THISLOCATIONISCLOSED! Love Edwardo’s! The Wheeling location has been the spot for many family birthday dinners, and I’ll remember fondly the pizza chips served as appetizers. Always a great deal for a pitcher and a pizza, I’ll hopefully find myself near one of the other locations to stop in!

Okay, I know the it’s all about«Natural» in the name but I’m not one to be hung up on it myself. I like their take on Chicago deep dish pizza, it’s distinct enough in style to make it stand on it’s own. I’m personally not enamored with their thin crust offerings so I tend to go for the deep dish Edwardo’s Special, loaded with sausage, green pepper, mushroom and onions. This is not bad for a lunchtime personal serving size, especially with the chicken noodle soup and iced tea I got with it. I was very satisfied, and in my little scheme of things, Edwardo’s fits in as a reliably tasty, friendly, lunchtime destination. There are more exciting pizzas out there, but I’ll save those for when I have time to wait and savor it all.

Was there for lunch this week. Their gluten free pizza was awful and undercooked. Even the cheese on it looked suspicious. My daughter ordered a thin crust pepperoni pizza — it was very average.

I was disappointed when I ordered take out. Had a lg thin crust and med stuffed. Thin crust was dry and could not taste the sauce. I enjoyed the deep dish a little more. The sauce could be more tangy for me and the crust a little more flavorful. Overall for $ 45 it was very disappointing. That was with a discount.

Went for a «Friday Night Pizza Night»(seems to becoming a trend lately). Dined in after having had delivery from here a while back. Place was dead during dinner«rush» time. Server was too«attentive», over the top really, and a bit odd-very awkward-really became off-putting as the meal wore on. Except for after she boxed our pizza and we were looking for the check. Then she(along with everyone else who was working disappeared). We sat and waited… felt like maybe she went on a delivery run or something. Just bizarre. Salad(antipasto something) was okay, what you would expect. Pizza cracker dough things they bring out on arrival are nice. Pizza(meat lovers something) was disappointing(I know… bad Catholic). Not as good as I remember, certainly not as good as Lou Malnati’s or Giordano’s(and forget about comparing it to Unos or Due). Sad, I remember this being better. Pizza quality + really strange service + availability of better nearby pizzas equal a probably won’t go back situation. And not that I am price concious all the time, this seemed higher than Malnati’s and Giordano’s…

The appetizer basket of lightly-spiced crackery«chips» with a warm side of marinara is yummy and helps pass the time before your entrees comes to the table. Great stuffed crust/deep dish. Thin crust is rather meh — too dry and uninspiring. Both thin & thick could use a little more garlic powder. Red pepper flakes and cheese are on the table already. Their lunch express combos(11 – 2, M-F) are awesome. In the interest of shaving off minutes from prep time, they have a limited toppings menu of personal size pizzas. You get the chips/marinara, a soup or salad, your personal pizza, and a soft drink for $ 6.29. There is a $ 7.29 version for salads and sandwiches as well. I give this place 4.5 stars!

The thin crust pizza is very good and it’s crispy. Not a fan of the décor or ambiance.

Not many Edwardo’s around anymore. Many went out of business near my home and was very unnhappy. Get here once in a while, but they are still one of the top pizzas in Chicago, actually 2nd place behind Lou Malnati’s. The pizza is fresh and the cheese extremely great. Highly recommend. Don’t miss out if you are in area.

We have something a bit better here in the Detroit area(a place called Pizza Papalis) and I think Mother Bears in Bloomington, Indiana was the best I ever had(27 years ago, so memory is dim) but this Edwardo’s is the best I’ve had in Chicagoland! Glenn R.: where are you really from? No Illinoisan would call pop«soda!» :)

The is THE best pizza in Cook County and Chicagoland. And this is coming from somebody who has lived both in the suburbs and downtown, and has experienced all of the so-called«best» spots and the famous pizzerias(Malnati’s, Giordano’s, Gino’s East, Uno). Fresh ingredients and coming right out of the oven there is nothing better. I’m a big fan of the stuffed pesto but you can’t go wrong with any other ingredients. The service is a tad bit slow but it’s absolutely worth it. Everything from the crust, to the cheese and the sauce is perfection. It’s a taste that you will never forget. Never tried the thin crust nor think that I will. If you’ve only eaten the thin crust then you have no idea what you’re missing out on. All the other pizzerias are overrated and I secretly wish that people who come and visit Chicago can somehow make a trip to Edwardo’s because it is simple the BEST

I love my Chicago deep dish. I’ve spent my fair share of time(and dime) with Giordano, Lou, and Gino, but this was my first time with Edwardo. As a heads up – Edwardo’s is a little hard to find – it’s on the southeast corner of the Dundee/Milwaukee intersection, in an inconspicuous strip mall. That said, Edwardo can hold his own with the big boys. Personally I like the crispier, drier crust(as opposed to the sopping with butter sponge of a crust), so Edwardo’s did it for me. Though I still gotta say, truth be told, I still prefer Gino’s and Lou’s. I got the vegetarian which was pretty good, and it was surprisingly slow for a Saturday night at 7pm. But the staff were super friendly, the garlic pita/crust chips with fresh marinara as a free starter was great, and the pizza was solid. Edwardo, I think we’re on for a second date.

This is one of the real contenders for great«Chicago Style Deep Dish» pizza. Unlike some of the others, they have a really great special on Sundays and Tuesday Nights — a one topping Medium Deep Dish plus a pitcher of soft drinks for $ 16 — almost $ 10 off. You can add additional ingredients a-la-carte. Sadly, on Tuesdays, the place is nearly dead, but the long time servers are a fun bunch, and very helpful. The Pizza shines, loaded with lots of cheese, meat, and fresh-syle sauce. We usually get a sausage and mushroom and have some left over. While you wait they serve«crust chips» with a marinara sauce that is first rate. Note that the map for this restaurant is wrong — it is on the SouthEast corner of Dundee Road at Milwaukee Ave. in a strip mall.

Im not really a lover of pizza, but once in a while, I get a craving for a nice thin slice pizza. There’s only a very few places where I can actually enjoy eating pizza, and Edwardo’s Pizza in wheeling is one of those places. When my co-workers and I come here, it is usually over lunch to take advantage of their lunch menu. Basically, you get your own mini personal pizza(thin or stuffed pizza), salad or soup and a refillable soda for only $ 6.29. The pizza always comes out nice and hot, and the crust is always nice and crispy. When ordering, I either order the personal deep dish sausage pizza or their BBQ chicken thin crust pizza; both very good. The BBQ chicken pizza has just the right amount of BBQ sauce with fresh cilantro baked oh so good, and just enough portion for one person with a big appetite like me. I have ordered their sandwich and their salad lunch special, but nothing beats or even comes close to their pizza special. At times though, service can be really slow, especially during lunch times, but if you are craving a nice hot pizza and don’t want to spend too much for lunch, then Edwardo’s is the place to go.

My friends and I went here for lunch yesterday and it’s been awhile since the last time I was here. What a total disappointment! Dining in was awful. The servers were not attentive and mind you, there were a bunch of them but for whatever reason, our food took forever to come and the same thing with our receipt. It took so long that I snapped at our server which I hardly do cuz I know how hard they work for their job but not in this place. There were six of us so they gave us the longer table with filthy chairs. My chair had a dried up red stain and the others got tons of crumbs. This place needs to get sanitized. Food was ok, you’re better off buying their frozen pizzas or go somewhere else. The experience reminded me of why I don’t miss going to this particular location.

Perhaps I didn’t get the right food. My company ordered Edwardos pizza for a meeting, and. it’s alright. Maybe it’s because the thin crust was ordered, and not the stuffed pizza(as stated below). The thin crust had substance to it, and it was pretty good… but I felt it could have been baked a bit more, to be a bit more crispy. However, I don’t think Chicago is known for it’s thin crust? The salad was actually pretty tasty though. They had quite the large cherry tomatoes and fresh olives in the salad. I was impressed with the salad. The pizza’s just flat, greasy. just nothing too interesting. I got hte mushroom/green onion one as well as the pepperoni… and it was just okay. The sauce wasn’t spectacular, although the cheese was pretty good. Next time, I’ll get the stuffed crust.

The Lunch Express Combos are pretty good deals. $ 7.29 for salads, pasta, and sandwiches. $ 6.29 for mini stuffed pizza or mini thin crust pizza. Nothing beats Lou Malnati’s pizza for me. But it’s a decent lunch place. The chicken pesto salad was pretty good.

Hand’s down, Edwardo’s is my favorite stuffed pizza. The ingredients are fresh, the cheese great, and the don’t overwhelm the pizza with sauce. The spinach mozzarella sticks are a perfect fried fix. I’ve only dined in at the wheeling location, but I think I will stick with take out.

I can usually take or leave pizza, but I love stuffed crust pie. I have tried most the local Chicago favorites and Edwardo’s is hands down the best. I should add that this is an opinion shared by all my co-workers. The natural freshness of the crust and cheese give it a nod of the other favorite chains and locals. I will miss them when I return home to Texas.
