Went on a Monday night– they have a great special with a bottle of wine, rib eye, salad, and desert. They were slow, which was fine because it was a snowy Monday. The food was great. The only trouble was the steak wasn’t cooked correctly the first time. The second try it was perfect though. We will be back to try it again, especially since they are so close.

I will preface this review with the fact that I have never visited Luke’s as a standard paying customer. I have visited a couple times for company parties and such but probably won’t ever visit on my own dime. On every visit I have observed the following… Under/overcooked proteins. On my first visit the filet mignon was still moo’ing. I am very in tune with food temps and what is appropriate for the protein. Filet Mignon should be served around 129–135 °F, this was no more than 115 – 120. Nearly everyone at our table was put off by this offering. On a recent visit the shrimp were rather over cooked which led to a rubbery presentation. Many of the food items seem to be food service prepared. I don’t know if this is something that is done for large groups/catering but several of the items in the lineup I could identify as Costco items. The staff seems less than knowledgeable of the beverages they are serving and the proper presentation.

AWESOMEFOOD! Our steaks were perfect(I’m SUPER picky with how mine is cooked, normally other steak house’s over cook it but they got it 100% right). I had the grilled asparagus and smashed garlic potatoes which were so yummy, my husband had the jalapeño and bacon macncheese and fries and OMG he loved it! We also got dessert, a strawberry cheesecake and key lime pie which were GREAT! Our server was very attentive but not overly so. The prices are a little more then what you’d see at for example Texas Roadhouse but with the quality of food and service it definitely makes sense. Highly recommend Luke’s!!!

Update 10÷20÷25: two days later and NINE people from our party of eleven(including myself) have food poisoning, all from different entrees. DONOT eat here, unsanitary and unpleasant! We went here for my grandmother’s birthday brunch yesterday. She had been here for dinner before, and chose the place based on proximity to her house in Arvada. At first glance, the menu looked great. They had a nice variety of both breakfast and lunch options, as well as fairly decent Bloody Mary’s and bottomless mimosas. The chef was also friendly and came out to say hi. However, that is where the good ends. First of all, the fact that there were not any other people in the restaurant(sans one person at the bar watching the Broncos) at 1:00PM on a Sunday should have been a sign from the beginning… Our server looked like he hadn’t showered in days, had crusty gunk around his mouth that wasn’t removed the entire time we were there, and just really did not look like a person one would want to handle their food. I ordered the traditional Eggs Benedict, which was incredibly soggy due to being drowned in a bland hollandaise sauce, and tasted and looked like it had been under a heat lamp for half an hour. My cousin and her fiancé both had the crab cake Benedict, and then proceeded to violently vomit all night from food poisoning. My boyfriend ordered the French dip, which showed up without the jus or horseradish, but did have french fries that had definitely been frozen at some recent point… My brother’s burger was ok, but came with the same fries. I would recommend that if you do go here, stick to the mini muffins. They were decent.

Mediocre Restaurant(at best) with High End Steakhouse Prices. I live in Arvada and enjoy going out close to home. My first visit was OK, I had butter fish and my hubby had ribeye. Both were OK, service was OK, but prices were too high for experience. I kept hearing great reviews and decided to give it another try. I came with my daughter, we had 2 steak dinners, no alcohol, no appetizer, and no dessert just coffee… bill $ 100. Service was horrible, I guess a woman with a teenager is not worth it… they were very attentive to several older couples around us, but ignored us most of the time. Steaks were just OK. Would not recommend, will not be back.

I heard some good comments about this place. So, I decided to give a try. Immediately, I book for dinner on a Friday night. The inside portion was great, specially the outdoor seating. They had a wide selection of wine which was really cool. I loved the steaks paired with a refreshing wine. Honestly, going back here soon.

Wow! Cheesy location, but they have amazing food! Great steaks and great lobster for the surf and turf. Great unpretentious place for a really great steak.

Wow, worse case of food poisoning I’ve ever had. Live in Arvada and this place was highly recommended so one night after bowling my husband and I stopped by. Started with the potato soup — looked like brown sludge so I sent it back and the waiter didn’t even offer to take it off the bill. So then I ordered the mussels… the sauce was ok and they weren’t the freshest — shouldn’t have known better than to eat them… huge mistake… spent all night(5 hours) heaving(sorry — probably too much information). The steak, another disappointment. I had a filet and it tasted like it had been cooked on a grill that hadn’t been cleaned in a month. I had to cut the gristle off — should have sent it back too. My husband’s ribeye steak and asparagus was OK. My veges were overcooked(it was 9am at night so probably sitting in the steamer since 5pm). I do have to say the wine and bread were good but how do you mess up a good bottle of wine? Maybe they were just having a bad night? I called the next day to inform the Manager of the bad mussels and she said she’d throw them out and send me a gift card. Never got the gift card(not that I would ever go back) — hopefully she didn’t forget to throw out the bad mussels too… In retrospect — for any restaurant — if the food isn’t up to par or ‘suspect’ send it back!

went during restaurant week. Service was a little slow and food was average. Not worth the price.

Incredible bread, incredible salad, incredible ribeye, great service. So glad the girlfriend and I split the meal. One of the best steaks I have had in the Denver Area… A++++++++

I’ve been to some great steakhouses: Del Frisco’s, Bob’s, Gibson’s, CarneVino, Delmonico, CraftSteak, and others. Luke’s is none of them but it doesn’t try to be. If I lived closer I would try to love this place. I really want to like it. The service I had there was AWESOME, from the hosts to the waiters. My wife had a minor request and they tended to it without blinking an eye. Unfortunately it fell short with the food. The steak is not prime grade — it’s choice but the price reflects this. You can get a steak and two sides for around $ 35. If you go to a high-end steakhouse the steak alone will probably cost at least that much(but will be prime grade). My steak came out cooked medium(I ordered medium rare) and it was a chewy mess. I could have easily made a better steak at home. Also, the skillet potatoes and onions side came with well-cooked potatoes and raw onions, which was not enjoyable. My second side was billed as something like«whiskey sugar glazed carrots» but were obviously canned carrots that were just warmed and served. All in all, it’s a charming place that has somehow built a clientele over the years with their excellent service but the food is just not good. I would love this place if they just learned how to make a good steak. I would suggest changing the quality of beef they use and being honest with the descriptions of their side dishes.

We visit Luke’s on a regular basis and love it! The portions are large, the steaks are cooked to perfection and the staff is amazing. We will continue to recommend Luke’s and frequent it.

My husband took me here for my birthday last Friday… it’s the scene of our first date 14 years ago! They have remodeled and it has a great vibe, with it without being hipster. Started with the dirty martini… without a doubt the best one(ok two) I have ever had, and I’ve had a few! Our waitress was quite attentive without being overbearing. The seasonal salad… roasted beets, squash, candied pecans on a bed of arugula with a maple vinaigrette was perfect. We both had the filet with lobster tail, it was good, not amazing but nicely done! We will probably make this a regular stop. Go and support this locally owned business… way better than any chains

We went to Luke’s for the first time during Restaurant Week. Apparently this was the only menu that they were offering, and it would have been nice to see the regular offerings in case we came back for another visit. We waited for 10 minutes for our server to even greet us, and then it was all down hill from there. I ordered a glass of wine, which was overpriced. Then when our salad came out(served family style) we were disappointed to see that the green onions, carrots, and celery were all whole, as in not diced up. Obviously not wanting to bite off pieces we both tried to slice them ourselves, which was somewhat difficult with dull butter knives. I ordered the«surf and turf», which came with two sides. The surf was two shrimp in a scampi sauce, which was very salty, and the turf was a ribeye which was extremely tough. About half-way through eating my steak, my jaw started to hurt so I decided I would just take the rest home. I had the green beans which were pretty mediocre, and the mashed sweet potato which was served with brown sugar on the side. All-in-all, the entire experience was very disappointing for a place that we had heard nothing but good reviews for. We will not be back!

The food and service was amazing!!! I had a 12 oz that was just incredible. Cooked to perfection! Tender, juicy and simple. Our waitress did a amazing job keeping us satisfied. The only reason I didn’t give them a five is because of the silverware being quite dirty. Other then that great experience I will definitely be returning.

Went with a couple of friends for dinner last night. It was so-so and definitely overpriced. What we had… Bruschetta to start– the grilling if the bread was nice but there was nothing to the tomatoes, it just seemed like JUST tomato. No basil, no taste of garlic, nothing really to lift the flavor. House Salad-served family style with lots of overly BIG chunks of carrot, green onion, and celery. Thrown in a bowl, over dressed and not tossed, it is very hard to manage with the tongs provided. You have the choice of having your knife slam into your plate when you break through your carrot or have people watch you as you go down on half a stick of celery attached to your fork. Ribeye steaks and a NY all ordered medium and all cooked correctly. They tout 40 day aged steaks but the texture or flavor was not consistent with aged steak. My biggest concern was there was no marbling in the ribeye’s that further lessened the flavor of the steak. If I wanted a leaner cut I’d order a NY. All ordered baked potato, two of us had the side of mushrooms and one had steamed asparagus. The mushroom were very good, the bakers were good, the asparagus were overcooked. They were too soft and looked lifeless. Overpriced is the key word because it sets you up with different expectations. Seasoning on the tomatoes, roast the carrot and green onion in the salad and compose it for me then give me a properly marbled and aged steak… that would justify the price.

This is a favorite option for a celebratory night out. The cocktails are generous and well made. I learned tonight that they are celebrating new ownership and have made upgrades to the menu selections in addition to maintaining the quality we expect! Plans to participate in 5280 week this year. From filets to baked potatoes all delish. New happy hour changed our meal plans tonight.

I simply have never had a bad or even average dinner at Lukes. Mind you, dinner with a drink will easily set you back $ 30-$ 50. I try to go here at least once a season, it is indeed a special treat. I will close with this, I had the best sweet potato of my life here the other day. I grew up in the restaurant industry, so that says a lot. Simply amazing.

Seriously. No frills, just great steaks and great service. You can just sashay right in, be the über geek and make reservations on line or go old school and call from your land line… it’s doesn’t mater, Luke’s will find a table for you. There is nothing special about the atmosphere here, so if you’re on a date looking for that romantic evening, I’d suggest elsewhere. But if you’ve just finished a great round of golf with your buddies and looking to celebrate that sand save on 15, I’d suggest here. The«Luke’s» crowd is an array of fashion statements, from polo shirts, to shorts and ball caps to formal wear. No one is judging… just grubbing. When I was there recently, it appears one of the owners is leaving. I am not sure if it will become a family-owned steak place with changes on the horizon or not, I mean after 20+ years, what’s to change? The bottom line: Ala Carte, great seasoned beef(4 choices of Filet sizes, including bone-in), an affordable wine list and the greatest dimples in the world on our server! Give them a try and see how they put«u» in casual!
