Great place and has gotten better with time. The company and banks provide a great vibe. Heard the food is great and hope to try it out tonight.

Irish Pub inside an 1800s beer cavern with a Irish dude singing old drinking songs, Hell Yeah! Tucked away under an old brewery in Weston, this is an interesting place to grab a pint of Guinness and sing a long to a guy picking at a banjo. The caverns where the pub is now were built in the 1800s by slaves for the brewery to lager beer in. There is a lot more to this story I am sure but we got the short version from our server. There is a tour that is $ 5 but we weren’t there when they were offering that. They only serve Weston Brewery beer as well as Guinness. As for the beers I enjoyed the Cream Ale which reminded me of New Glarus Spotted Cow. Their dry stout was OK but with Guinness on the next tap I would choose that every time. The Irish Red was drinkable and would suit the need but it was not fantastic or real complex in flavor. I love the fact that we were underground so no cell service and no wifi. The millennial in me cringed at first but it does make you enjoy this place more. Plus everyone is singing along to «Irish Rover» and chatting about so why not join them! No better atmosphere for as far as an Irish pub goes and I will be back to take the full tour and get more of the history of this place.

A favorite place to visit when in the Leavenworth area. Traditional Irish pub fare, delicious beer from the brewery. Try the beer sampler and the bangers and mash. Yum!

Went into this place for the atmosphere. They have three layers of underground caves. Live music, but watch out for the 5.00 cover fee on the weekend. Good live music and drinks. I swear you’ll enjoy this place. Leave me hate mail if you hate it.

This place is awesome. The atmosphere, beer, and live music can’t be beat. But, the microwaved food keeps it from getting five stars. The food is just gross.

I had no idea this place existed until a friend told me about it. What a surprise! The restaurant area feels like I’m back in time in a little cottage from the 1800s, complete with oil lamps and long wooden tables. The pub area was amazing! So exciting to go down the tunnels to the different sitting areas. Both musical acts were great and everyone was incredibly nice. I really did feel like I was transported to another time in history. Absolutely geeked out. Great, different, homey and fun place to go to on a Friday night!

Don’t go here unless you want to have a blast. Seriously. We walked into the upper level and had dinner at the restaurant. We tried the new Irish egg rolls and crab cakes to start with, and each had a beer flight. Their home brews are pretty tasty! My favorite was the root beer, but be careful… The atmosphere was great, kerosene lamps on the tables, a little cold to add to the authenticity of it all, and very nice servers. ANDTHEN… The second level down is a full bar with live entertainment. You wind down some stairs and tunnels to get to the first of two of these underground areas. The entertainment is very irish in nature and the crowd is all about participating. The drinks are strong and this is a place to meet new people. I was in love already. This starts at 8pm. The lowest level is a cellar type area that I again just fell in love with. It smelled musty, but that just added to the authenticity of it. I drank a concoction called«root beer float» for most of the night, and it was… dangerous. I think my face hurt from smiling so much. The man playing and singing in the lowest level was making hilarious toasts all night keeping people drinking. By the time it was time to stumble home I had about 10 new friends that I would legitimately talk to again. Oh, and a $ 400.00 bar tab… which tells you just how much fun we were having. This was a Friday night, New Year’s Day. One interesting point of the cellar area was that the bar was separate down there, so you couldn’t see the drinks being poured, and it added to the place. There was no food down on the lower levels to my knowledge. My only complaint: The food upstairs wasn’t really that great. I had a steak, it was served with green beans and potatoes, mostly seemed like it came from cans. The steak was overcooked. Also, only one bathroom at the top, so be prepared to take the jaunt if you need to pee, but it wasn’t so bad. If you live anywhere near this place you can’t miss out on it. Historical, fun, cultured. It would make a FANTASTIC romantic weekend winter getaway with the historic St. George hotel located just down the street, and a full main street of antique stores, shops, and boutiques.

Pretty authentic Irish pub or at least an idealized version of a wee village pub — food was good, have magners on draft and their own brews — cool experience for people visiting the Kc area!

Drink the hard rootbeer. You won’t find a more legit hard rootbeer anywhere in the world. Take a trip down the 3 levels of cave and get drunk — or stay up top and have a decadent meal. This place is nothing short of the shit. Highly recommended for anyone passing through this area.

Dark, dirty, and absolutely awesome. This underground pub has one of neatest atmospheres of any bar I have ever been to. The house brews are definitely worth trying and there is live music every weekend too.

My husband, in laws and I went here for lunch today before we took in the quaint town; it was fantastic! The food was fresh and delish. What I really liked was the menu, simple but different with clear descriptions of what each entrée consisted of. The beer list is also simple but through. We walked away stuffed beyond miserable with a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is something to be said for all in itself. Lots of character without being too overhwleming. It seemed as if it was rather busy for a Wednesday lunch hour, there were only 2 waitresses but they did a great job working as a team and we never felt as if they were too busy to help us out. Great place to eat! Can’t wait to go to the pub one day.

Totally worth smelling like mildew and smoke for a growler of their hard root beer. And I’m not being mean when I say that. This stuff is addictive at first sip! This bar sits 55′ below ground in the Weston Brewing Co limestone cellars. Our bartender Adam gave us a group tour which was a great additive to our visit here where we got to learn a lot about their history. You can order in food from America Bowman restaurant if you want. The scotch eggs are on point!

This place is magic. Every time I go, I feel whisked off to Ireland. It might be the thick stone walls. Or the damp air. Or the guy playing Irish folk songs and giving Irish blessings between gulps of his beer. Or maybe it’s the beer. Weston Brewing Co’s beer is some of my favorite in the whole city. I love this place. Love it.

How I have missed the opportunity to descend deep into the earth for so long is beyond me. O’Malley’s Pub, in all its subterranean goodness, is a great place to snag a beer and listen to some local music on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights. Weston Brewery’s own is on tap including the delicious Drop Kick Ale, Cream Ale, and a new root beer concoction(served over ice) with an alcoholic twist. A couple things of note — I love this place. I’d come here every weekend if it were closer. The atmosphere is so unique(think Hobbit meets Harry Potter only in Ireland). That being said, there are three real detriments. First and foremost, there are 37 steps(some even, some uneven) on your way down to the dungeon. I don’t mind the walk, but it could really be rough on those with mobility issues. Secondly, there is a moldy, mildewy smell that comes with being 40 feet underground. Not their fault, but definitely could irritate those with allergies. Finally, it’s also a smoking bar and that smoke isn’t easily able to escape. Detriments aside, this is a great place for a pint and chat with friends.

This was the destination and last in a series of pubs when we planned our«Drink across the plains» pub-crawl. And it was fitting to save the best for last! The beer is cold and flavorful, and the food as well. The surroundings are unique and down right fun, and down you go into the old train station underground. All in all it makes for a fun destination that will keep pub crawlers happy and entertained.

A unique experience with great music and atmosphere, but lots of smoke. I’ve now gone into both levels of the underground pub at O’Malley’s. The upper level had one musician playing and nice, high set booths. I had a very nice time during that experience. A couple of years later, I returned to O’Malley’s on a Friday night and went down to the lower level pub. This level has a great look to it. Feels almost like a speakeasy crossed with an old subway tunnel. They had a three person Irish themed band. The band was fantastic and the drinks were cheap. While they didn’t have a huge beer list, they had plenty to choose from and also some interesting shots. This would have easily been a 5-star review except for one thing… I’m not a smoker, nor is my husband. Seems like we were about the only people in the pub that weren’t smokers. For an underground area, that smoke sure doesn’t go anywhere. It reeked in there and my clothes and hair all reeked horribly the next day. I had to wash everything. I had been wanting to bring my mother there, but with her sensitivity to smoke I changed my mind. I wish they’d change the smoking policy. If you’re a smoker, this is definitely your ideal hangout. If not, just be prepared for it.

Possibly one of Kansas City’s most historical and interesting bars. Known for being used as a spot along the underground railroad, a prohibition bootleggers paradise and now a dank celler for nightcrawlers willing to sample the breweries creations. This is a place not to miss. I would highly recommend it. The beer is good, the atmosphere is welcoming and there really isn’t an unfriendly face to be found. Theres usually a fun band to watch and nice selection of home brewed greats to try out. GO !

It was a busy night. Being a local, we love to come here to eat. The Fish –n– Chips are an easy decision and of course an Irish staple! However, this night, they were just ok. They are normally quite delicious. They were not a crisp as they usually are and one side was a bit hard — like it was been sitting on a warmer. Busy or not, I expect my food to be cooked fresh when I order. 4 orders and they were all the same.
