Roundabout Designer Consignments

Don’t waste your time at this place. I had a brand new pair of Christian Louboutins that my mom bought me 8 years ago at Barney’s. I never got around to wearing them hence why I brought them to Roundabout in their original box and dust bag. The shoes were absolutely gorgeous and untouched– black silk with Swarovski crystal detailing. The employee accepted them on the spot and instantly handed me a consignment for to fill out. Flash forward a few weeks later and I get a call from a different employee asking me to come pick up the shoes because they are fake. Could this store be any more unprofessional? The shoes were the farthest thing from replicas and never once has anything in my closet been fake. I had to go out of my way to pick up my authentic shoes which were unfairly labeled as knock-​offs. I don’t know who they have inspecting their items, but they clearly have zero knowledge of designer goods plus I doubt that there are any Westport residents that wear knock-​offs. I felt extremely judged and hurt by the way the girl working treated me after I went out of my way to pick up the shoes. I sent a follow-​up email to the store and unsurprisingly got no response. Clearly, this place has no concept of customer service. In a town like this and in the consignment business in general, I have a feeling it is important to build relationships with your customers/​consigners.
I vowed never to return, but made the mistake of coming in with my mom who also had a few things to consign. They immediately denied all of her items including brand new gold Jimmy Choo heels and two brand new large Hermes head wrap scarves purchased just next door at Mitchell’s. While she was at the counter, I decided to browse their selection. Most of the items were far from designer– several Lilly Pulitzer used dresses, juicy couture garments, worn Bally tank tops, and Lacoste polos. Overall a pretty cheap and tacky selection from a circa-​2004 Westport housewife closet. If you’re looking to consign, go to Then Again or a Second Time Around location (there’s a few in Fairfield county). Good luck staying in business, Roundabout. The place always looks extremely empty and the salesgirls seem to think that they work at Saks. With the rise of online consignment apps (i.e. Poshmark and The Real Real), I doubt you ladies have much of a chance.

Pretentious is an understatement. Brought things to consign and was told a Louis Vuitton scarf, brand new James Perse shirts, and a brand new lululemon jacket were not upscale enough, and that the condition was not good. They were brand new! Why did I lug things in to them? Also, as a buyer… They are way over priced even for used designer items. What a way to lose a customer — Insult them. I guess if it’s not Hermes, they don’t want it.

Review is the truth– though you likely have me confused with another interesting situation.
Not one thing you responded with matches anything about me. Never house sat in my life– have never had any discrepancies with law and never changed my address.
Even your entire staff was embarrassed about the length of time it took to reissue the «missing check»

Based on what I’ve heard, this was typical behavior from you.
Avoid paying, avoid communicating, complete runaround.
if consignor forgets; keep the profit.

Love the store. Love the selection. A nice bag selection, but they go fast so be ready to purchase! Lovely shoes as well. The store is easy to navigate and the staff is welcoming.
I saved $ 1100 on a BRAND NEW bag! — with tags, BTW.

Everything is separated by season and color, it makes life easier!
The bag selection is small to medium but very good!
The shoes always look like they were used once or brand new.
They sell used and new stuff.
Chanel bags change weekly…
Give it a try a few times …
Went here 2x before I got an awesome deal on a pair of Louboutins!!!
