Waterbed Doctor

When my emailed questions went unanswered, I called Waterbed Doctor on the phone. «Jerry» was very disappointing, unable or unwilling to give me advice about mattress firmness and feel, which is the crucial factor for me. While knowledgeable, he kept refusing to help me with softness ratings, telling me the information was «subjective,» as if the company was afraid of sued for making telling people the real poop. In detailing «features» like thickness of vinyl or warranties, he seemed only to want to sell a product. Since waterbed mattresses are all sold online today, customers have to get more guidance in picking out the best mattress for what they want and need. Thank goodness I was able to find the help I needed from a different online site.

This pertains to the ordering process. I have not yet received the mattress.
My old mattress is 32 years old, and the liner is toast. So since I have to drain the mattress anyway, I figured I would replace it. Mike was polite, knowledgeable, and easy to deal with. There was no pressure, no up-​sell, and no BS. Helped me select the right mattress, and offered to ship it out same day.

Last Thursday we noticed that our almost 20 year old waterbed mattress (yes, people do still sleep on waterbeds!) had a leak. Not just a pin hole leak, mind you, but a full blown, 1″ long crack! Knowing that this is not something you find on every corner like you could in the 80’s & 90’s, I did what everybody does now: Google!
Lo & behold, the first name that came up was Waterbed Doctor. And they are in Southern California! I find exactly what I’m looking for, but want to check on how long it’s going to take to be delivered. I call them Friday morning & naturally the mattress I have picked is not in stock. But the wonderful man who answered the phone directed me to one that is in stock & tells me I can get it by Tuesday if I order on Friday. Ordered it after getting home from work on Friday night & had the tracking number for UPS shipment in my email on Monday. And just like promised, my package delivered Tuesday.
