Was at the bar at this establishment. Zach was handling my section. By the time our drinks were at half full, he was on top of our next ones. Food was great. Perfect spot if your are on your way to the beach or looking to catch a game on tv. Will definitely be back.

Just too bar-foodie and blah for the options in the area. Not anything specific stands out here.

Came here for a bridal shower and was impressed with the Haversham. Despite the pouring rain outside, it was warm and cozy inside. We had one of the smaller rooms since I think there were only 20 of us. The brunch buffet was delicious. Loved the French toast especially. The mimosas were strong and they kept them flowing. Service was very attentive and quick. One server especially was fantastic(wish I got his name!!) but all I can say is my whole table was smitten with him, especially my aunt lol. It’s a shame the weather didn’t cooperate because the grounds looked beautiful. Would’ve been nice for pictures.

I was recommended to this restaurant by my realtor and had a great experience the first time and decided to take my friends who were visiting from out of town here. Horrible choice. We placed our drinks and app in and it came in a timely manner. However we placed our entrees at the same time and waited an hour and a half. It seems as if there was only one waitress in the very busy bar/dining area we were in. She was very attentive to the table next to us but never asked how our app was, if we needed refills or to take away our plates. After waiting for over an hour I finally waved her down and asked if we could just get the check for what we had and without hesitation she just says are you sure? When she finally did come over she said oh your foods not out yet? If she had come over at least once she would have noticed. Finally our food came out and we decided to just stay because we were starving. John the nice waiter I had last time seemed more apologetic about the long wait more so than our waitress and the man who I’m assuming was the manager. The food wasn’t cooked to our specifications eg: medium well burger was more like rare medium. The excuse seemed to be there was a rather large party they had in the other dining area which I don’t believe is a reason to not focus on other diners. I was so embarrassed for my guests I kept apologizing and I work in customer service/the public I understand being understaffed etc things happen but even if the waitress had just came over and checked in once and awhile would’ve at least made us feel a little better. It’s a shame because we did spend a lot of money and it’s very close to my new home but I will not be going back. My recommendation is to better train the staff with customer service and to realize these days every patron could leave a review you should want everyone to have an amazing experience.

Great atmosphere and yummy food. My boyfriend and I like to stop for a drink or food. It’s good for both!

Great for groups, can be a little noisy– the rooms kind of echo in the main eating area– they have a lot of TVs for sports so people get pretty rowdy during games. I have no idea whenever sports are and was slightly disappointed when I went and it was loud. Oh well! Sports are loud and that’s my bad. Still delicious!

This review is a bit late as we were there last summer before a show at Theatre by the Sea. Do not be fooled by the exterior; the building and grounds are lovely, but the food is your basic bar food. We were greeted at the door by a middle-aged guy. It seemed like he was the captain, but he was doing nothing but welcoming patrons, al la Walmart. There was a bevy of young, attractive, WASPish servers and two maître d’s but, again, it’s deceptive because the number of staff did not translate to good service. Apparently nobody trains or directs the kids. We sat in the front room. Experience was not improved by the fact that they let smokers do their thing on the porch with the front door open. They might as well have been smoking at our table. The waitress who took our order was not the person who brought the food, so after the initial contact, that was about the last we saw of her. We sat with empty drinks for a long time. The front room is shaped like an «L» and the people in the back of the L had even less attentive service than we did. So I ordered prime rib«rare» and it arrived very well done. The server curtly informed me, «That’s all we have.»(I suppose I should be glad that dog poop on toast wasn’t all they had!) I sent it back and now my wife is steaming because she has to eat by herself or watch her dinner get cold. She needed a condiment, but no one checked on us, nor could we catch an eye. The servers are there to drop off the food, not ask if you need anything else. We had watched the table next to us distressing over the same problem of not getting condiments. Keep in mind both tables were in plain view and less than 20 feet from the maître d’ station with its two, do-nothing lovelies. So I did not get my prime rib — had chicken mac & cheese, which was actually pretty good, though I had to wolf it down or be late for the show, despite the fact that we arrived with what should have been plenty of time for a leisurely meal.

Great location! Beautiful place/atmosphere! Wonderful staff! I loved the homemade chips! Your food is delicious and worth the wait! Passing through from Missouri and continuing on to other states, I’m glad I stopped here!

I’ve posted before with pix. Just to say this time that once again, never disappointed here. Five of us this past Saturday sat outside the entrance surrounded by flowers and it was perfect. We all liked what we had. Always a great portion at a reasonable price. The fish and chips, the grilled veggie wrap the red, white and blue 8 oz. burger; and two other dishes, all outstanding! Our waiter was Jonathan who was also very personable and also very funny. And despite his recent knee surgery, did a great job up and down the stairs. BTW, he takes great photos. Don’t hesitate to ask him. Always here and look forward to more great dining experiences.

This restaurant would be ok… BUT the manager is awful!!! He must be related to the owners, because no one else would put up with his crap. He sits EATING& drinking… and not leading his staff. His bad attitude has rubbed off on the entire staff. There are so many many wonderful places to eat in the area… don’t waste your time and money here!!!

The food was very good. The service was lacking! Sekar was our server and was less than impressed with us. He was constantly reaching over us, ignoring our table or talking to us while his back was actually turned. We decided to pass on dessert because he was taking too long.

As a local decided to go out for a quick drink with a friend. Grabbed a couple of seats at the bar. Bartenders were attentive & friendly. We shared nachos and enjoyed a couple of drinks. The atmosphere was very pleasing. The food was quite good. The service was terrific. I’ll return again soon. What a great find!

I met my cousin here for a birthday dinner before the dinner rush. The night started off a little poorly as I was waiting for her at what I guess is the back door for half an hour and she was waiting at the front door. Since they seat from both areas I didn’t realize I was in the wrong place and the waitstaff never clued us in that hey there is a lady also waiting for someone at their other entrance. This did give me time to take in the ambiance. The atmosphere in the backroom is an odd mix of dark Pub/sportsbar(SOMANYTVS! Like inches away from each other) and quaint café with high seating by windows that look over the green scenery. The front room area is more well light and bright from the sun and windows but the tables are close enough together that I did have a waitresses butt brush but against our table as she tried to get by with another tables order. It also meant that when a noisier family was seated near us we could have participated in every conversation. That said… the food was freaking fantastic. My swordfish was buttery and coleslaw tasty and fresh. My onion rings delicious and some of the best I’ve had. The prices were pretty reasonable and the service pretty on top of it despite not clueing us in on each others presence earlier. I will say that my cousin got a steak and some fixings and they need to do something with their plating. I think if they made the plates smaller it might help or add some garnish? It looks like little islands of food on a large expanse of plate. This was especially bad on my cousins dish. I definitely want to go here again and try other dishes… so minus some eccentricities a definite recommend.

Nice looking place and casual atmosphere. We went there for lunch. I had the lobster roll and I really liked it. Their homemade chips are really great. A lot of tvs. A lot. The service was… awkward. There weren’t many people there yet they squeezed those of who were there into one corner making it hard to get in and out. There were plenty of people working there but our food took a while to arrive and while we did get asked if we wanted drink refills, we weren’t asked at the right time when we needed it.

been there couple of times, can’t say i’m a fan per se, but they do have some solid food offerings. lobster roll was good last time i had it(tho hub complained this time that his didn’t have much meat), clam a la sham(pasta w/clams) was great(a bit salty at the end, and quite heavy thanks to the cream butter sauce, but the clams were cooked well!), steak looked good. i must add, too, the pasta had some presentation! not only the clams where placed around the plate(that’s easy), but the pasta was twisted and packed with care, not just loosely scattered on. now that’s not something you see every day — takes someone who cares about what he/she brings out of his/her kitchen to attend to details like this. on the other hand, the calamari, while cooked well, was served with pickled peppers and marinara sauce — if i wanted pasta sauce i’d order the pasta, you know. so that’s a small minus. service was decent both times, though i still get that semi-snooty vibe esp from the hostesses. they were actually friendly, don’t get me wrong, but there’s just this«country club» feel to their welcome. maybe the clientele also makes us stand out… but i digressed. back to our server, the second time we dined with people with food allergies, and our waitress handled it well and nobody got sick afterwards so kudos for that. they also didn’t have a surcharge for the gluten-free bun, which is also a plus. anyways…there’s a bar with tv toward the center of the establishment, making it more casual than it appears to be. one major gripe: no baby changing table in the bathroom! no one ever ate here with a young child? 99 has a bar too, and you bet they are equipped with a Koala Care, so don’t even try to tell me i shouldn’t expect it from a place that appears higher-end than that. and they obviously host«partys»(as seen on their sign out front. LOL) and weddings… no guest ever came with young children that could use a proper changing table instead of the marble between two sinks? very interesting… all things considered, 3.5 stars. Unilocal really should let us do half stars bc I feel stingy concluding with a 3. still not entirely a fan, but i’ll give them a 4 since compliments outweighed the complaints.

What a great place. On a recent Friday visit with a party of 12, we soon found out why this place is a local hot spot. If you can’t find a beer or wine to choose from you aren’t a fan of either. We started our dinners off with incredible soups(chowder, chili, and the soup of the day steak tip vegetable). Several at our table chose to go with salads ranging from garden to mini Cesar and each was a hit. Our meals ranged from chicken parmesan to sword fish. The meals were served as ordered, hot, and in a timely manner. For this we applaud our server. The only reason I didn’t give it five stars is because the place was freezing cold on a cool night. The air conditioning was working overtime. Several at our table and other tables had the same reaction, wow its cold in here. With that said come one come all to this local hot spot. Reservations on the weekends are only accepted that day starting at 11:00.

The food in the tavern is outstanding. The event facilities are wonderful. However the food and cooking for a wedding I just attended was very bland and plain. It left a lot to be desired. Good thing we ate before we went. Maybe it was just a bad day in the kitchen?

There is no need to offer another review. You should know by now that this is a good place to eat or drink. It is casual and as bit noisy, but the beer and wine selection is good, and the food is excellent I highly recommend the clams a la sham and lobster mac and cheese. Delicious!

No, just no. I went for the first time for my birthday two weeks ago as I’ve heard great things. I was so disappointed. The atmosphere isn’t bad, my mother complained about it being loud but that didn’t bother me at all, I actually like a loud restaurant. It’s strange though because the room we were in was small but really loud, either way it was OK for me but not my mom. Our waiter Sekar was more focused on a baseball game that was on at the time than he was about our table. He spent the majority of the time with his back to us in the other room watching the TV. My husband ordered the swordfish, it was a extremely thin piece of fish, maybe ¼ of an inch thick and maybe about 4 inches in diameter. A swordfish steak should be thick, at least ½ inch, I mean come on, for the price it’s seriously robbery serving that miniscule piece. They should be ashamed. My mother ordered a shrimp dish that specifically stated it came with six(6) jumbo shrimp, her meal showed up with four. She said something to me about it and I argued that she must have read the menu wrong; we asked to see the menu and sure enough it said six. We asked Sekar about it and he said«oh well, it usually comes with size 10 shrimp these are 12’s» Huh? Why the heck wasn’t that explained while she ordered. Not satisfied with that explanation we asked for the manager, he had the same story and said that our waiter should have informed us. No apology from him as he shrugged us off. I’m sorry but if your menu says six jumbo shrimp and you serve four jumbo shrimp(slightly larger) and someone complains, you should just honor what your menu says or at least offer a free drink. Neither happened. My meal was just OK as was my sisters, nothing special, could have gotten the same at Olive Garden. This place is overpriced also, four people, couple of drinks each and the bill was over $ 270 and not worth a penny of it. Spare yourself the bad service, over priced, small portioned, mediocre food and drinks. Go elsewhere.
