I have no one make noodle soup the way they do, tremendous quantity great tasting every time. I always take other things home with me, and they’re all delicious.

Yu’s Mandarin… I took my customers here for a business lunch with the exception of the hot and sour soup, the food is great, especially the Mongolian Beef.

The food here is quite fantastic! The standouts are the lobster, mushrooms & bok choy, and fried teriyaki chicken. Their hot tea is great and the service is attentive. They brought out the rice near the end of the meal though, which would have been nice to have at the beginning.

This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. I’m fond of the noodle platter(homemade noodles here) and sizzling beef. Like most restaurants, it’s not just the food that matters, but it’s the service that can make or break the place. In particular RENA has been outstanding in making our meals great. RENA is super nice to our kids and has a cheerful attitude. This is a busy place, and some of these orders get complicated with the different variations and she always gets it right. Looking forward to our next visit already.

Great food. Amazing food. I don’t even really like Chinese and I was blown away with how delicious it was. Now mind you I was there for a wedding reception so the brides father really, really spoiled us(like 12 courses spoiled us, literally) and served things I probably wouldn’t have ordered but a few of my favorite things were: orange chicken, tofu seafood soup, walnut shrimp, and then some dish with Lobsters in it. And the green beans. I’m not sure how one makes a green bean so good but they did it. The tea was even great too!

Had my wedding reception here recently and everyone enjoyed the food. The people working there were all very friendly and helpful. They were very accomodating to our needs and gave useful suggestions. The restaurant was clean and had nice décor. The best dishes there are the honey walnut shrimp, orange beef, sesame chicken, and the string beans. I can’t wait to try the other dishes there.

beef noodle soup is ok but a little salty.(I even feel thirsty after sleep!) the noodle are not handmade m. A lot Taiwanese come to this place for food. But I think the Chinese food are just so so. Maybe because I am not from Taiwan? Hmmmmm, not worth the visit. Go to international mall next door to have cheaper food or just drive to yu’s dumpling house. That is the place you can have hand made noodles at lower price.

Same great food quality as the original Schaumburg location. I recommend the noodle platter, crispy duck, Mongolian beef, and Szechuan eggplant(even if you don’t think you like eggplant).

We have been to Yu’s several different locations on and off over more than 3 decades and through different owners/management. Overall, they offer pretty consistent, quality dishes. So we keep on coming back.

Got take out from here. I’m from the city and I have had much better food than this, so I was very disappointed. It wasn’t bad, but for the price I paid, I was expecting better. Way overpriced. And to add, when I was picking up my food, I asked for soy sauce and hot sauce. She told me the soy sauce was in the bag, one per meal, and how many hot sauces do I want. When I responded 6 sauces, she said if I want to pay for a small order instead! I just spend $ 120 and you want me to pay more for hot sauce. I told her just give me 3. And in the end, there was no soy sauce in the bag.

Awesome and authentic Chinese restaurant! This is where the local Chinese folks go for traditional favorite dishes like hot pots, sweet corn crab soup and General Tso chicken! Try it !

Tonite was our first visit here. The first table the manager tried to place us was not ready. We waited a moment and he starts yelling, yikes. Otherwise the service, drinks and appetizer of steamed pot stickers was great. The pork and green beans were fresh and light. The sauces were tasty. We waited a bit too long for another beverage; it was later in the evening so it seemed like the manager who doubles as bartender didn’t want to fill the second order maybe due to closing shortly. We tried the sesame chicken as well. It was a nice light batter and fresh chicken. So good. The surroundings are pleasant, however there was a residue on the marble table and the tea pot should be scrubbed up. Cocktails were nice and strong for $ 7, and the bill overall …$ 50. Not bad at all with beverages and more food for home… I will definitely try them again hopefully without the yelling host!

They hired a Taiwanese chef who is a bit of a celebrity in the Chicago Taiwanese American community in the last year — so be sure to order from their separate printed Taiwanese menu and don’t come on a Wednesday(the day he takes off). 3 cup chicken, Taiwanese«chicken roll,» seafood thickened soup, and Great Wall tofu are all outstanding. As in: this place would have 4+ stars on Unilocal LA based on these dishes. Service is friendly and prompt. Ambience and décor are fantastic — classy but casual enough. I’m a bit puzzled by the lower starred reviews(I’m really picky about Chinese food — have lived in Vancouver and Taipei) but other reviewers might not know about the Taiwanese menu, are judging based on unauthentic dishes, or are ordering the foods they like at Yu’s Schaumburg and are thus understandably disappointed.

Food: good Price: a little bit pricy compares with normal Chinese restaurant Distant: far Service: good Environment: good My boyfriend took me there because he wanted to try it again. He had it before, but he said only once and could not remember. We ordered fish casserole, spicy noodle, and Szechuan beff. The fish was really good and spicy I love it! But a little bit pricy. The spicy noodle was great! The noodle was chewy and tasty!(my bf loved it a lot!) Highly recommend it! If you love spicy! The beff was okay. Not a big fan. Overall was good!

Pretty solid Chinese place for the burbs. We had a lot of the customary Mandarin(northern Chinese with some other regional dishes?) foods — cold veggie chicken, black bean clams, tofu, spicy boiled fish. Stuff I had a lot of as a kid. Good selection and pretty clean inside.

Great noodles and good service. When there on a Saturday morning thinking it was close because there was no one inside. But after we got our food, more and more people keep coming in. Their noodle are delicious, nice and fresh and CREWY. I love hand made noodle, and they don’t fail at it. I would return for sure. Which I did, because I ended up leaving my wallet there and had to go back the next day to get it. Everything was there, and they even said they didn’t open it. How nice of them for not having a field day with all my cards and saving me a trip to the DMV, and we all know what kind of trip that would be.

Beautiful restaurant — nice bright vibrant colors, nice contrast of materials, great design to host tons of customers while keeping the noise level down through dividing them into small sections, tons of decorations, beautiful plates and serving dishes, thermal metal teapots, beautiful menu with tons of pictures — all with a menu that has a wide variety of choices. Also add in food that is presented beautifully with tons of color, garnish, and nice themes. This sounds like the perfect ingredients for a perfect classy restaurant — however now add in slow service, prices that are too high for the quality, and flavors that don’t match the complexity of the dishes’s presentation and you have a confusing 3-star restaurant. This is one of those restaurants that provides a nice introduction to more authentic Chinese for the Western palate — but isn’t as well designed as Panda Express for that purpose and isn’t authentic enough for ones looking for exquisite regional cuisine. Here were my thoughts on the dishes I tried: Rice — A bit dry — also served in a very generic plastic bowl that you’d expect to see in a chop suey restaurant. Confusing as all the other dishes were served in very nice plates/bowls. Fish fillet with pickled cabbage and rice vermicelli in hot pot — Fish was tender, the broth had a good body to it without too much of a pickled cabbage flavor. Served very hot. Nice for a cold winter day. Three cups squid — Flavor was way too light and the dish itself was too sweet — there should’ve been a strong taste of basil and soy in here but I really didn’t get much of either. There was pepper and onion sauteed in this dish as well, but this barely contributed any flavor. Lollipop chicken wings — Crispy light batter with tender chicken. The sauce was like General Tso’s with a hefty amount of honey added. Good flavor overall although I wish that the heat from the Szechwan chilis was a little stronger. Noodle Soup(non-spicy) — The homemade noodles were very nice(similar to Lu’s), bouncy and flavorful with a generous amount provided. The dish also came with a good amount of seafood and meat that was cooked just enough to still be tender but not too soft. The broth could’ve used a bit more body though and was a little too sweet although the flavor of pork was distinct but not the seafood. Szechwan Beef — The beef wasn’t crispy and had a very strong honey flavor with very light hints of other flavors like garlic and chili. Wasn’t bad but wasn’t good — very similar to how most other restaurants make this dish. Only two restaurants I can think of(Sun Shui and Lao Sze Chuan) that have managed to prepare this dish well. I wouldn’t mind going here if I was in the area but I’d probably go to Mapo or Lao Sze Chuan instead if given the choice. The higher prices and inconsistency in quality between dishes are enough of a reason to travel further. With that said, if the food is improved and the prices lowered slighty to match other similar restaurants — this place has the potential to be a favorite for Chinese Cuisine in the suburbs like its counterpart in Schaumburg. The food just needs to taste as good as it looks and the dining experience needs to match the quality of the interior decorations.

Very disappointing. Recently moved to the area and went for a last minute dinner as we have been long time diners at Yu’s in Schaumburg. Ordered the egg rolls which were small, unfilled, and they only had 1 tiny piece of carrot inside. The egg drop soup was warm and not hot, which defeats the purpose of hot soup on a cold winter night. I have come to Yu’s Mandarin for Kung Pao Chicken for over 10 years and I will never go back. The lackluster quality at this location has ruined the memories of Yu’s for me as this was mine and my fathers favorite lunch spot. Service was horrible and lead to my 1 star review. Our waiter failed to check on us and as I got up to find him and explained our displeasure with the egg rolls he indicated he could not remove the item from the bill but could offer us something different. Our main dish had arrived already and thus defeated the purpose of an appetizer. I will not be going back and hope that the Schaumburg Location is never this disappointing.

I’m not quite sure why the stars for this restaurant are so low– therefore my hope is to give my two cents to the city of Westmont. The Lollipop Fried Chicken is delicious. They give you a generous portion and I’m pretty sure I could have eaten a whole plate by myself.(But if course, sharing is caring.) They were crunchy with a hint of spicy kick. I would definitely go for this if you want something filling and tasty. The Honey Glazed Walnut Shrimp was also pretty good. The majority of my group really enjoyed the Manila Clams/Flaming Wok. There were about a couple of dozen clams in the wok– a bit salty for my taste– but the rest of my group loved them. Make sure to order a bowl of rice to share. Service was attentive and overall experience enjoyable and satisfying. Plus, there’s a $ 20 for $ 15 Unilocal deal– thumbs up. I would definitely come back.
