Waited 15 minutes after being seated and no one came to place silverware or take my order. I left and went to the Chinese Restaurant next door. Totally unacceptable.

Love coming to this cozy neighborhood-type Denny’s! Will start off with the only disadvantage… which is not their fault, but is a reason that it is often almost empty. The Parking… like much of Westwood!(That’s why stores are always closing.) COMEON, CORP – CAN’T YOUHELPTHISPLACEOUT?!! Like maybe contract with the Hammer Museum garage or other parking lots. And, then, advertise, that there is, indeed, parking! Back to the positive. I had a delicious GRANDSLAM for my birthday. Perfectly made crispy(which I requested) bacon, eggs, and hash browns. Have had some good turkey sandwiches and burgers in the past. The mgr. Fritz was very nice! Daniel was helpful, and Frances, our server, was a sweetheart! I hope this place survives and continue its good food and service! The staff was pleasant and smiling.(Will say, there has been a server who seems unfriendly, but is actually o.k. She might try to be more aware of her presentation.) For all these negative reviewers, please remember… this is a mid-America type of diner. They do what they do well, in my opinion. It’s not an up-scale restaurant. Good suggestion, though, that someone mentioned… keep the restrooms clean. Problem there is that they are dark and dingy, looking. Painting it nicely would help.

This location has the worst service. The waitresses have bad attitudes and management isn’t much better. My toast was cold. But the butter was melted. I asked for my eggs scrambled well & they were scrambled easy. Normally I would give great tip. But servers need to realize they aren’t providing great service.

Open 24 hours a day huh? Well not today! And especially with their own hand drawn closed sign. There was 4(didn’t know each other) of us waiting for this waitress. Finally when she popped out of the bathroom she was surprised we were all in there cause it’s not like this place is open 24hrs a day and the doors are unlocked. She proceeded to then ask us all(with broken English) to all leave and she needed more time to get everything ready for service.. .. .. . Ok? Thanks but no thanks. Just went to Noah’s Bagels right down the street.

Service was slow, staff was sorta working in a way that they did not really care. Food was horrible. Not a lot of options. VERY dim lighting in there. Just overall bad experience.

OMG. Horrible service. We were here for breakfast. They were 1⁄3 full at 9AM on a Sunday. Had to flag our arms as if we were drowning to get ANYONE’S attention to get a coffee refill. Similar disregard for getting more water. Told the manager(don’t know his name) as he walked by that the service was horrible. He said«we’ll take care of it next time.” — I suggested taking care of it THISTIME would be more useful(e.g. – offer a free dessert, OJ, or something!!!) NOPE. I asked the waitress to bring me 2 $ 10 bills to break a $ 20. I got $ 10, $ 5, and 5 ones… Really. How can this be? Then I gave a water bottle I had with me to the waitress at the front/reception area –with Mr. Manager looking on – and asked(twice — she didn’t seem to understand the meaning of an open, empty bottle with the cap in my hand and«can I please have a refill of water?” — the manager nodded that it was OK. It never was brought to me. We’re talking and walking around Westwood, and I notice – no water! I go back, and ask the manager about my water bottle of a few minutes ago. «We don’t have it.» he said. Then repeated that. Did the molecules separate and went to heaven??? WHY would my large empty water bottle be… nonexistent in your Denny’s? Food – mediocre. Service – is not a word they understand here. Yes, of course we left a tip since servers are underpaid – but here, they do NOT work hard!

I joined a friend for a leisurely Sunday breakfast. He asked for his water bottle to be filled before I arrived — and the servers and managers later could neither find nor explain its disappearance. While the food was reasonably good, the service was abyssmal. My friend asked one waitress for a glass of water to be filled, and she simply forgot. He had to asked another waitress plus the manager to get his glass refilled. Neither waitress bothered to stop by and see how we were doing, although the customer turnover was very light. I had to ask for my coffee cup to be refilled, and then for a teaspoon to stir it. There are many places in Westwood where breakfast is available, the food is good, and the service is efficient. If you expect service — reading the other reviews — go elsewhere.

The food was good as it is in every dennys. The service here is horrible though. It took 15 mins for the waitress to attend us. She didn’t give us straws for our drinks and after giving us the food she didn’t bother checking in with us at all. There was also a hair in my moms hash browns.

I do not have high standards for Dennys. I was coming here for a pre-meeting meeting. Hashbrowns were good and eggs were standard. Waitress was nice but disinterested in chit chat. The wait was a little long even though there were tables open. The one thing that makes this review lower than 3 stars is that the girls bathroom was disgusting. I just returned from Beijing, and the restrooms there were cleaner than the restroom here. They say you can tell how clean the kitchen is by how clean the bathrooms are … so yeah, I am usually wary of places with nasty bathrooms.

I usually like this place because only old people and the random student will come here during the week in the mornings. Today I had a long convo with a woman who just wanted someone to talk to– it was clear to me she suffered from untreated mental illness, but I have a heart for such persons so I entertain them for as long as I can. It was all fine except for the shitty service I received from this new crew of people I’ve never encountered in all the time I’ve been coming here, and their snotty attitudes. The server had an attitude because I was talking to the woman at all, as if she doesn’t deserve to be treated with respect or to have a caring ear listen to her. I never was offered more coffee or juice, she came with my check soon after the woman joined me at my table. As I was paying my bill, the manager asked me if the woman was bothering me(yea, if she was bothering me, I wouldn’t have stayed two hours speaking to her) and I said no, not at all. Some people are just lonely and need kind words, and I just have that kind of compassion for people. The server heard me(I was speaking in Spanish to her since I am a Latina and feel comfortable speaking to others in our native language) and said that if I want to be the restaurant psychologist they should be paying me. That was so rude and uncalled for, so the hell with her tip– I usually tip well when the normal staff is taking my order, but this lady can go to hell. I hate to speak ill of my own people, but the sort of judgment cast against this poor Iranian woman is enough to make me never want to come back, unless it is the regular crew serving my table, because it is uncompassionate, hateful women like her that make our people look bad, and she doesn’t deserve to have as great a job as a server with that crunchy azz attitude. Please bring back my regular crew with good attitudes and great service.

This location in Westwood is the crappiest place to dine ever! Avoid this place if possible. The customer service rendered the night of NYE2015 was not only unbelievable but horrific attitude from the manager explains why the poor ratings of 2 stars on Unilocal.Poor management would describes your poor customer service from your employees. We came in on the night of NYE, to be exact New Years Day 1:00AM. The restaurant was packed with people waiting for tables while there was 3 – 4 empty tables. When we asked them why are there empty tables and are not seating anyone. The manager explains the longer wait is due everyone came in all at once so his kitchen is slammed.(But you can see the they only has two waitresses working the tables on NYE night. Knowing it will be a busy night after everyone parties, especially in the UCLA area, common sense is you should know people wants to eat and the manager should put more than 2 waitresses on duty that night.) We got seated and waited over 30 minutes before anyone came to serve us except for the bus boy whom brought out our drinks and utensils. We were seated about 15 minutes before two groups who came after us did. They were seated to the tables on left and right of us and they already had gotten their service from the waitress and their food. We spoke to the manager.(He explained that another waitress was taking care of us. The other two tables were taken care of by a different waitress. And he went on about how the the tables were assigned to different waitresses. To me whatever, that’s your responsiblity and the failure is due to your failed leadership that failed this restaurant. I think it is very disorganized. It was pointless to even point out a mistake in the order) Here’s the unbelievable part, The manager never apologize, gave us a bunch of excuses ANDBLAMEDUSFORBEINGSEATED! It’s NOT like we asked to be seated right away and jumped ahead of all the other parties that was ahead of us, We got seated when they called our name. The two parties that was behind us in line was seated, and got their food already right after us. The Chaos in the dining room continued as other tables were asking the busboy it they can place their order. When the waitress FINALLY came and took our order, the food came out fast, 5 – 10 minutes. SO this explains it wasn’t «his Kitchen» that was slammed” It was the understaffed waitresses and poor management. On one of our order the food came out wrong, missing ingredients, we called the manager over and he quickly said he will take care of the charge when we go up and pay at the register after our meal. But my friend wanted the missing avocado. So they brought out a side of avocados after her plate was already have eaten because she was starving already. When we went to pay our bill at the register, they did not take out the order as he had promised. When the cashier called the manager over, he said, «but we already bought you the avocados!» At this time we cannot believe how absurd his attitude and dealing with the problem as a manager was. The manager and the waitress was not even apologetic for them being unorganized and their poor customer service. Instead they fed us a bunch of excuses and blamed us for being seated. What a joke! Is this the way to treat your customers?! The busboy was the only positive outcome of this visit. He took care of us and other table with our drinks and utensils, running around working hard and still have a smile on his face. And for the kitchen staff members for preparing our meals quickly, despite the waitress messing up the order and getting blamed that they are the reason that caused with such delays.

There’s a thing called«blue flu» but what do you call it when there’s two servers in the smallest Lenny’s I’ve been in and they are slammed. I think it’s poor management in my opinion. I’m wondering why you would have a hostess taking names but the manager is seating people. Two people doing the same job. No wonder tables are still waiting to order and the table next to us arrived after we did but received their order while we are still waiting to order. I should’ve notice the signs ahead of time when it seems to have empty tables while they are still busy. The manager explained the longer wait is because everyone came in all at once so his kitchen is slammed. The truth should be is the manager saying he only has two waitresses working the tables. He should have also pointed out that there is a hostess/cashier while he is also seating people and figuring out table seating for number of guests. So basically, there are two people greeting and seating. I think he should have been helping with tables in order to keep customers and keep them happy. There has already been a table seated and got up to leave. We should have followed their lead. After waiting even longer just to order, the food did come out pretty quick. That tells me that the kitchen was definitely cranking out the food. There was still chaos in the dining room as other tables were asking the busboy if they can order not knowing he’s the busboy. It was that good ‘ol saying, «it’s like pulling teeth…» I can tell you that the batter for the waffle has been stirred too much and didn’t have much flavor with much density. The eggs were also just as dense which is very odd. The only thing that I wanted to have as a last bite is the bacon which was crispy just how it should be. The table assignments were two tables and then skip one and get one. Which makes it frustrating for customers to get someone’s attention to place an order. No matter how well your waitresses are and can handle, it’s the leadership that failed this restaurant. I think it is very disorganized. It was pointless to even point out a mistake in the order. The manager said he would take care of it at the register when we take care of the bill. That’s a lot of bullshit. Too bad Jerry’s Deli closed and this would be the only late night option. I feel sorry for the students as far as options after hours to study or hangout. Free Wi-Fi didn’t help at all. This would explain the 2 ½ star ratings for most if not all the neighboring Lenny’s in the area. I would travel further and go somewhere else. If you’re stuck with this place, good luck!

I rarely give out one star or less. I’m starting my review as we are still waiting to have our order taken after 35 mins. We were seated before two groups who came after us, seated to our right and left. They got their orders in before us! We spoke to the manager. He explained that another waitress was taking care of us. The other two tables were taken care of by a different waitress. No apologies, just excuses. Then he said it was our fault for being seated. WTH! We were brought to the table and had no idea about their seating system. After we finally ordered, our food came out right away. However, I ordered the Cali Club Sandwich but received it without the avocados… Club Sandwich. I wanted them to just give us the avocados to take with my leftovers. The manager said he’d take care of it but it wasn’t taken care of when we received our check. I don’t mind paying for it. Just add my avocados. Okay, so finally he understood. He said he’d comp my meal and added slices of avocados. I guess I’d have to add half a star but what a hassle. Revised: taking away the added half star. The manager LIED! If you decide to eat here and the manager tells you he’ll comp your meal, make sure he takes the receipt back and make the revision. I thought it was strange when he mentioned to take it to the cashier to have it taken off. He changed his mind and said he only charged for the club sandwich instead of the Cali club sandwich. Ay dios mio! What a way to start the New Year. I understand it’s busy for them as it’s New Year’s Day, but come on, at least apologize for your unorganized system of taking care of your customers. My recommendation is develop teamwork. The star goes to the new busboy who took care of our drinks, working his butt off with a smile. Also, to the kitchen staff members for preparing our meals quickly, despite the waitress messing up my order. Our waitress was unapologetic and mentioned the manager was going to take it off our bill anyways. It was between this place and Norms. So very sorry guys for choosing this place. Definitely next time we will be at Norms when we’re in this area. Please clean up your CS here. Btw, Happy New Year.

While the prices and familiar menu make Denny’s a smart choice in busy Westwood, this place is hit and miss. There was one waitress here who was absolutely fantastic, and she made the place worth the visit. Aside from her, though, most of the servers seemed slow and disinterested. I often ordered breakfast and usually couldn’t bring myself to eat my side of Egg Whites, which were often too slimy. While this place isn’t swamped at night, a ton of tables seem to stay unclean and covered in crumbs(if not plates). I recommend stopping by in the morning or for early lunch; everything seems to run much more smoothly then.

You know that you’re getting older when you look forward to waking up early on a Saturday for a hearty breakfast. I usually run out of food in my fridge by the time Saturday rolls around. What a convenient excuse to go out and eat a yummy breakfast! Oh and the best part about dennys is that they have GRITS! I’ve been to plenty of fancy delicious breakfast/brunch spots in Beverly Hills/century city. But let’s be real. On a Saturday morning, all you want to do is roll out of bed and eat a greasy piece of bacon. Parking is not a hassle in Westwood when you go early for breakfast!

After driving around and around to find parking this place isn’t one of the good Denny’s. Service was ok and the food was warm. One of us ordered the Santa Fe skillet that usually comes out sizzling, not from here though. I wouldn’t come back here.

I have an affinity to Denny’s from my childhood. Came here for a late-night dinner(love 24 hour places). The décor is a little drab, and the table I came and sat at had not been wiped yet. But our server was really nice and immediately came to help. I ordered the Philly Cheesesteak omelette, which was decent for the price. It came with toast. All for $ 10. My friend ordered a burger with fries, but I guess they came out with the wrong fries, so they brought him the correct fries AND they took 20% off our bill. That’s pretty awesome. Metered parking free after 8pm right in front.
