What was this? We were the only people there. The waitress had no idea how to answer any of our questions. I asked for spicy pork, no spicy pork. Shrimp, no shrimp. Nonetheless the food was ok as far as entrée. HOWEVER the complimentary salsa was canned tomatoes with a few pieces of cilantro. I would have left after that if we weren’t starving. While we ate the employees watched soccer behind the counter.

Thought I give this place a try, paced an order for delivery. Tongue tacos great Soup of the day Tripe okay, more broth not so much tripe Mole Poblano good Stuffed peppers(poblano) very good Sopes Chicken good Children’s chicken fingers was surprisingly good, not your typical out of the frozen bag deep fried chicken fingers Mixed appetizer platter not so good, forgot the nachos, barely any guacamole and it had no salt, just tasted like crushed avocados

Had to update our review now that they don’t deliver to neighboring Oradell anymore. It’s not really a dine in place so we won’t be customers anymore. :(bummer the food was so yummy! And with the space issues I would expect delivery at least to somewhere so close.

I have never eaten in the place but they deliver to my home. Having spent a great deal of time in Mexico I can say that Michelle’s is doing food as close as you can get in Mexico without having ingredients sourced in Mexico Two of my favorites are the Chilaquiies Verdes and the Papas Flautas. This is the only place I have found outside of NYC that makes Pozole soup. Guacamole is really good, too. If you like Mexican food this is a must try. The owner and staff are very accommodating I would have given it 5 stars but I have never actually seen the place.

Popped in for the 1st time on Mother’s Day and to my surprise it wasn’t packed. I forgot to take pics of the actual restaurant, but it was nice and clean and decent & opted to stay and eat. We had the guacamole(beware it has jalapeño’s) I loved it but couldn’t share with my little ones… so make sure you inform them if you cannot handle the heat! We also shared the chicken nachos which were delish!!! And a must have… each nacho was crunchy and had lots of chicken and cheese Last my hubby the steak chimichanga… I saw a previous pic here of 4 and that’s why I recommended but it didn’t look like that at all when it came out… Nonetheless it was very good and flavorful and big portions We will return

Not a good experience at all. They were out of two things we wanted and then when we got our meals, they were very lack luster. Guac and chips were the only good eats we had. We won’t be back.

The real deal fresh Mexican. Looks like a simple little shop but do yourself a favor and get in there or order delivery from here. Amazing flautas, quesadilla and shrimp and garlic. Lovely owner and service too.

Probably some of the best Mexican food I have had. I had the enchiladas Verde’s and it was absolutely amazing the jalapeño hot sauce was homemade and awesome. This is my new fav place

Ordered a platter of 32 tacos with spicy pork, salted beef, and chicken. All three of them were good and the green hot sauce was great as well. The woman at the front desk nice and friendly. A little on the pricey side for the size of the tacos, total came out to $ 76, but I definitely recommend trying them out.

Missing my Southern California taco shops, Michelle’s is the closest you get to authentic in the area. Overly generous portions, reasonable prices. I like the tostadas!

Excellent authentic Mexican food! Great prices. Only losing a star because it doesn’t have Margaritas;) it is now our Mexican take out place.

I’ve been back several times and ordered different items for the whole family. Everyone in my house is sold and looks forward to the next time we’re ordering from Michelle’s. The owner and staff are genuine people and always pleasant to deal with.

I stopped there today after reading some positive reviews, and boy am I glad I did! I had the spicy carnitas burrito and it was so fresh and tasty. Comes nicely presented with rice, beans, and a corn salad. Yum! The beans are not greasy at all, and the rice is perfectly flavored and the perfect texture. A little different than what I am used to but in a good way! I am also VERY picky with salsa. I like it just so, and this salsa did NOTDISAPPOINT. It had just the right combination of texture, freshness and kick. Very hard to do, evidently, but this was perfect. Both of my kids LOVED their food, ate it all, and said they couldn’t wait to come back. I saw a ton of other things on the menu that I would love to come back and try. Very fair prices, so I will definitely be sampling the menu more. It was casual and small enough for us to feel like we were guest in their kitchen. The service was very friendly, and I chatted with some of the staff and told them I will be back. Can’t wait to come again!

Authentic Mexican food that tastes amazing. I arrived 10 minutes before closing but they still took my order and allowed me to sit down and eat my meal without any problem. Don’t let the lack of ambience of the restaurant scare you away. It’s all about the food.

This place is pretty much a hole in a wall type place. There’s like 5 tables a booth seating along the wall. I came here with boo boo and I ordered the chicken enchilada and shrimp soup. Boo Boo for the chicken buritto w/o beans. I got the guava shake and boo boo got a mexican soda. The guy also hooked me up with a taste of horchata. I would have ordered that if I knew they served it. It was not too sweet and not too strong on the cinnamon. Our food took really long to come out. The soup was loaded with shrimp and very flavor full. That could have been reason why out food took so long. We still enjoyed the food. I think there’s only 1 server and 1 cook at this place. This place is small so it might not be ideal for a first date spot. But, if you’re in a mood for better than chipotle mexican food then I would come here. CC accepted and if you feel fancy you can BYOB here.

The place is extremely simple and definitely not attractive to stay in — therefore, I’ll won’t be considering this in this review. The place is also hidden behind some other building, it took me a while to find it. The food, although, compensates. Just had the best burrito ever. The Chorizo(Mexican sausage) is simply amazing. The meat was extremely juicy and well seasoned(not sure if it’s a homemade sausage, but anyway, it’s extremely good). And everything else was also really good, specially the sauces(sour cream, spicy and green). Proper size and good pricing. Michelle’s Mexican is a must see if you’re around that area. Would love to see that place after some restoration — they deserve it.

If you find yourself at Hackensack hospital down the road and hospital food options have you down, you can call Michelle’s and they deliver. How amazing is that! Five stars for that alone! I ordered six tacos, two drinks, and chips and salsa. The salsa tasted like jarred salss but my bistec and chorizo tacos were plentifully filled and they included nopales and those delicious charred scallions. For $ 21, its a lot but I am in the burbs. Only thing better would be if they included margaritas in their delivery menu but hey a girl can dream!

This restaurant definitely has the ability to turn great. The location is not so prime but the service and quality of food is superb. Every dish is treated with care and I can just imagine a chef in the back cooking every dish personally, which is always a breath of fresh air when eating out. Now one thing I would like to say is that they should definitely put that chalk board to use! There is a beautiful, high quality chalkboard that they are hiding with a soda refrigerator! They could write their specials on it, instead of the cardboard that they currently use. I can definitely imagine this place becoming everyone’s go to mexican restaurant but may require a little more TLC.

Whoa hidden gem in my town! Place can seat about 12 – 15 people and they got a couple of tv’s in there while you wait. Now to the important stuff. The FOOD! We ordered the(CarneEnchillada/Spicy Pork $ 8.50 Tostadas) and(Cecina/Salted Beef $ 7.50 Huraches). The portions were huge and did not disappoint in taste. Super authentic and really filling! Highly recommend both dishes! Service was a little slow because they had a lot of takeout orders they had to take care of, but I can’t take a star off for that because the food was really good. Can’t wait to go back again
