White lake is blessed to have such good food. Any night of the week the food is excellent. I have tasted most of the menu and it is good. Drink specials… great food affordable and a great staff to run the place.

What a terrible place. Loved the interior atmosphere, but the food was just plain awful! Ordered the fish and chips. Fish batter was burnt, so basically the fish was inedible. Threw away all the leftovers when I got home. Served with thick large, steak fries, highly seasoned… no nutrition… just bulking up an awful meal. Bread nice and garlicky, but just more of a white carb ‘filler’…carb load to make you full, but again, no nutrition, pure carbs… was supposed to get another side, which I would have ordered cole slaw… but that was never offered or delivered. Will never return.

Food is average at best. Fish and chips were very greasy. Burgers tasteless. Wings were ok. The best thing about the place are the bands and the bar. This is a fun place to go to after dinner somewhere else.

I love this place! I usually order the fish and chips every time! The bleu cheese coleslaw is to die for, I can’t have the fish and chips without it! The bread is always delicious and fresh. I’d say definitely give it a try.

I am genuinely sad to write this review. Billy’s did catering for an event I attended and it was stellar food, so after a long flight back from San Diego we decided to stop here. I ordered a piña colada and it was all ice and no alcohol. When our food arrived, the nachos were very overdone. Blackened on the edges. I was sad. I love, love nachos. We also ordered fries and they weren’t hot, just a medium temperature. The service wasn’t that great either. Just like we were an after thought, and we were the only table in the place. We paid our bill and split.

The ribs are excellent. They are freshly cooked or smoked daily. But some of the sides were so over salted that I could not eat them. The mashed potatoes and gravy way too salty I couldn’t eat them. Also the French onion soup was over salted. I wish they would fix the salt content so I could give Billys a better rating.

Not sure what changed but this place used to have some of the best food. I really liked the ribs and Shepard pie. I have finally given up hope here. The quality has dropped in the last year. The ribs have been greasy and the Sheppard pie is always reheated, not fresh like it used to be. They still have great bread sticks though. Beer selection is also bad, nothing local and limited.

Great service, but the food was really fresh and good. I couldn’t find one thing I thought was premade! Super good food!

Kind of scary inside, by that I mean it’s like a time warp to the 70’s. Very dark interior, lots of knick knacks and memorabilia on the walls. I stopped in for lunch with my friend because it was her pick. At first it was hard to tell if they were open because the«open» sign was not on, but we assumed they were since there were 4 cars in the parking lot. The food was decent but nothing special. We both had small Greek salad and soup. The chili was good, the salad was fine. I don’t really have any complaints but I don’t have anything that excited me either. Our server wasn’t around much, she was chatting with people who appeared to be «regulars.» I don’t know that I wouldn’t come back but I won’t be knocking down the door to get there.

Had the sauted perch drowning in some weird thick sauce over cooked not good. Blue cheese coleslaw that would be so easy to make fresh quickly but you can tell they have it made up in bulk sitting there all day. Only thing I would recommend is the wine list. Over priced sub par food. Good for them they are making a mint bad for customer expecting fresher food. Waitress was really sweet but had to many tables to keep drinks refilled. Over all you need an upgrade Billy’s.

I’m a New Englander(coastal Maine). What a great dining pleasure it was to have been brought here by a local. I had never heard of Pasties but was convinced to try this Michigan local’s favorite. Fabulous! The blue cheese cole slaw was also wonderfully delicious. The smoked ribs smelled divine. It will be a difficult decision next time I return here(SOON!) as to which to order. I regret I couldn’t enjoy a brew but we had to go fly a training flight after dining. FAA rules — 8 hours bottle to throttle(or is it two?)

Stopped for a late lunch about 2:30 on a Monday. Not busy. Waited at the hostess stand between 5 and 10 min to be sat. Two servers eventually acknowledged me and said they would be right back. Then they assumed I was there to order a carry out. Weird. Ordered cheese logs arrived luke warm. Ordered shepards pie. Served on a plate at 13.99 with side carrots. Soup or salad extra. Not impressed. Son ordered philly steak sandwich and fries. at 10.99 extra .65 for a side of ranch. Looked good and tasted ok. Unfortunately, He was sick(food poisoning?) later. Wont be back.

It’s close to our house so that’s a plus… and they have live music. Other than that, the food is just ok. The only thing I’ve actually liked there is the nachos and well I just love nachos. Also, the draft beer hasn’t really been cold the couple of times I’ve ordered it. Not warm but not cold either.

I get a kick out of this place. Wife and Sister just got back from sitting at a table near the bar. Bartender is more interested in talking to the goofy guys at the bar than waiting on them. Understand the place is empty! Three waitresses walking around with very few customers in the place, but no service! They actually had to go to the bar on two occasions to get a Cool Beer. Some things never change. Decent food, consistent terrible, unfriendly service!

Been here a half dozen times and hated the experience every time. Which is sad because I live about 2 miles away so it should be a regular stop. The food is just bad. Really, really bad. BBQ is a joke with big chunks of fat that you can not eat. Drinks have been warm before. Literally warm. The menu is way too big and this is probably why the food suffers. Concentrate on getting something right. From what I’ve heard this place used to be delicious… I saw the owner a week ago drink 4 beers before 3pm on a Tuesday. Maybe he’s given up?

Man, this is one of my favorite places in the area. I absolutely love everything about this place– from the service to the outdoorsy décor to the amazing bread. I have driven past this place a million times before the boy and I actually went in. It was one of those«we really need to check that place out» places. So finally, we went in. There was a band playing, which I thought was good and we got seated in a booth. After perusing the menu, we decided to get the ribs for two since we both love bbq. It was a full slab of ribs with two sides and a salad. The salad is HUGE. Enough for multiple refills to your plate. Oh and you get bread! I cannot forget the bread! It’s awesome. I’ve taken my entire bread loving family here and they rave about it the whole way there and the whole way home afterwards. And, I’m getting the bread for my BBQ wedding in August next year. if that gives you an idea of how good it is. When the ribs came out they were delish! Tender and tasting great! Oh, other times we’ve gone we have got the cheese logs as an appetizer. Let me tell you, they are literally like logs. Freakishly huge and beyond amazing. The only reason we don’t get them every time is because we try to save room for the meal. The last time I went, I took my family– Mom, Dad, Sister, Grandma, Brother and the boy. I got the Murice salad and the chili. Again, awesome. The Fish N Chips, my grandma raved about and the Baked Mostaccioli my Mom couldn’t have looked happier. I honestly, haven’t had a bad meal here– and between myself and the boy and my extended family(who now since I’ve introduced them, go all the time) I think we’ve pretty much tried the whole menu. Check it out. Great food and great ambiance.

My family has frequented Billy’s hundreds of times, literally, hundreds. Billy’s watched our boys grow up and move out. They watched our daughter-in-law live with us for a year while her husband was in Iraq. Almost every Friday for years and years. The fish and chips took a dive back in 2010 but thankfully it came back. We boycotted back in 2009 for a while because they ran out of martini glasses. The bleu cheese cole slaw hasn’t been replicated any other place and we loved it. Then they took the brownies off the menu… but they came back. This was our place. Oh, and they can do ribs and pulled pork, yummy. I am happy to say that we retired and moved to Virginia Beach. I am sad to say that we haven’t found a replacement. There are many solid restaurants here but none like Billy’s. Miss you Jenn.
