Passing through White Sulphur Springs on our way back to Virginia, my mother and I stopped at April’s for a late lunch on a Monday. It was the first time we’ve ever been to April’s Pizzeria — and it was a wonderful surprise! We were greeted and then seated — we opted for the salad bar and a large pizza. The salad bar was the freshest salad bar I have ever come across in a pizzeria. Everything was very fresh!(Including the iced tea) The pizza was delicious. Friendly service, great prices, tasty pizza — I can’t emphasize enough how fresh the food was — we will be sure to come back next time we’re in White Sulphur Springs!

While staying at the Greenbrier me and my wife wanted a quick supper due to snowy road conditions caused by the Blizzard of 2016AKA Jonas! April’s did not disappoint, and this place was awesome! The prices were extremely reasonable the side of onion rings was just $ 2.95 and it was huge! The rings were great as well! The fried green tomatoes were great and a meal in itself! I had the fried pickles and Ruben! The pickles were cooked perfectly and served hot with the portion size just right! The Ruben was not the normal Ruben that I have had at other places, but this one was awesome! The bread was there homemade dough bread used for their other bread items, but this bread was so fresh and tasty! The rest of Ruben was just like all other Rubens and tasted great! The cost was amazing too only $ 4.80 with pickle and chips which is crazy cheap, but it was large as well! This Ruben was so worth it!

Wow, maybe we came on an off day for lunch! Pulled in about 1:30 on a Sunday, on the way to The Greenbrier with my husband and daughter, mom, and aunt and uncle(party of 6). Salad bar was fresh and clean — that is, the few items(lettuce, cauliflower, tomatoes) on it that were not straight from a can. The rest of the bar consisted of canned and pickled items, which are ok but for the price you would hope to have more fresh produce and nuts/toppings that aren’t straight from a value bin. My husband and mom split the Reuben. Please don’t call a sandwich a Reuben if it is served on anything BUT rye sandwich bread that is grilled or at least hot! This was served on some type of roll that looked similar to a torta/arepa, and not grilled. Worst of all — and the reason for one star — is the fact that my aunt and uncle did not receive their food until 10 – 15 minutes after my mom and my family did! They weren’t terribly busy — I suspect based on how the rest of lunch went down that the waitress forgot to key in their order. Aunt ordered a tuna salad that seemed passable, but my uncle’s dish was an unmitigated disaster. He ordered their«specialty» — a steak and cheese turnover, or calzone as most call it. Since the order hadn’t been put in, it was clear that they then rushed through preparing it in order to shorten his wait time after everyone else received their food. When it FINALLY arrived, it appeared as a sad, massive lump of undercooked dough. Sure enough, the dough was raw and the steak inside was also raw to «rare»(at best). They didn’t charge him for it, to be fair, but it was completely inedible. We won’t be back!

Calzone and burgers are pretty good sometime. The food not consistent. One day I get hamburger and it delicious and the next it all dry.

It is a cute local spot with decent food & excellent service. I enjoyed the salad bar personally. The Barbie Collection at the check out desk was enjoyable & impressive! I recommend this to families looking for options in town!

Had a delicious pizza and not-so-spectacular salad here last week. Service was good and pizza was very good. Salad bar was sort of what you would expect, but included ice burg and romaine lettuce and a small variety of veggies. Red bacon bits were a total turn-off, as were bottled dressings but as I said… what one would expect.

Perfect place for a quick bite away from The Greenbrier Hotel. Excellent service and quality pizza. Salad bar was pretty decent as well. For lovers of fresh dough pizza and quality sauce that isn’t too sweet, this is safe bet. Prices are reasonable as well. Reminded me of the old Noble Romans style, if that means anything to you. Solid place all around.

Empty restaurant on a snowy evening allowed me to overcome the 90 minute wait for outrageously expensive room service pizza at the Greenbrier with hot, tasty carry out from April’s. Staff was nice and friendly.

Exactly what you’d want for casual eat-in or take-out pizza and Italian sandwiches. The XL pizza was not terribly large but fed our family of 5 nicely. We also had the salad, which was a simple mixed greens with cucumbers, cauliflower, mushrooms and iceberg with a simple oil-vinegar dressing akin to that of any self-respecting pizza place. The pizza was deliciously fresh. The crust was doughy and yummy. I prefer thin crust and crispy but this was still very satisfying. We had spaghetti and marinara which made everyone happy as well. The service couldn’t have been more friendly and professional, making it a place I’d want to return to. Be sure to check out the shrine to antique collectors’ Barbie Dolls at the entrance, including a Grease Barbie and a That Girl Barbie, all surrounding a giant photo of the proprietor’s lovely daughter… April! Fresh scooped ice cream was also available.
