I hadn’t played the guitar much sinceI was a teenager in the 60’s, and Chris has been the perfect teacher to get me started again! He’s open to the old songs I love and always shows me ways to add interest and spark to them. I appreciate that he introduces me to new musicians and sends links to check out in between lessons. Chris is patient, kind, and spacious, but encourages me to stretch myself, too. He appreciates all kinds of music and will generously add beautiful accompaniment to my beginner level plucking. Chris is a gifted musician(listen on his web site!) and wonderful teacher. He’ll focus on your abilities, goals, and interests and make lessons meaningful for you!

Had the pleasure of taking lessons with Chris for a few months. I was immediately struck by his focus on my goals rather than a predetermined course which he had established. This was in contrast to other instructors, for the drums, with whom I had worked over the years. Our first lesson was about establishing what I wanted to learn. Then Chris would tailor our subsequent meetings to work toward these topics. We also were able to cover a wide range of styles and topics: blues to classical, chord shapes to scales and music theory to ear training. I wish that my time allowed my lessons to continue but I would highly recommend Chris for your guitar learning needs.

Chris is a fantastic, super patient teacher and tailors each lesson to your skill level and interests. I always felt like I had accomplished a new skill after each of our lessons and also learned a bit about music theory. I highly recommend!
