If I could make it a zero, I would. Where should I start? As soon as I walked up I could tell it was terrible. The building looked like it should be torn down. The rooms was even worse. I half expected to get scabbies from the bed, the sink didn’t drain, and taking a shower made me feel dirtier. There were cigarette burns all over the tub and all the fixtures were rusty. The key to open the door only worked about half the time. The curtains were falling off and didn’t even cover the windows. I think I saw someone smoking crack outside my room. The manager still managed to be the worst part of the entire experience. The restaurant was disappointing(nonexistent). Actually the entire place would be better nonexistent. Stay anywhere but here. Consider yourself warned.

The previous reviewers have been hyperbolic to the point of hysteria. Apparently these folks want to stay in a budget hotel in an economically ravaged city and somehow be insulated from the unseemly sight of poor people. We stayed here for two nights and witnessed multiple staff shift changes and never experienced the apparently infamous rudeness– everyone at the front desk was friendly and I’d wager these prissy snifflers were scrutinizing every glance and incidental remark for something they could be disproportionately indignant about later. Never did we feel the looming threat of stabbing. We knew it wasn’t the four seasons, but it’s also not Mogadishu y’all. The danger being trumped up in these reviews is unsubstantiated. This place overlooks the ohio river– it’s a beautiful view and a serviceable, decent cheap hotel.

Being on the pipeline, you don’t have a lot of choices on where to stay but hell will freeze over before I stay here again. Clerk, behind counter, was rude… granted I got there at 2:00 in the morning… still, it’s your job. There was urine dried with pubic hair stuck to the toilet seat(my wife makes sure I have Clorox wipes at all times). Door was always stuck, locked in it felt like,(room 300) parking is a disaster, nothing is well lit at all, exploded food grim all over microwave. You will leave there feeling as if you need to hurry and get a tetanus shot. Only reason I give a star is(thank god) no bed bugs! Place sucks… Stay away.

This hotel was terrible. First of all, I booked it last-minute late at night and was reassured by the centralized call center that my reservation was in place. When I arrived, the place was labeled«Wheeling Inn» despite the Knights Inn sign out front. Also, the neighborhood and parking lot looked really rough, as in you’ll probably get stabbed if you stand outside too long. This looked like the type of hotel people go to hire prostitutes and do drugs. I wish I were kidding. When we arrived, the gentleman at the front desk was rude. He continued to count money into envelopes in front of us, basically ignoring us and taking his sweet time to actually get our room sorted. Of course, when he checked the reservation list, he stated that we were not on it. Apparently, he «can’t access the website at night.» What? They take their servers down at night? What he said didn’t even make sense, and it’s stupid to have a centralized reservation call center if the actual locations supposedly can’t access said reservations after a certain time of day. Once we finally got everything straightened out, which involved calling the call center and having them call him, I asked him if I needed to show my AAA card, to which he sarcastically replied, «You’ll need more than THAT to get a room.» Yes, I am aware that I also have to pay, but thanks for treating me like an idiot. Our actual room was disgusting. It was damp and smelled strongly of mildew and possibly old urine that had been partially cleaned out. The duvet cover had old food(?) and cigarette burns on the underside. The tabletop had some kind of sticky blob on it. Also, they did not provide us with shampoo, which is fine, but they didn’t even give us regular soap! The price was outrageous for the service we received. The only upside to the experience was that we weren’t assaulted and didn’t get bedbugs.

If I could give it a negative review, I would have! The hotel says knights inn but it’s a much older hotel that knights inn has taken over. We only stayed there out of necessity, but if I had it to do over, I would have kept driving. The rooms are disgusting. They smell terrible and you the carpet hadn’t been vacuumed in a while, I was afraid to walk on it without shoes. The beds looked clean but after looking a little closer, trust me they were not. They also decided to not include face towels. There was loud music playing outside all night long and people out and about. The backside of the hotel is very poorly lit and was for lack of a better word, just plain creepy and this was before I noticed the yellow taped crime scene. I urge anyone to think twice before staying here.
