Awesome place to eat, never had a bad meal here. I had the chicken vetrano last time I was there, it was unbelievable. Plus the fresh bread and oil is always a fantastic starter. We will be going back!

Best eggplant parmigiana hands down! Also the bread and olive oil that comes to the table is so good they should bottle it and sell it! Its liquid gold!!! Highly recommend!!!

We celebrated several of our family graduates at Vetrano’s on Sunday of the Labor Day holiday 2014 with a buffet dinner and could not have asked for, expected or received better quality food, service and professionalism at an abundantly fair and reasonable cost. We had 26 adults and 4 kids and their newish corridor on the far side of the restaurant accommodated us well. While it is a tight space to navigate with that many folks, we moved around easily and could visit with each other and table hop. We organized the food selections with the owner Pasquale who left his family/brand new baby to personally supervise our party and ensure we were happy. He listened to the food selections I was interested in providing, suggested some changes and knew just the right combinations and amount to provide(I over-ordered — which he told me — and I should have trusted him); if you’ve ever eaten there, you know the portions are plentiful and you can trust that there will be plenty for your party and no one will go home hungry! The most important thing is that his food is excellent and abundant and you and your guests will be talking about the quality of the food long after your party is over. We ordered wine by the bottle: white Zinfandel, sauv blanc and Pinot noir, some wine by the glass, draft and bottled beers, and a few drinks to order. We had one server, Jenn, who was so lovely, friendly, helpful and responsive and handled our needy group with great professionalism Here’s what we had: –a tray of antipasto Classico that was loaded with assorted cured meats, fresh cheeses, olives, peppers etc over greens, — a garden salad tray(which Pasquale told me I did not need but provided anyway becuz I asked for it and yes, you guessed it, it went untouched as he expected…), –chicken franchese which was deliciously moist and tender and the butter/wine/lemon sauce so good i used my spoon to scoop up the scrumptious sauce. Because we ate every single piece, Pasquale had his chefs prepare a bit more seeing that we all were enjoying it so thoroughly –rigatoni in vodka sauce that is so unbelievably delicious! The creamy pink sauce is velvety smooth, rich and so satisfying… So good in fact that our guests went back for more so often that there wasn’t one piece of pasta left in the tray! — sausage and peppers and potatoes… The meat is from a local shop and is just that– all meat, no gristle – and is soft and tender and spiced perfectly with just a bit of a kick. The potatoes had marinated in the sauce and soaked up all the delicious flavors yielding yummy soft lumps of flavor that were a great texture compliment to the dish. If you could bring home leftovers it would be amazing over a bowl of pasta or sandwich roll. — «for the kids», a tray of Pasta with pomodoro sauce… Thick with fresh tasting tomato bits and accented with fresh herbs it was light and uncomplicated. Again Pasquale advised that I wouldn’t need this and he was right(give me more of that vodka sauce!!) but we managed to eat most of it just the same. –3 pizzas: 2 grandma and 1 cheese. More than we needed because I asked for the pasta pomodoro but we all fought over who got to bring home the uneaten grandma pizza. We had coffee afterwards served at table. Criticism: Arranging the date and details of the party was difficult. I went to the restaurant twice and called several times over 3 weeks. I was told repeatedly by several people that i had to speak to the hostess. She could not finalize my plans and in fact gave me wrong information which I didn’t know until I insisted on speaking to the restaurant manager. He told me he had to in turn speak to the owner who called me back several days later after I called again. Once I got to speak to the owner he informed me that in a group situation he determines a price per person depending on what I want to serve and to how many. He also told me they would not normally have accepted a party of my size on a holiday weekend but because my reservation had been accepted by his staff and I had already invited all of my attendees, he honored the reservation. I was not provided an agenda nor was I sure exactly what food I’d be served but the owner/Pasquale encouraged me to trust him… he would make sure it would work out… So even tho I wasn’t sure exactly what I would find when I arrived in terms of set up and flow of things, I took a leap of faith. It was all fine in the end but the anxiety of not knowing was unnecessary.

My fiancé and I have always gone here after a long day at the beach. This year we decided to drive to westerly and have lunch. We walked into the restaurant and the cook told us to choose our own seat. We sat down and the waitress came over to ask us what we’d like to drink We ordered sangria and a glass of water. I’m unsure if the water is tap water –it tasted kind of funny. Sangria on the other hand was just«ok». The base red wine that was used was very bitter. I’m not exactly sure what fruit was in the sangria, nothing that I thought was edible. We then ordered chowder and salad with chicken. The soup was delicious and the chicken seasoned for the salad was very delicious. Our bill came to $ 70 without tip. For what we ordered I think it was a bit too much.(Just my opinion)

We’ve summered in the area for many years and I’d always ask my grandfather, «Why aren’t there any good Italian restaurants like in Providence?» He’d reply it was because all the locals cooked at home! Finally, here is an amazing Italian restaurant with old world taste and selection. You want authentic Sicilian or NY style slice? Come here. You can tell it’s made from the best ingredients. The service is excellent as well. If only they’d open one near Providence. All the miserable, tasteless chains like Pizza Hut would go right out of business. Support your locals people, you’ll get the best meals that way.

I come here every time I’m in Rhode Island, the food is great. The service the last time I went was horrible. We went on a busy short staffed Saturday which was understandable and okay. However one of the servers(not ours) was horribly rude to the bus boy Tom. We only know his name because she was complaining so loudly. The poor guy didn’t do anything wrong and was working so hard yet she kept criticizing him. Her name was Kate and she made me feel so uncomfortable in there. She kept talking about she needs to have a training day to retrain the bus boys because they don’t know what they’re doing. Save that complaining for the back and stop puffing your cheeks when the kid try’s to explain what happened. Keep up the good work Tom.

Ill come here whenever I want a slice of pizza, they give huge slices so save your appetite. The thing preventing the fifth star here is the grease. Just a little too greasy for my liking.

Service was very good. Food was EXCELLENT! My wife and I agreed that it was the best Italian food we’ve had at a restaurant in a long, long time. Usually, when one gets pasta with an entrée, the sauce sucks, not at Vetrano’s. We highly recommend this restaurant.

Tonight after we were done at the beach I decided to ask some of the local people if there were any good Italian restaurants around the area that weren’t too pricey but had good food. Name that came up was Vetrano’s Italian restaurant. We plugged in the coordinates and were on our way. When we arrived I looked at the outside and wasn’t impressed at all, but when we went in that was another story! The outside doesn’t do the inside justice that’s all I can say. We were seated very quickly and had a waitress right away. Like everyone says the bread is «amazing» same with the dipping sauce. The salad and soup came quickly also. Our dinner was spaced nicely in between. Three of us had chicken parmigiana and the size of the meat was great. Rest of the family enjoyed their meal too. Needless to say we were full, so no room for dessert. Everything all in all it was a great experience. Thanks from travelers from New York who were very full and happy when we left!

Party of 9, we’ve been sitting here for 20 minutes and no one still hasn’t come to the table. Not even to take drink orders. Finally a waiter came over after 25 minutes and took our order. Waitress was very friendly tho and cute and apologized for the bad service(confusion with waitresses? Idk) Ordered waters and didn’t get them served until 10 minutes later. Besides the awful service our waitress was great and deeply apologized for the delayed service. I had the contandina(pasta with squash, zucchini, broccoli, carrots in a garlic olive oil). So so so good, my only regret was ordering it with wheat pasta because I’m on a diet but with regular pasta I bet it’d be 10x better. The rest of the family got pene ala vodka(so good, definitely the dish I recommend the most), Alfredo, grilled chicken salad, pasta with sauce, and salmon special(which my ad enjoyed). No one complained about their meals and they all looked delicious. I would recommend this place, just wish they gave better service so I could rate this place 5 stars. ALSO, the bread and garlic they bring out before dinner… TODIEFOR.

The food is classic Italian and delicious. I had an arugula salad with cranberries, pine nuts and gorgonzola that was out of this world. It was drizzled with a balsamic vinaigrette reduction. Heaven! My only complaint would be the deafening noise level during times when it is crowded. Of course, there is always take-out.

My friend and I were here yesterday. Best Margherita pizza we have ever had. Perfect. The meatball/sausage appetizer was very good, love the red sauce. Good bread and oil with garlic. The only thing I did not love the garlic salad dressing on my salad. Too spicy, like biting into a raw garlic clove. Service was friendly.

Loved the pizza, loved the service! They give you a slice while you wait. Their soup was awesome and the bread at the table was absolutely delicious! It’s pretty darn good!

This is the best Italian restaurant in all of New England. Everything on the menu is fantastic. If you want some REALNYC pizza it’s the only place you will find it(except for NYC). Try this place once and you will be back again and again.

Stopped in for dinner with my hubby. We received prompt friendly service. All staff was great. The food was delicious. Free focaccia bread with dipping oil and garlic. Yum. We both had creamy bacon potato soup –special. I had chicken scampi special and hubby had Borbone-pasta dish with local sausage. Waitress informed is they use as much farm to table as possible. It tasted it too. Portions were large and we got house salad included with meals. Plenty of food to take home. Only 2 minor gripes if I had to say something … That for the pricing they should have fresh grated Parmesan cheese not the shaker kind that they set at the table. Also, again minor item, would prefer if salad wasn’t served in plastic bowl. But the croutons were fantastic. Excellent food and service. Would go again and again.

Vetrano’s is an excellent option for Italian food! I recommend the eggplant parmigiana, but the pizza is tasty too. The bar area is a cool local to hang out for a couple drinks as well. If you’re a fan of futbol, they usually have a game or two on. This restaurant also has several gluten free options!

The food is very good and consistent. They renovated a while ago and is is very nice inside with a huge bar. The only downside is the slow service. Every time I called in to pick up and order, I would have to wait an extra 20 minutes on top of the time that they told be it would be ready by, and they were just salads! Dine in service is also very slow.

We stopped for lunch while running Christmas errands. Very good. We all had different Parmesan grinders; chicken, meatball and sausage. All were delicious. The bread was outstanding. The service was spot on perfect. My only knock was the pasta I fajole was a bit too under seasoned. A very minor Knick. We’ll certainly be back.

This is one of my top«go-too» pizza restaurants. Great pizza and clam chowder! It’s consistant, fair priced, and the staff is usually great. I haven’t been since the new renovations and bar we’re added, but will soon… Hats off to a great local pizza restaurant all should go to!

Called in my take out order for pizzas and 20 minutes they were set to go. The crust is thin and crispy, the sauce makes your mouth water! Try«Grandmas» pizza but you can’t go wrong with any selection. Be sure to get there a little early so you can enjoy your complimentary slice!
