We’ve driven past this restaurant numerous times and decided to celebrate our friends birthday there. I must sat, the grounds are beautiful. We were seated near a window with the view of their little lake and fountain. Although outside dining is available, it was a tad chilly, and the patio wasn’t open the evening we were there. When we made the reservation, we specifically mentioned it was a birthday celebration. My friend ordered the roasted cauliflower starter and special non dairy soup of the day. The cauliflower was presented beautifully, both purple and white cauliflower were featured and it was delicious! My hubby and I split a golden beets salad. While there was a splitting charge of 3.00 in addition to the 15.00 salad, the salad was beautifully presented on two plates. Enjoyed the tiny slivers of pears and thinly sliced piece of golden beets, I would have preferred more beets for the buck. For entrees my hubby ordered the squid ink tagliolini found it quite tasty. Portion size wasn’t huge, price tag there was 29.00. I ordered an eggplant dish with homemade pasta. It too was tasty, however, I would have preferred more eggplant rather than the few small diced pieces I was served. We had to remind the waiter we were celebrating a birthday. He apologized profusely, explaining he wasn’t informed. Communication break down along the line. The waiter brought a cup of vanilla ice cream topped with berries and a sparkler. We also ordered an apple crostata which was good along with a side of sorbet. Service during the evening was overly attentive. The waiters were clearing the plates before we had finished. At one point I was sipping some water and the waiter asked if I was finished eating. There still was some food on my plate, so I swallowed quickly and ask him not to take the plate. Although attentiveness is a virtue, overly so is annoying. This was not a leisurely paced dinner, not relaxing. Felt as though we were being rushed along. Prices are a tad high for the portion size. Food was tasty and presentation their best feature.

Was unable to dine at restaurant because valet would only allow 1 hour in the electric vehicle parking spot which is not enough time to charge the vehicle or dine. Valet attendant was rude and non accommodating and didn’t not care if the business lost our business. Don’t ever plan on going back… Update: So we tried the restaurant for dinner on a Sunday evening and all I can say is wow. Food was excellent. The Margarita Pizza was the best we’ve had since Naples, Italy. For dinner we both got the 18 oz rib eye and it was cooked perfectly and tasted great. We are very interested in trying other items on the menu, but will avoid valet days. lol

My girlfriends and I met here and we were seated promptly. We enjoyed the food and wine. We especially loved the ambiance. Friendly staff although I felt they could have been more professional. Our server actually felt comfortable enough to use the F bomb at our table. Hmmm, unprofessional. I actually think we were forgotten about or something because it took over 15 minutes for us to get service. Manager said he would buy my margarita for the trouble but it was never taken off the bill. I didn’t fuss bc that wasn’t the point. Whatever. We will likely pick someplace else to meet up next time.

This place is amazing! Food was excellent especially the bread with the olive tapenade! I ordered the king salmon — a huge portion and very delicious. They have a nice terrace outside that’s heated when it is cooler in the evening. Very friendly staff. Bread and refills before asking even though the restaurant was full.

Overall it’s a nice restaurant, great service and the food was okay. The booth we sat in was slightly uncomfortable but that is no reason to not visit this restaurant. The food was good, not great. So it’s hard to complain about anything which is a good thing but this is not a restaurant I’m going to go out of my way for and its not on the top of my list of restaurants I would recommend to a family member or friend. They are receiving 4 stars because the service was really good and food was edible.

Loved the food that I tried at an event held here, but what really stood out were the drinks! They were perfection! Mixed just right not too strong not to light and very creative. They had an avocado martini very citrusy and good, but the balsamic and strawberry martini is a must try. The restaurant is beautiful both inside and out and the servive is excellent. I had a great time here and am looking forward to coming back.

Drove up the coast for an event at the restaurant and I was blown away. Not only was the food delicious, the staff was amazing! They catered to our every need and made us feel right at home. I recommend the cocktails, as they were delicious, and well made. The appetizers we had were great as well, with the short rib being my favorite. Come and check this place out! You won’t be disappointed!

Had a really great experience here with a large group of LA-based travelers. The restaurant was elegant, staffed with friendly employees and had rich food. We were treated to a tasting menu that included lamb, shrimp, short rib, oxtail and octopus to name a few. I enjoyed most of the dishes and wish the portions could have offered a little more, but was very thankful for what we got! My table devoured the delicious olive tapenade with bread in between servings. Next time I’m in the area I would definitely go back to try a full meal.

This place was amazing! Food and drinks were excellent(especially the bread and olive tapenade it came with!) Drinks were sooooo good! I had a glass of Prosecco, sip of the avocado martini(so amazing)) Even the wine tasting next door was amazing! I wish I lived closer to this restaurant I would come all the time! Will definitely come back soon! If your in the area I would definitely check them out!

I am sitting in this restaurant as I type. My wife and I have been sitting here waiting to place our drink order(not even our food order) for 25 minutes now. If this were a one-off issue, I would give this restaurant the benefit of the doubt, and not write a review just yet. However, this is our 2nd time trying this place, and have had the same experience both times, hoping that they would do better. Because it is a beautiful place and the food is good, we decided to try it again. I’ve never seen such a poorly run place… By far. Even when I notified a bus boy to please have somebody come take our drink order, nobody showed up. When I notified another waiter of what was going on and asked for a manager, he just sent over a different waitress, who did not apologize and just asked«are you ready to place your order?» Finally as I walked out, a manager approached and apologized, and asked if I wanted to place a to-go order. Really? I really wanted to like this place. Too bad. Wish I could give this 0 stars.

We went to Mediterraneo for a meetup and was absolutely astounded at the quality of food. First off, Westlake Village Inn is incredible, Mediterraneo is just beautiful. We enjoyed wine, cheese(their brie was spot on), and tastings of bits of deliciousness on the menu. I was so upset my boyfriend wasnt here to experience this with me, BUT it just means we get to come back! My favorite was the Hamachi. I could eat that every day! It was citrusy and light, I highly recommend it! It was like butter, it was so soft and melted in your mouth. I could have had 5342 of those. I also loved the braised beef short ribs, the aranchini balls, the oxtail ravioli. I was also so shocked at how much i loved the Swiss Chard ravioli. I am not a fan of swiss chard, I was almost willing to give it up to someone else but I am so happy I tried it. It was definitely a highlight of my dinner. I would order that with no substitutes or anything! Atmosphere was great, food was delicious, and staff was super kind! I will be back to bring my boyfriend!

Probably the best short rib and hamachi crudo(yellowtail) I’ve had! The service was great, the outside patio had great heaters, and their cocktails were amazing. I could’ve had 2 more of those balsamic martinis! The vitello was amazing as well! That sauce — OMG! Can’t wait to come back again soon! PS– What is in the butter? I was soooo good!

I was invited to Mediterraneo for a networking mixer slash dinner the other night and it was amazing. Their features a nice variety of French, Italian and Greek inspired options, creatively presented and decently priced. My favorite was grilled octopus that reminded me of the mouth-watering food I ate when vacationing in Spain. Innovative cocktail menu was a pleasant surprise! Check out Avocado Martini if you get a chance — it sounds strange but it will blow you away. Wine list is pretty great too — my friend had Stonehaus Red from their own vineyard nearby and it was delicious. And the last but not the least, I want to mention the service — our waitress was absolutely fantastic, attentive but not hovering like in some restaurants I’ve been to before. I can ramble on and on! Definitely coming back, this time for a romantic date night.

Came here last night with a big group and we had a huge sampling of food items. Pretty much everything was delish, but my favorites were the short rib, hamachi crudo and the octopus. All well flavored and perfectly prepared. The olive tapenade and the bread were also spectacular. I think our table of four went through 3 baskets! Love love love the ambiance as well! We sat on the outdoor patio and it was gorgeous with all the lights and super cozy with the fireplace and heaters. Excellent service as well and easy parking right in front. I’d probably come back more often if it weren’t so far from me but definitely recommend if you’re in the area and looking for a good quality meal!

I took my coworker here for her birthday and we were extremely impressed by our visit! The ambiance is wonderful — very romantic, high end and beautiful. We sat indoors but saw they also have outdoor patio seating overlooking a garden and lovely pond. All of the staff we came in contact with were friendly and polite, but our server Pablo was the best. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu and very warm and welcoming. We each ordered a salad and a dessert. Everything was fantastic. The table bread was soft and flavorful, my salad was varied and had a wonderful blend of flavors and I got to try some of my coworkers seafood on her salad and it was prepared just right too! We each had the Florentine art for dessert and it could not have been better. I am already thinking about my next visit! I need to bring my husband so we can try their cheese plate!

It’s a beautiful restaurant, following the Thousand Oaks/Westlake theme, browns and tans, it’s everywhere. But it’s the outdoor patio on the water that it really nice and makes this an outstanding spot(even though the little body of water is faux and man-made). A little pricy for what you get: — — — — — — — — — — — — — 1. Eggs Benedict — for $ 14, you get two standard benedicts, with I would say, better than average hollandaise sauce. Fried potatoes that were very lightly fried up wasn’t great, but no presentation skills were applied to the plate, no orange slices, parsley twig, nothing.(4.0 stars) Service: — — — – A little on the light side and not as pro as I would like, but very nice when they were available. It’s a 3.5 star rounded up. Lots of nicer places available for dinner, but for a Sunday breakfast — recommended.

We came here for lunch. I had one of the Salmon dishes, and it was served over a bed of a type of grain, I think some type of rice or something. I remember the Salmon being well cooked, but the veggies were a bit soggy and the grains a bit tough. I also remember the price being a bit too high for what I got, and the portion size a bit too small that I was still hungry after.

I feel when headed to the Westlake Inn, the first choice is Bogies, then Stonehuas, and Mediterraneo is an afterthought. I ended up at Mediterraneo with low expectations. OMG, was I wrong. My mother and I ordered the strawberry balsamic Martini. My mom thought the idea of this martini was weird, but she was down. I was already thinking it was going to blah, cause Café Firenze’s is so amaze. When it showed up, it was kind of ugly. But I’ve got to give them praise, my mom and I though it was fabulous! We needed at least 2! There wedge is not like the rest, it comes with beets, and the dressing if not like the norm. I highly recommend it. I ordered the roast chicken with a side of their carrots. It was TODIEFOR! My mother ordered the filet mignon, and although great, she was eating off my plate. I can’t wait to come back to Mediterraneo, it will be my first choice.

We had brunch @ Mediterraneo this morning & it was perfect! Before I get into the restaurant itself I just need to mention that this whole complex it is located in is absolutely amazing. From the breathtaking views, nice gardens & walkways, to the Inn, it’s excellent all around. My wife ordered the Mimosa & I had a glass of 18 year old Glenlivet, I know what your thinking, scotch for brunch? Hey, very few places happen to carry this scotch & it’s one of my personal favorites so I can’t help it, LOL! It’s a wonderful compliment to the in house cooked(not re-heated) bread & butter you get up front with that olive spread. My wife ordered her personal favorite, the Pan Plano Mediterraneo(we added the jumbo shrimp as well) & it came out perfect as always. I believe it’s do to the fact that they have an authentic wood burning oven that makes their breads & pizzas so perfect each time! I myself tried the Chef’s Mess for the first time & it was great also. I had no intention of eating breakfast with my scotch, however when I read the description of it(scrambled egg whites, fire roasted tomatoes, cilantro, avocado, crispy tortillas, salsa) I just had to order it, plus our server reaction when I asked him how good it was had me sold. Boy, am I glad I did choose it. You must try this when you get a chance. It’s nothing special, but just tastes great. Our boys had the Breakfast Combo & the Steak meal off the kids menu. I was skeptical of eating steak there, & I was right, the meat was too gamey, my son did not really enjoy it. However he loved the presentation, french fries, & the flat bread that my wife had ordered so it was okay. The bacon on the breakfast combo was perfect, as was the french toast that came with it. It was a perfectly colored golden brown with powered sugar, butter, & syrup, tasted amazing! Service was pretty good, our waiter should have been trained a bit better because he had to go & constantly double check things, but I do appreciate that he tried his best & were good with that! Thank you once again for the great food, service, & atmosphere, we will be back! Overall Rating: A+++

Mediocre reviews on Unilocal had me worried, but we walked away satisfied and happy with out decision to dine there. Located in the wealthy area of Westlake, close to a golf course and part of a complex with a hotel and Stonehaus Winery. It’s a beautiful area and the restaurant itself is stunning — stone and dark wood give it a Mediterranean villa look. It overlooks a small pond/lake and has a decent sized patio with plenty of heaters between tables to warm chilly nights. A light and refreshing summer salad of strawberry, burrata, and arugula started our meal. Although it was oddly plated on a narrow cutting board, making it difficult to keep all the ingredients on the plank of wood. Hamachi crude followed with a balanced amount of heat and acidity from the Calabrian peppers and yuzu. Both the spaghettini con zucchini aglio olio and tagliatelle bolognese were excellent. The savory blend of meats in the latter dish made the bolognese shine. Their desserts made for a solid ending to the meal. The buttery crust and creamy chocolate filling of the chocolate pudding pie was plenty to share between my wife and kid, while the butterscotch pudding contained just enough salt to satisfy my palate. The peanuts on to were a nice touch, too. Service was only ok, not very personable. The restaurant was better than expected. The menu isn’t adventurous or cutting edge, but it’s executed at a high level. I knew the atmosphere would be nice, but the quality of food was a pleasant surprise.
