Been going to Barones since I was a kid, I have to say best pizza around. I ordered the chicken and pesto pizza and it rocks. Also try the bolognese it is to die for.

Great food and friendly service. Pepperoni pizza is the best I have had in Thousand Oaks. The pepperonis are high quality and they have a unique way of cooking the pizza so they are crisp. The texture is like nothing I have had before. I will be coming back for sure. Good beer specials too$

ordered Barone’s tonight. it came extremely fast! awesome. however, it tasted unlike any pizza I’ve had before. Almost alcoholic. as if they poured tequila in the sauce. maybe it was an off batch, or just a little over fermented. way better than dominoes and came way faster. I respect the mom n pop-ness of this place. will try again.

I originally left a 3 star review, not too bad. I stated the pizza at this location is generally pretty good and that I had no complaints with the food itself. I have ordered the veggie and Hawaiian pizza’s both turned out 4⁄5(but my review was deleted) Which is very true. Barones westlake is not my favorite pizza, but it is close to my house and enjoy it from time to time. They also have awesome outdoor seating with heaters. Atmosphere 5⁄5 there customer service leaves much to be desired.(2⁄5) I do prefer their woodland hills location, as I believe it has better service and slightly better meats. It is unfortunately so far from the house. BUT I WILLNOLONGEREATATANYBARONIESLOCATIONPERIOD. i wrote a review the other day about them leaving the power on but the location being closed. Like I said 3 stars, so it would not hurt their overall review scores to severely. The owner messaged me 15 minutes after I posted my review(please see attached screen shot) and almost DEMANDED I take down my very accurate review of the location. I explained to him I thought it was a fair review but would update again on my next visit. Apparently this was not a valid answer for him. He NEVER replied to my message, and instead had Unilocal DELETEMYACCURATEREVIEW! Unilocal: I have visited this location. I have left an accurate account of the food and my experience with the workers. I have explained my frustrations with this location and how their power issues inconvenience me(even if it was not there fault). On a side note, their Unilocal profile shows 4 stars, click the small details button next to the stars. they are currently at 2.8 and last month they were at 3.2 why is Unilocal deleting accurate reviews and showing more stars than this location actually has?

Once again I was wishing to find a place that stood up to its reviews. Must say a descent salad, a bit over dressed but good. That is why it gets 2 nothing to do with pizza. Staff friendly

Just had dinner with my wife. The food was excellent; the service was terrific; and the restaurant was spotless. Never a bad meal! By the way – they are a part of Unilocal Eat24. A great way to order pick up and delivery.

After 10 years in NYC, it’s safe to say that I am a snob when it comes to Italian food. In CA, I’m usually disappointed. Not here! Chicken parm — deelish. Pounded thin. Crispy yet tender. Legit. Bomb pizza; crispy crust, tasty. Yum. Perfect kids menu too. The gracious owner, Michael, turned us on to the creamy, miraculous cheese cake. So good, I ordered a whole one for an event I’m attending this weekend. Well done, Barones. And thank you for coming to the Conejo Valley!

I was working in Westlake today doing an install. Googled a pizzeria near by. Ordered a large cheese pizza. Got it in 30 min. Great delivery guy, got plates, napkins, cups etc. The pizza was something I never seen before. It tasted and looked like a cheddar cheese cracker. I would not recommend.

Oh Come On Westlake Village!!! Can anyone recommend a decent delivery!!! Inspired by the shrimp pesto reviews, when I sprained my ankle today and could not walk, I canceled plans and looked for delivery. I called and after sitting on hold for nine minutes, I got a young person who could not take down my address after about 7 attempts and told me I was not in Westlake. I was transferred, put on hold, transferred again. I was told they no longer have the shrimp pesto pizza. I ordered wild mushroom with extra mushrooms, a kid’s meal with buttered noodles and the chopped salad and was told it could be a 40 minutes wait, but they would rush it and it should arrive earlier. An hour and a half later, I called and they were close. A sweet kid came to my door with the following: 1. kid’s meal: noodles. no salt. no pepper. no butter! none in the bag. one sad kid. 2. a pizza with a small handful of mushrooms and a plastic flavorless film of cheese on the top that had clearly sat under a lamp. 3. a chopped salad with no flavor. no artichokes or cheese or eggs. very basic no napkins, no cutlery. no parmesan cheese. maybe it is a cool place to sit and drink beer but for delivery — my kid is now eating noodles with no butter or salt or pepper and I am looking at a cold, plasticky pizza and I still can;t stand on my ankle and make a decent meal. The only reason this is not a one star is I apparently am on a streak on bad culinary luck and don;t wish to be mean. If anyone can recommend good local delivery, I am all ears.

Barone’s has an LA Restaurant Week lunch menu this week. The server said that many items were bigger on this menu as opposed to their regular lunch special menu(I’m not so sure). The minestrone soup came out first and it was huge, very hot, and served with beef in a beef broth. I enjoyed it. For lunch, I shared the Chicken Parmesan and the individual Hawaiian pizza(6 square slices) with my lunch partner. The pizza was a little better than ok(3.5 range), but didn’t have much originality in taste. The Chicken Parm was ok too(3.0 range). The piece of chicken was really big in width, but not so much in height. The sauce was good. I wasn’t a big fan of how it was cooked and I can’t really explain it. Also, the Chicken Parm would have been more enjoyable if it were served with a small amount of pasta. I don’t do my ratings based on service(taste only), but the kitchen and server need to work on their coordination. Two minutes after the piping hot soup came out, the hot Chicken Parm and Pizza were delivered to the table. Can’t exactly do double fisting when you need to have a spoon, fork, and knife in your hand.

Solid Italian here. I found the pizza to be good! Didn’t blow me away, but good! I also tried the pasta Bolognese. It was tasty. Chopped salad was decent. Wine selection is surprisingly good. Gelato is a must here. Be sure to save room. Doesn’t matter what flavor. I’ve tried them all. The interior, to me, is pleasant. The patio is much nicer though… Lots of heating lamps too. The staff seems a little«young». I wouldn’t come out of my way, but if in the area, I’d come for a quick glass of wine and a pizza or pasta.

Came here for a Unilocal event, so I was really lucky to have tried a lot of different menu items. We tried the house salad, which I didn’t love but my friend was obsessed with so I’m going to say it was good, just not my fave. All the pizza we had was really good. The combo was my favorite. All of the ingredients seemed fresh. The crust… Amazing!!! Thin but not too thin and a little crispy and chewy in all the right ways!!! The servers(every single one) was so nice so friendly so eager to please. I love that the cheese goes over the toppings here, sets the pizza apart. I can’t say enough good things! The only thing I didn’t love was the pasta with meat sauce. I thought it fell flat. Let’s talk about the gelato… Oh my goodness the gelato… It is stupid good! The flavor options are amazing! I think my favorite was a salted Carmel. Great flavor great consistency. The prices here are all super reasonable for the quality of product. The location is great and has lots of parking. I spoke with the owner about the wine selection… He was very easy to talk to. I made a request and he assured me he would do everything he could to stock it for us during the summer… Who does that!!! Sooo nice! Westlake village is lucky to have this place. Will be back for sure!!! Also the outside seating is really cute with café string lights so during the spring and summer I would love to sit outside. The only thing holding me back from a 5 is that it was good, great even, but not knock my socks off.

Unlike any other pizza I’ve tried and quite difficult to compare to others, however I became a fan of Barone’s concept instantly! The crust was rather thin and crispy with a layer of cheese baked on top. Sort of like fresh brother’s idea, only much better. The square pieces were an interesting take but did not disappoint! I’ll be happy to return and try other flavors!

Had the pleasure of trying Barone’s for the first time at a Unilocal Elite Event. The food was delicious and the portions were very generous. Unfortunately, I’m currently on antibiotics so I couldn’t try the wine. But I did hear others commenting on how good it was! Too bad I missed out… I especially liked their salad, it was to die for. I could’ve eaten the whole bowl by myself if I hadn’t known that more food was coming! My second favorite was the Marguerite pizza. It was full of flavor and, again, I just couldn’t stop eating it. Another item to try at Barone’s is the salted caramel gelato. So good!

What a wonderful way to welcome in December! Many thanks to Brittany F and Chelsea P for putting together this grandioso event, as well as the owners for hosting us! When approaching Barone’s you will notice they have patio seating to your right, for those of you that are worried about the cold, not to worry as they provide heat lamps that will leave you nice and toasty. They also have seating out in the back which our table didn’t notice until we were leaving, so we missed seeing some of our Unilocal peeps. The wine flowed, Red or White… I had both, the flavors of both were crisp & sharp and left me feeling quite nice. We were treated to a delicious chopped salad, which was loaded with green olives, roma tomatoes, & garbanzo beans and tossed in a light dressing, it was delicious. Our first entrée was the Combination Pizza(we ended up getting this twice, not complaining it was good) the crust is thin and was loaded with a light layer of pizza sauce and had large pieces of sausage on it, very good. The second pizza was the BBQ chicken, this is definitely a sweet sauce so if you have aversions to sweetness you many opt for another pizza, however I will say that the chicken was moist and the the flavor profile was on point. Our third Entrée was the Sausage Bolognese, Penne pasta tossed in a sausage meat sauce… this was by far my favorite, I absolutely love pasta and I can be very picky but here’s what happened: I was stuffed to the gills and ready to cry Uncle, but when they brought our table another round of this pasta I couldn’t help but serve myself another helping. Glutton I am. For dessert… Salted Caramel Gelato & Vanilla Gelato. I’m all about Caramel, and baby this stuff was heaven. So needless to say Bravo to the wonderful food, add great friends to the mix and you’ve got yourself one hell of a great night.

This was the first time coming to this restaurant and it was amazing. The pasta Bolognese was delicious and full of flavor and you can’t go wrong with fresh pasta. The barbecue chicken pizza was one of my favorite pizzas and the combo pizza was also delicious. The margarita pizza was also full of flavor and very tasty. I love all the different type of toppings that you can choose from to put on your pizza and that makes it way more interesting. For dessert I had the salted caramel gelato mixed with dark chocolate gelato and my wife had the mint chocolate gelato and they were all delicious. I would definitely recommend coming to this restaurant and you will not be disappointed!

Had the pleasure of experiencing my first Unilocal Elite event here tonight… Overall I would have to say that I had a great experience. Free wine, free pizza, free salad, free pasta and free gelato… who wouldn’t have a good time?! ;) Restaurant has an awesome location off of the Lindero Canyon Road exit(right off of the 101 freeway). It’s adjacent to another great restaurant, Lure… so you have great options. So, with a Unilocal event… of course the service was on point(that’s a given), so let’s talk more importantly about the food and wine. House Salad w/House Salad: 5 stars. –fresh, fresh, Feee-Resssssh chopped romaine lettuce with cheery tomatoes, olives, cheese, peppercinis, and an amazing house dressing salad. BBQ Chicken Pizza: 3.5−4 stars. Can’t go wrong with BBQ sauce and cheese on a pizza, quite delicious although some may say the BBQ sauce is too sweet: just dabble some Tabasco on your pizza to counteract the sweet and, boom. Margarita Pasta: 4 stars. Noodles were cooked perfectly not too soggy and the sauce was perfectly saucy. I added just the right amount of Tabasco, icing on the cake. Gelato: 4 stars. Pumpkin, Mint Chip and Salted Caramel…1 scoop of each. Quite Delish, not too sweet and not too plain. I liked it when the gelato melted a little so that I can mix all the flavors together. The outdoor seating is nice because they have huge outdoor heaters, especially for those of you who are always cold. Great customer service and we will most likely return to use our 50% off elite member discount. Cheers fellow Unilocalsters*

I have mixed feelings about this place… For the price that we paid, the food was mediocre. We ordered a large pizza, half Hawaiian and half BBQ chicken. At first, I thought our order was wrong for the Hawaiian pizza because I didn’t see ANY pineapple or ham on the surface of the pizza. Before I complained, I started to dig around the cheese. At last, underneath the layer of baked on cheese, I found a few ham pieces and a few pineapple cubes. The pizza itself tasted too«doughy,» meaning there was a yeasty, alcoholy aftertaste from the dough. Turn off. We also ordered the lunch special; quarter chicken with one side. Chicken was nicely seasoned, and semi-moist inside. The twister fries were very good. I love different shaped potato things instead of the traditional string fries. Overall, not a good pizza joint, but kudos to them for having a variety of things on their menu!

Glad I made a return visit. Invited back by owner, Michael, I was a bit reluctant but willing. Michael greeted my date and I at the door. He was welcoming, warm, and appreciative of my constructive review. He took it to heart, and made changes to the prices, the maturity & level of the staff, and recipe of the mushroom pizza. We ordered another Wild Mushroom Pizza, a Shrimp-Pesto Pizza, Spaghetti with bolognese, and a large chopped salad. A good assortment for trial #2. 1. Wild Mushroom Pizza: Mushrooms now covered many on every piece. The crust was terrific, light, crisp, and properly risen before the oven. If that’s not all, it’s been adjusted the price down $ 3 from previous visit. Winner.(4.5 stars) 2. Shrimp-Pesto Pizza: a delicious creamy pesto with medium-size whole shrimp. Creamy? I say dreamy! Delicious, and same great crust. Winner x2.(4.5 stars) 3. Spaghetti with bolognese: nice thin spaghettini noodles(a hair bigger than anger hair and a lot less messy), with a delicious and bold sauce. Winner x3.(4.5 stars) 4. Large chopped salad: again, this was excellent. Lots of variety, and with a great dressing. Maybe a bit more dressing would be nice, be prepared to ask for a side of it. Winner x4.(4.5 stars) Do you see a theme here? Winner. It had me wondering thru the meal, «Is this the same place?» This was a near 5.0 star experience, but still recovering from an average first time. Nonetheless, this has potential to be great, and I wish Michael continued success. I’ll definitely be back now.
