#TacoTuesday in full effect! We had the Asada tacos, pastor & chile verde sopes, chicken flautitas, queso fundido con chorizo and piña nopal agua fresca… sí señor! Everything was delicious but my favorite was the queso fundido with handmade tortillas. Out of the green & red salsas hands down the red takes it. There was no waiting, parking is small it’s better to park in the street(imo). The staff was super friendly, our waitress kept checking in and was considerate to our son’s needs. The service was fast and prices were reasonable. Can’t wait to go back and try other items on the menu.

We also got the queso con chorizo with handmade corn tortillas. The hand made is big. I liked the service. Both waiters were great. Paid attention and were nice. The chips and salsa great as well if u like a tangy spice go with the green. More spice go with the red. if i have anything bad to say it the parking becareful comomg out. All in all a great expierience i will be back.

Amazing michelada and hand made tortillas. Their fondido is to die for. It’s so delicious. Haven’t had a dish I don’t like from this spot. All their food is freshly made and the best authentic Mexican food you can find at a restaurant.

The chorizo appetizer was amazing but my Carne Asada burrito was a little bland. Service was great too!

Food: aguachiles with shrimp and cheese quesadilla Drink: michelada Wasn’t super starving so my party of 2 ordered light. Chips and 2 different salsas are offered: green and red. While we usually like green salsa in general, the red salsa stole the show. You could really taste the smokiness of the peppers. Aguachiles were spicy and different than I’ve had in the past. The raw shrimp was ok but several were not de-veined so that kind of grossed me out. Taste was good but couldn’t handle the heat after consuming about half the dish. Cheese quesadilla was good. Lots of butter used, but it didn’t come with sour cream and lettuce like the menu said. Michelada was good. One of the reasons I didn’t make a fuss about the quesadilla missing several sides was that service was lacking. After ordering we never saw our female server again. She was nice enough when we first sat down but acted like she had better things to do. Also backing up to when we first walked in, she and the male employee at the front counter were looking at a phone. We had to greet them first to get their attention. I used to frequent Santi’s(the previous establishment) and always received great service. Not sure what happened here. I have gotten take out in the past and their food is usually super tasty, especially the breakfast. I may not return for another dine in experience if its going to get in the way of the food.

I will preface this review by noting that most of the dishes here are really good; highly recommend the carnitas! Unfortunately, the food is not good enough to get me to come back. Our last visit, we ordered a caldo and a few tacos. It took almost an hour to get our food, we had to ask for chips while we waited about 4 times(due to the tiny, scarce portion they bring you), and the servers do not provide follow up or check on your food often enough. When we received our caldo(which was camaron, yet it tasted like bland chicken soup), they did not bring any needed sides(cilantro, onion, lime, tortillas). We waited about 10 – 15 trying to get their attention and then waiting for them to bring sides. We asked for tortillas; our server said«Itll be about 15 minutes and we charge extra.» That was it for us. We explained that in 15 minutes, the caldo would be cold, defeating the purpose of ordering tortillas. She gave us a blank look and just waited– body language was clearly saying«tough luck guys, deal with it.» To try and enjoy our meal, we asked for tostadas instead(to avoid the wait time), she said that would be extra as well… tostadas for a caldo de camarones, EXTRA… thats nuts! We still agreed, and to our enjoyment, she brought us a basket with 4 broken pieces of tostada, cumulatively didnt even add up to 1 whole tostada. We couldnt take anymore at that point. We asked for the check, expressed our dissatisfaction with both the food and the service, and still no apology or explanation. We have not returned since and very likely will not.

It was my first time eating here and the food was very delicious. I had the enchilada plate. And you can’t leave those Home Made Corn Tortillas out #1. Everything they serve is finger licking. Their prices are very cheap so I will be back SOON… And Yup I got My free FLAN, THANKYOU Unilocal.

Came on a fairly busy Friday night and everything was perfect! We started with the queso appetizer which was awesome then we had sopes and enchiladas and carnitas all of which was fantastic. Flan for desert was delicious too and the service was great too always making sure drinks were filled and seeing if we needed anything else. We will deff be back and highly recommend this place. Only thing I would say is try parking on the street as the parking in the back is a little tight.

We took a chance on this place and it paid off. The cheese n chorizo appetizer was a meal but we handle. Then the molcajete was another challenge to finish but it was so delicious we just kept eating until it was all gone. It’s a small place but we didn’t feel overcrowded. The service was fast and friendly but the draw here is the bomb ass food. We can’t wait to go back. It’s been a month already and that’s just too long of a wait.

El queso fondido was fabulous! The carne asada was flavorful, perfectly cooked and delicious. They were so generous with their servings in all the plates our party ordered. The margaritas were yummy. The alcohol in each serving was just right — not too strong or weak. The service was excellent. We will be making this location a regular for our date nights. I felt comfortable inviting friends to this restaurant for couples nights as well.

Great food and drinks. The wife and I stopped by to have lunch. I had the swordfish, aguachiles and a Michelada, it was perfect. Priced right and great music.

This place is the bomb! We had the queso fundido, and the molcajete. We were able to substitute the nopales for shrimp at an additional cost, but we didn’t mind. The queso fundido was amazing, and the molcajete was full of flavor. The steak was tender and delicious! Molcajete has chorizo at the bottom but it gave the steak, chicken and shrimp much more flavor. Will definitely come back! Finally a good place here in Whittier!

We were greeted and seated immediately upon arrival there were chips and salsa on our table about the same time we sat down. The service was outstanding! The drinks were delicious! We had micheladas, Mexican lollipop shots, and white gummy bear shots. They were all sooo good! The food was delicious as well! The handmade corn tortillas are a must. We will definitely be back!

Such a disappointment for trying to help out a local restaurant on Small Business Saturday. Drinks & food took too long considering the place was empty. The guacamole appetizer, soup & dinner entrée all came out at the same time except for my boyfriends plate that was 10 minutes after & cold as mine since I waifed for his plate to be served The server asked why I was sending my soup back If anything was wrong with it. I told her yes you’re not supposed to to bring it out with the main course. And I asked when is my boyfriends food coming out because it’s rude to start without him. No clue to manners & restaurant etiquette The dinner was not worth the wait. Should’ve asked for a manager but we already decided to not return & refer this place.

Unfortunately I can’t rate this place on the food because we never ate. Walked in on a Sunday before noon. The place was a little crowded but we got seated quick. That was the only good thing about our experience here. We sat in the booth for 15 minutes without anyone even bringing us chips and salsa or taking our drink order. We stopped the waitress that kept walking by us at about the 10 minute mark and we told her nobody had come to the table. Her response: «did you seat yourselves?» No. We were seated. Can we get someone? She walked away and muttered«it will probably be me» That was the last thing we heard from her. She proceeded to bring chips and salsa to a table 5 feet from us and the party came in a good while after us. She walked by us and never made eye contact. We tried to get her attention and she just ignored our table. I didn’t get her name because she never was at our table long enough to read a name badge but she had a huge tattoo of lips on her neck. We finally had to ask the lady that seated us for someone o come to our table. A guy came and I asked for menudo. ” oh, we are out of menudo.“ Son of a bitch! Walked out after 20 minutes with no drink and no food. We will NOT be back. I wish I could give less than one star for this horrible waitress.
