head.
Chile Relleno:
Kind of disgusting. The breading was 2x larger than the Chile. I kind of ate the chile with one bite. #Fail.
Enchilada:
The chicken enchilada was ok. I think the beef or cheese would have tasted better. The enchilada was sauce tasted like a hybrid commericialized sauce. I mean, they grab enchilada sauce from the can and add cheese, salt, pepper, cumin, etc to it. That is what it tasted like on my pallet. I can be wrong though. However, I would like to try the other enchiladas.
Chip:
The best part. Chips here are made and deep fried in house.
Rice:
For Mexican rice, it was on the better side of things. They did not cheat you and use ketchup for the «tomato» flavoring like most cheap mexican spots do. The rice had actual tomatoes in them!!!
Beans:
Horrible.
Service:
La Bomba. I mean… i would come back here just cause the service was that damn good =)

Dude I paid 12 bucks for a skimp ass carnitas plate only gets 3 stars for the ok service and the food was pretty good but fuck the price and it says on here it closes at 730 they kicked us out at 630 said they were closing

Way too overpriced! Customer service lacked a lot, when I went up to order the lady looked like she hated her life! Food was okay. Overall will not come back!

So, I worked in whittier today and noticed this place near subway.
I came back for dinner, it’s a cute little place you can dine-​in or take your food to go. If you do decide to eat there I noticed you have to grab your own menu & sit yourself and then go stand in line to order…
I ordered to go so that wasn’t a problem.
They were quick and efficient they lady that took my order was really nice. That’s kind of where the 3-​stars come from; the place being clean and them being nice. The food was good, however for the price I could get something where the food is GREAT and pay ¹⁄₃ less. It’s pretty expensive don’t get me wrong it’s good but I’ve had better.
Since I don’t work in Whittier and I’m hardly ever that way, I guess this would be that place I go if I need to get my fix for Mexican food since right around the corner from the facility.
Even though it’s kind of high I would come back. The tacos were delicious, really TRY the tacos (chicken tacos soft)

Pretty good chicken enchilada combo with rice and beans. Good salsa.
Not as cheap as some other places for the same quality and quantity.
But, I would definitely come back again if I am in the area.
