Really, really nice. We had been traveling through the arctic Blast the day before Valentine’s Day 2016. My wife and I were road weary and hungry and dreading the prospect of settling for the freeway exit selection. Thank you Unilocal! We could have never imagined finding such a nice cozy place. The food was excellent! The staff was friendly, it was a set menu for Valentine’s Day and they seated us without reservations. Not only would we eat here again, we might even consider making the 2 hour drive just to do so. It is hard to find fine dining in WV. It’s hard just to find a restaurant without a television. Thank you.

Going to Weston means Bistro fries and portebella quesadilla. Literally can’t have a bad meal here.

We were checking out this sleepy town on a mini road trip and I’m so glad we popped into Thyme for dinner. Our waitress was blonde and super friendly. She was chatting with us not only about the menu but about the town and was just really engaging and helpful. It must have been homecoming because there were a lot of young girls in dresses, even so the service was timely and attentive. The food was so flavorful and just made you feel warm and content after each bite. I had the Mushroom risotto and added a salmon topper(chicken was the other option). The mushrooms they used were so tender and buttery. The risotto was creamy and just the right bit cheesy. The seasoning was great and the food was delicious and filling. It gave the sense of being homemade, that time and attention went into each dish. Some of the breweries in town are nice but as far as food I wouldn’t have any interest in eating somewhere other than Thyme the next time I visit Weston.

Great meal and a great staff. We enjoyed a late lunch and the waitress was fantastically gracious and gave us fantastic service. We enjoyed the bistro fries, the quesadilla, club sandwich, the fried chicken sandwich and the steak hoagie. All were very well prepared and perfectly seasoned. So good that we would have taken pictures– but we all tucked in so fast we never got the chance! Our only criticism of the meal was the salad greens were laced with manky bits that were inedible– this the 4 stars. So if you’re touring the asylum and town– we highly recommend this place!

This is the most unsuspectingly awesome restaurant I’ve found to date. After reading glowing Unilocal reviews, we decided to head over on a rainy Tuesday for dinner after a long day of traveling. Parking is on the street, with plenty of spaces around, but 2 conveniently right out front. Meters stop after 5(small town beauty). It’s a quiet and quaint restaurant, but plenty of room for bigger parties. Décor had more effort than I expected, considering the outside doesn’t really have much curb appeal. Waitress was great: polite, quick, gave good suggestions. The time between appetizers, dinners and dessert was a good pace. No dawdling, but we didn’t ever feel like we were being pushed out the door. The menu is a one-page new American, with options for everyone. We ended up going for the Crab in the Cage appetizer for one entrée based on suggestion. This dish is creative and tasty: friend noodles incasing what’s essentially crab-cake meatballs over a light mustard sauce. I’ve been to restaurants up and down Maryland, home of the blue crab, and I have never seen a take on the standard crab cake as playful and new as this one. I went with the Steak over potatoes and chorizo(the exact description is alluding me). I asked for Medium Rare, and that’s what I got! Presentation was nice, and it was a filling meal. Comes with house salad or soup, and I chose the soup which was Italian Sausage and Lentil. Tasty and comforting on a dreary day. This meal was easily one our favorites we’ve ever had, and I really never expected it from such a tucked-away restaurant in West Virginia. Bonus Points for a staff member turning on light jazz JUST as I was thinking it was a little too quiet. Definitely helped the vibe!

I’m not sure who’s idea it was to open a place like this in a dying river town, but it was brilliant. Amazing food, very fun and positive experience.

This is honestly the best food in Weston, however the attitude and service are far inferior to the quality of food. Multiple times I’ve ordered out and not received my order correctly, only to receive attitude for calling back and requesting they give me what I paid for. This is not on menu changes I just ordered straight from their menu. Also went there for lunch at 230 in afternoon and was turned away because they were closing at 3p. Understand this, I don’t care how they run their business, it’s theirs to do with as they wish. I’m just saying if the service and quality of attitude not only by the employees but the owner as well was half as good as the food this would be a 4 star joint as it stands … I’ll never recommend it spend money here. My money my choice … Your store your choice!

Geoff and the gang do a great job at Thyme Bistro. They bring a slight touch of big city food to a small town in the West Virginia hills. The lunch menu consists of daily homemade soups, fresh salads, and burgers/wraps of your choice. They run a daily special that usually adds a bit of flair and flavor that’s not available on regular menu. Great place to have quick lunch or if your just passing through the area. Deff worth the 3 mile drive into town.

I’m from Houston we walked in on a Monday and I instantly knew I was underdressed. NOT that the staff or patron made any remarks but this restaurant should have a line out the door every night. The locals have no idea what’s under their noses. I ordered the chicken Parmesan. The salad was a nice and green and crisp with blue cheese crumbled and dressing on the side. The breast was juicy and had good flavor. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the marinara was just understated enough to let the chicken be the star of the plate. Others ordered a steak fillet that was an inch thick and potato crusted salmon. Looking forward to my next meal there. Did I mention the bistro fries? With Parmesan? Always order those!

In full disclosure I’ve heard this place is amazing for dinner; however, we came to Thyme for their lunch, which is a much reduced menu. I highly recommend their Fig and Prosciutto flatbread appetizer. It’s a wonderful mix of savory and sweet flavors. We ordered three sandwiches including the steak hoagie, rocket pig, and roast beef. The steak hoagie was just ok, but the waitress also said they ran out of the bread it was supposed to come with. The Rocket Pig was pretty good and the basil + arugula gave it a nice spicy flavor. The roast beef was good but not great. Overall, Thyme gets an OK3 star review. I’m really looking forward to coming back for the evening dining experience where I’ve heard there is a much larger menu and the dishes are more complex.

Exceptional dining experience. Service was excellent and the food was even better. This is not that far off of I-79. Make the effort and the time. It is well worth it. Looking forward to my next opportunity to dine at Thyme Bistro.

My significant otter stumbled across this in his quest to hit all 101 Unique Places to Dine in WV( ). He liked it so much he decided we had to return. A couple of friends were visiting the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum and the otter and I were spending the weekend at Stonewall Resort so we met up for dinner. We started with the bistro fries which were great and served with a delicious dipping sauce. Our friends had a charcuterie platter which was nicely presented. All of us enjoyed our main courses. The service was top notch and the space is really quite lovely. Quit eating at chains and check out places like this in your travels. Combine dinner here with a visit to TALA and the nearby glass museum. There’s so much fun and good food to be had in WV!

We stumbled across Thyme Bistro while looking to see what was available beyond the many fast food restaurants in the area. Although I was initially skeptical upon arriving, I couldn’t be happier about the decision to drive a couple minutes out of the way. At another reviewer’s suggestion, we had the bistro fries as a starter. They were slightly oily toward the bottom due to the way they’re presented, but even that didn’t detract from the taste. Our main course was equally well done and although we had no room for dessert, the food was so good we brought some home to eat at a later time. The prices aren’t much more than your average chain restaurant and the quality was far superior. Our only complaint would be the service was a bit slow at times. However, the wait staff were professional and our waitress apologized for taking so long. It wasn’t enough of an issue that I felt the need to deduct a star. We will definitely be going back to try other dishes and I would encourage anyone to do the same.

Yes the best in the area for food. I’ve had almost everything on the menu, it’s all tasty. Not a five because service is hit and miss and presentation just average. Tip. Try the bistro fries

We recently enjoyed dinner at Thyme Bistro and it was fantastic! I had the salmon — which was wonderful and unique — and my dining companion had a pasta dish that she said was superb. We split a dessert which was out of this world! Price was moderate for the quality of the cuisine — less than $ 60, including wine and dessert. Highly recommended!

Excellent place in a land of scarce quality. Would highly recommend it if you’re in town!
