I came here… because of the food. Surprise surprise. They had a lot of beautiful orchids, one of my favorite flowers! They sell a lot of things for the lunar new year like red envelops and fruit. I tried the grilled squid and pandan coconut waffle. Both were really good! The sauce with the squid was delicious. Boyfriend basically licked our little tray clean. Pandan waffle was AMAZING. Stayed crispy the whole time I ate it. I’ve been craving it ever since… Hopefully they’ll have it at the tet festival this weekend. Parking is a nightmare over here… we ended up parking across the street near Seafood Cove 2 and walked over.

They sell flowers, fruit and other gifts for lunar new year. I enjoy coming out for the grilled food items. Unless you grill every weekend, it’s a great opportunity to try Vietnamese style grilled meat sticks, squid and large clams. The squid is $ 4-$ 5 and it’s so good. It’s not chewy and grilled just right. The dipping sauce is tangy and delightful. I want the recipe! My other favorite thing to get here is the $ 2.00 coconut waffles. It’s crispy on the outside and warm & soft on the inside. They also have noodle soups here. My favorite is the banh canh. The broth is flavorful and tasty. It can get super crowded and items sell out, so coming early is best. We always park on the street behind asian garden mall. I wish I took some pictures but I always inhale the food before I can. Sorry X. X

**Very Cool ReView!!** Flower Festival!!! I’m not going to do a long review. My Unilocaler buddy Howie pretty much explained it all. But every year Vietnamese community here in Lil Saigon like to celebrate the Chinese year and come here to the Flower Festival at the famous Asian Garden Mall where every Vietnamese people are at on the weekends with their kids, mama, grandma, you name it, they are here in this tiny mall so if you come here when its around the Chinese new year or any weekend, pray you find a parking space, took off a star for that. But the new condos across the street are currently charging $ 5 so thank you to them, I didn’t have to fight for a space! Usually you would come to this festival to buy gifts to bring over someone’s house or just buy something for your own house. I posted photos. They speak a thousand words so I’ll end here since I’m eating lol. Chuc Mung Nam Moi!!! By the way, new years is on the 31st, 2014 this year! I will be going to the famous Tet Festival at the OC fair grounds on Feb 7 – 9. Yayeee!!! :))))))) **Edit** I don’t know why but when I went in the afternoon on the weekend, I don’t remember seeing any food booths, maybe it’s only at nights? Anyways, I came back Monday night and wowswers! Food booths! I forgot I was vegan for the day lmao! I was still vegetarian though. I stayed away from the meats but they were grilling meats and corn on the cobs, and squid? No clue. They had Bun Bo Hue and Bun Rieu! And Bambu Desserts and Drinks were there! Yippee!!! I had this place on bookmark forever!!! I got the Bo Dam and it was good!!! The line moves fast and they make your drinks in under 2 minutes no joke! I was such a happy camper that night. See ALL my photos. The Unilocal app only allows 10 photos in my review. Boohoo. You could see more photos on the business Unilocal page. Thanks for reading!!! :)

Looking for gifts for Chinese New Year/Tet/Lunar New Year? You can’t go wrong with flowers, plants, or red envelopes, all of which are in abundance at the Asian Garden Flower Festival. Open from 10 am — 10 pm for a couple of weeks before the Lunar New Year, you can find it in the front parking lot of the Asian Garden Mall. Admission is free. There are lots of orchids, pussy willows, kumquat trees, mandarin orange trees, flying dragon trees, peach blossoms, and numerous other plants and flowers. There aren’t any food stands outside, but you will find stands selling red envelopes ranging from Hello Kitty, Doremon, Dispicable Me, and Winnie the Pooh designs to traditional red with gold lettering. There are also other new year’s related trinkets. If you’re a flower fan looking for a diversion, well, now you have one! Even though it’s in the hectic heart of Bolsa, it is a rather relaxing walk… as long as you keep a fair distance from the entertainment stage.
