I have lived close enough to this CVS to see it from my front porch since I was four years old(I’m in my twenties now) and even worked there for two years in my teens. Recently it seems management has changed, and every single experience I have in this store(excluding the pharmacy) has been awful. No matter who is working I always feel very unwelcome and uncomfortable and am left with a sour taste in my mouth. It’s gotten to the point where I will drive to the Schrock or State St. Location if I have coupons or extra bucks I want to use. If I didn’t have my prescriptions auto-filled here I don’t think I’d ever step foot in this store again. Go to another location, or better yet, go to the Walgreens on State.

First of all, I appreciate the location of this CVS more than anything, as it seems businesses struggle to stay open in this mini-strip on county line. They’re generally helpful and stock a smaller than normal selection of everyday items for a reasonable price. They’re not particularly kind to teenagers, especially in groups… But they put up with a lot of loitering as it is surrounded by neighborhoods and just down the street from a middle and high school.

Terrible experiences at the pharmacy here. DROPPINGOFF a prescription took 25 minutes. And then they couldn’t find it when I came to pick it up. Dropping off a script with the tech requires 2 skills: speaking to people and writing their info into a computer. The tech here could do neither. Her English was poor, meaning I had to say everything three times. And her computer skills were also poor, meaning that she had to enter everything several times. So, I ended up giving her every piece of information about six times(I had new insurance that needed to go into the computer). Picking up was no better an experience. The prescription for my wife was not in the lettered bin with our last name. The pharmacist looked and looked, and then went and refilled it. As we were leaving she found it, filed under my wife’s first name. No big deal, but annoying, as I’d given the tech my wife’s first and last name separately SIXTIMES when I dropped the prescription off. CVSCaremark(my prescription insurance) requires that I fill my prescriptions at a CVS, and this is the only one around. So unfortunately, I am stuck with this one.

Let me tell you, this pharmacy is wonderful. When you are on so many prescriptions that you have printed out copies for emergencies(because remembering everything would be chaotic), you need an organized, understanding pharmacy. This CVS location is a bit smaller than some, and isn’t 24/7, but like I said, I have had the best experience with their pharmacists. When one of my prescription discount cards hadn’t been activated yet, they waited patiently for that to happen. When my fiancé was going out of town for business, they contacted his insurance company and had the refill approved in no time. Now, I know you’re thinking«but isn’t this what they’re supposed to do?». Well, yes. But I’ve had some experience with some rather rude pharmacists who would rather just say«No» and get to filling their overflow of prescriptions. This small, hometown-feeling, pharmacy definitely puts an emphasis on customer service and care.
