Purchased a groupon for this place randomly one weekend and drove out with our 3 kids to find it. It’s a bit far from us to go regularly but the place was clean, staff was friendly, and they had a good variety of flavors/toppings. Prices were comparable to other, similar yogurt places as were the toppings etc. I snuck a peak in their party room when I went to the bathroom… I do wish it was closer as I really liked the party room! My 2 ½ yr old son loves the«Miles from Tomorrow land» cartoon on Disney, the space theme in the party room would make it easy to do a «Miles from Tomorrow land» themed party.

LOVE planet swirl it’s my go to once a week yogurt place. The inside is so cute it’s painted black with pink lights on the celling that twinkle on and off makes me feel like am in my own Saturday morning cartoon speeding around out of space in my own super zontic rocket. The store is ultra clean and the yogurt flavor are not your run of the mill. Last night I had peanut butter cream pie, which was delicious am still having dreams about the flavor this morning !!!

Love Planet Swirl and frequent here often. They have a huge variety of flavors and a great toppings bar too! Very clean establishment and the employees are very nice. I have two complaints… one is the music. I do not enjoy listening to club style music while trying to relax and enjoy my yogurt! That was a BIG complaint of mine with CUPS… the other is the amusement rides… they take up too much room and make it very cluttered .I will definitely be back to Planet Swirl but, most likely sit outside do to the music.

Great frozen yogurt and HOTFUDGE one up on yogurt land. But take a lesson from Cups stop the stupid teeny loud music!!! thats why Cups went out. When did it become cool to eat yogurt in a club setting? Did I miss something?

Now that so many local fro-yo shops in the area have closed, Planet Swirl has become my go-to spot. Their yogurt is comparable to Let’s Yo and Cups in the sense that it tastes more like soft ice cream, as opposed to the sour taste of the yogurt at Red Mango. That’s okay. I like the yogurt at Planet Swirl. They have several flavors and lots of toppings, although some of them are in plastic«pour» containers that aren’t exactly user-friendly. Why put nuts and coconut in plastic pour containers? IMO, too much of the product ends up on the floor. Wasteful. I’m not crazy about the ambiance inside Planet Swirl – it’s too dark for my taste. I prefer their outside seating area during nice weather, despite the view of the parking lot. Lastly, Planet Swirl’s prices seem reasonable relative to its competitors’ prices, and they have a frequent-buyer card that generates free fro-yo.

This place was cute. Much smaller than I thought it would be, but that’s fine. It was neat, clean, and had a cute little«celestial» theme. It is very family and little kid friendly with small coin operated rides for little kids inside the store. The choices for topping were varied and plentiful. The counter/checkout person was very nice, and my boys and I really enjoyed our finished dessert. I’ll definitely go again.

Stopped in for the 1st time yesterday. It was midday and the place was practically empty. I believe it was the owner who rang me up, not sure, He was very friendly. The yogurt was great!!! Looking forward to going back soon.

I’ll admit I only stopped in at planet swirl because I heard they were selling pretzels from the Philly pretzel factory. I did decide to try the yogurt, and I’m glad that I did. I usually try to stay away from chocolate flavored frozen yogurt because it has an off putting sour taste, but this yogurt didn’t at all. I don’t remember the exact name of the flavor, but it was chocolate mint cookie or something of the sort. The choices for the toppings were interesting. There were whole fresh baked ghirardelli brownies, and cookies as well as some halloween inspired toppings. They also had the typical froyo toppings like fruit, fruit flavored boba, and mochi. I’m not crazy about froyo in the first place, but this is definitely an above average experience. I like that I can stop in to get a Philly pretzel. I asked the girl behind the register if they were made in store. Apparently they pick them up from Livingston daily. They do have all of the dips(cheese, cinnamon, chocolate etc.) that are carried in the actual Philly pretzel locations. It’s convenient for me because it’s on the way home and it saves me the extra trip to Livingston.

Planet Swirl is in a pretty dead shopping center but the shop itself is nice and clean and great for a nice froyo stop. They have a lot of different flavors that I never had at Pinkberry or Sweet Frog. Like, vanilla latte, coconut cream pie, and uh, I forgot already. But it was really good! Look, it’s froyo and it’s good and it’s regular prices and it’s self serve with tons of toppings. I hate places like Pinkberry that serve you, so I’m a big fan of Planet Swirl.

Really fun themed self-serve froyo place! I love that you can mix and match your flavors… I tried the Oreo Mint(delish) and the Peanut Butter Chocolate(so good)! And there are just so many toppings… I even missed a whole row of cereal. Prices are affordable, the restaurant is very clean, service is friendly. And the décor is super cute. and very purple… my fave!

The yogurt here is AWESOME! The décor is beautiful! If you haven’t tried it, you must! It is THE place to go for a great treat! The flavor profiles are rich and creamy — almost tasting like ice cream. After adding toppings and paying for it, the yogurt does not melt(unless of course you bring it outside in 90 degree heat). You need to stop by and try some remarkable flavors! Friendly service and a spotless shop only makes the experience richer!

Very similar to spots that I’ve frequented in Chicago, but admittedly a bit cleaner(though I think it’s new). The staff was friendly, but the spot was deserted. Actually, the whole strip mall that this is located in is pretty deserted, so it’s not surprising that it was quiet in here. The business model is pretty standard(pick your own flavors, toppings, amount, etc and weigh it) and I was thrilled with the flavor options. However, some of the flavors were a miss. The mint one — tasted pretty bad — actually really really bad — I ended up eating around it and was happy it hadn’t mixed in with the other flavors too much. Cake batter — decent, but not as good as some. Strawberry — not bad, pretty tasty. Mix ins are the standards, though I think the options weren’t as extensive as some spots(though, plenty to keep almost everyone happy!). Pricing is standard I suppose, if not a little higher than I’ve seen. So, if you go, stick with your normal favorite flavors and be prepared that you may end up at an expensive cup of ice cream if you’re not careful.

This has become our«go-to» place for our family treats. Been there maybe a dozen times already. Best fro-yo around and great atmosphere. My two daughters love it and never seem to get tired of it. Plus they are always meeting up with their friends there. Sometimes it seems like half of Whippany is in there but it never seems crowded. Always extremely clean and very friendly staff. Yogurt is always fresh tasting(creamy and great flavor without that powdery taste some places have) and excellent selection of toppings. The party room is another great feature and my 10 year old has already requested it for her birthday. They have a really nice selection of yogurt cakes too that we are planning to try. Just a really fun place and a comparatively healthy indulgence. Planet Swirl is a welcome addition to the neighborhood!

3.5 stars = 3 stars for the yogurt and price, 4 for the décor, rounding up to support local business + HS kids running the place haha The latest addition to Pine Plaza(stores are continually changing), Planet Swirl attempts to bring«hip» and«cool» into froyo. Not that it wasn’t cool already. But they go beyond the average frozen yogurt experience by wowing you with a glittering galaxy in the ceiling, pleather purple couches, a faux fireplace, and a flatscreen TV. The bathroom is also gorgeous, although there’s no mirror. The yogurt itself is more like sorbet — more icy than creamy. They have a wide range of interesting flavors that rotate such as Banana Nut, Coconut, Thin Mint, Peanut Butter, Mango, Strawberry, and the usual Tart, but the flavors weren’t rich enough for me.(It’s nice that they have alternatives such as gluten-free, low-fat, and nonfat no-sugar added.) Sadly, by the time I paid for my cup, most of my yogurt was already melting. But they try to make up for it with an overwhelming amount of toppings and syrups, even crunchies to add to the bottom of the cup. For $ 0.52 per ounce, make sure you have a lighter hand on those handles & toppings(the strawberry pieces are HUGE). Pricier than a lot of places! PS; They also have a private party room in the back.
