When we visit our friends we always visit The Long Branch! While the popularity has soared over the years which has led to increased wait times, it is always worth the wait! Imagine a breakfast on three plates… full plates! Biscuit and gravy, hash browns, 2 eggs and the largest chicken fried steak you’ve ever seen! They have four types of gravy but the best is the original sausage gravy… thick, white hearty stuff of legends. We did notice this time there are small changes. The potatoes weren’t quite as crispy around the edges, the chicken fried steak was chewier… but the biscuits were still fluffy and you can still get for pancakes for $ 1! Just go! It’s amazing! Breakfast all day! Little Weston will appreciate it.

Wow! My wife and I recently rode the bike here to have breakfast after hearing great things and we weren’t disappointed. I have received some mean PM’s in the past because I gave some place like this a 5 star rating. Please realize that I give the Long Branch 5 stars based on what it is, which is a fantastic, old school, small town café and saloon. It’s not a white linen tablecloth type of place with a bathroom attendant. By 5 stars I don’t mean to imply it’s fancy, as some rating systems base stars on. The Long Branch Café & Saloon is all that is great about small town café’s that have stood the test of time. When we visited it was pretty busy, and most of the diners seemed like they were probably locals, and there were tables full of them. Amazingly friendly service. The entire place is spotlessly clean, the dining area, bathrooms, etc. It’s obviously owned and run by folks that care and take pride in their business. The breakfast selections are many, and all sounded great. If you get something with gravy you have a choice of 4 types of gravy. I had the hash, and you get to choose the meat or to have all of it. I went for the«all of it», which I believe was bacon, ham and sausage, with a biscuit and sausage gravy instead of toast. I am searching to find a word adequate to describe how truly delicious and well prepared the hash was. It was THAT good. The hash-browns it was served over were cooked to perfection with just the right amount of crispness. I ordered my eggs over hard and they were spot on. BIG, plentiful chunks of sausage in the sausage gravy with my biscuit. It was all I could do to eat everything, and it was delicious. Would order again without hesitation. My wife ordered their chicken fried steak, and thankfully she shared a bite or two with me. Large portion, perfectly cooked and over the top delicious. It’s rare to find chicken fried steak this good any more. The next time we go, and we will be going again, I will probably order the chicken fried steak myself. We both had bloody Mary’s as well. We are big fans of a good bloody Mary and have been disappointed more than once. Not here. Just the right spice level, a nice pimento and a spear of pickled asparagus. They don’t make them nearly this good most places any more. If you enjoy a good bloody Mary, do yourself a favor and order one here. Our only decision is whether or not we want to go for breakfast or maybe lunch or dinner next time. We’ve already talked about taking our kids because we know they would really enjoy this place. This is everything you don’t find in a chain place that’s close to a major interstate. The atmosphere is unique and cool. There is a large collection of salt and pepper shakers, some antique baking soda tins, some old meat cleavers, etc. It’s not some designers idea of «faked retro», it’s the real deal. I suspect a lot of the items have been in there for decades. The building is from the 1870’s. It’s hard to imagine how many farmers and ranchers have probably enjoyed meals here over the years, and obviously many still do. Weston isn’t a tourist type town, and to me, that’s part of it’s great charm, and the appeal of the Long Branch. It’s a town inhabited largely by hard working American’s that probably know the names of every neighbor. It could have been featured in a Norman Rockwell painting. If towns like that are something you enjoy then you need to make it a point to visit the Long Branch. Now that we’ve tried it we plan to keep going back. A bit of a hidden gem for sure.

HUGE portions. Really cheap. If you could assign a half of a money sign that’d be appropriate. For instance, pancakes are $ 1.00. Not per pancake, PERPLATE of pancakes. I like getting drinks at the old-style western bar for breakfast. Great local gem.

I love this place. Love. It. It is not fine cuisine, but it is a wonderful café-style restaurant in a historic building in downtown Weston. Meals are ridiculously priced, especially for out of towners — meaning, you can get lunch for two with sides and beverages for under fifteen dollars. I don’t know how they stay in business at these prices. That said, the food is really pretty good. Your salad is going to be iceburg, and that’s ok, provided your expectations are set to match. I really, really like this place. And, though I don’t eat red meat, their burgers looked amazing.

Wow. I don’t know where to begin with this review. Hmm, let’s do breakfast first. Chicken fried steak with knock-out gravies(especially liked the sausage). Hamsteak comes on a separate plate. Piggies in a blanket awesome. Okay, partner, let’s visit the burger ranch in Dodge City and visit Marshall Dillon– two huge patties, two cheese, thick cut bacon, slices of ham and roast beef, swiss mushroom melt, and ALL the condiments. Lesser stacks of scrumptious burgers also available. And all with home made sauce. Wow, I am so full, my palate is sated, and I still have a bunch of money left in my wallet. Not that I squeak when I walk, but I am really tired of spending big bucks for greasy imitations at many of the new fast food establishments. This building is very old, very cool, comes with eclectic décor, and always the most friendly waitresses(I have NEVER been waited on by a rude person– these folks work really hard to take care of you). To top it off, I have never stopped here without chatting with one or two local families– never heard a complaint from ONE of them. Guess you have to trust me on this one. I have made a couple of stops a year to dine here for about ten years in a row. Oh, and I shouldn’t forget to mention the restrooms: «Festus» for guys and«Kitty» for the ladies. Stop in– you won’t regret it!!!

This place is OK at the most. I’ve had good times here and better times. The food is off and on. I can say that when I first ate here about 8 years ago the food was much better. Then the food tasted home-made. Now it tastes of freezer-burnt chicken fried steak and soggy hash browns. The staff are rude and the coffee is even worse. I took my Dad here for Father’s day this year who said this was the worst place he’s eaten in a long time(and he’s a truck driver). I would not recommend this place to anyone. Please do not try the biscuits and gravy; it tastes like Pillsbury and canned gravy!

This is an amazing place just a little bit off the beaten path. Housed in a historic building constructed in the late 1800’s and decorated with the largest salt and paper shaker collection you may have ever seen, this is the place to go if you want an «epic» meal. We were drawn in by a friend who said this was the place for some of the greatest biscuits and gravy to be found. With fresh made buttermilk biscuits and seven(yes that is no typo) kinds of gravy, we weren’t dissapointed. Biscuits flaky and warm out of the oven, sausage gravy with a perfect amount of pepper. Yum. Tried the Chicken Fried Steak and would say in my life I have only had one better(hats off to Massey’s is Ft. Worth Texas), but this was fantastic. Fork tender, melt in your mouth, with a delicious crisp batter and of course drenched in that to die for sausage gravy. All this said, we have to go back. If you can find a 7 dollar hamburger that is anything like the monsters they create here, with your choice of ham or bacon or both on top… then more power too you. They looked amazing and I am definitely headed back. Finally, the service is friendly, attentive, and good natured. Coffee never gets cold and the cup is as bottomless as you like. Was never rushed even though there wasn’t a table to be had left in the entire place. Definitely go here if you are hungry and don’t want to be.

What a find! Great place, funky and fun. I had the Wyatt Earp sandwich, very good! A little bit of the old West in Eastern Oregon.

Great food, great service, great portions and great prices. Even after moving to Portland I still have to stop by and eat on my Walla Walla visits. Not to mention Weston is a great little town, and I do mean little. Definitely worth the trip.

A very cute little restaurant! I couldn’t believe there wasn’t a review on it, so I wanted to write a small review even though I haven’t been there for a while. I remember the food and service being good. My relatives in Athena eat here quite often and enjoy it a lot.
