The customer service is horrible! The owner is disgusting! They serve the same drink in plastic cups then when u complain they argue with you but want to charge top dollar. I’ve been coming here for several Summer’s but will never be back! Low class trash!!!

My boyfriend and I came here for lunch and thank god we did cause it was awesome !!! I ordered the lobster ravioli and he ordered the lobster roll. A little too much sauce on the ravioli but was delicious. The lobster roll and fries were perfect. Can not wait to go back next year when we visit again!!!

Love the andrea! Always a great time here. My family and I have been coming here for years during each summer. The staff is excellent — all very friendly(especially carli, jaime, Leslie). The food is delicious as well. Great spot for some good seafood. They also have really good burgers and sandwiches. Kid friendly — they have chicken fingers, fries, grilled cheese, hot dogs. The seating is a great set up. You can either be under their tent near the bar and look out onto the beach or sit outside in the sun near their beautiful fireplace. The live music is great– very upbeat atmosphere! I will be back! Great job Andrea

This is a wonder way to start the New Year watching the annual Penguin Plunge New Year’s Day hosted by the Andrea Bar. Participants can register on line or in person the day of the event for $ 20/person. There is a warm staging area for Plungers leading up to the 12 Noon sharp dip and for those inclined the bar is open for non participants. There is ample sitting room outside near the stone fireplace or around a number of gas heat lamps in enclosed areas. The event is attracting ever increasing numbers so arriving there early is a good idea.

I ate at the Andrea last night. The menu was limited being it was only open for a late off season event. The food was delicious and well prepared. But the highlight of the experience was the Staff. The are the nicest people you could ever want to serve you. I give them 5 stars. The only drawback was that it was pricey for what you get.

Wow — where do I start… went into the Andrea for dinner with my boyfriend at around 6:15 on Labor Day. Although it was a holiday, it was clear that the restaurant had passed its dinner rush hour because more people were leaving than they were sitting. Perhaps less than 40 people in the restaurant, with ½ at the bar. Took our waiter, Paul, at least 10 minutes or so to get to our table. Ordered our drinks, got them after another 10 minutes or so. Ordered dinner — fried fish sandwich & buffalo chicken tacos. Looking around, we start to realize that the few tables who sat after us had already received our meals — including a table of 6! I’ve worked as a server for 5+ years, so I know when something just isn’t right at a restaurant & this was the case here. I caught eyes across the tent with Paul, who distinctly made the«ohSH*T» face and walked right over to the portal, then bee lined into the back of the restaurant into the kitchen. He walks by and says«your food will be up any minute…» 15 minutes or so pass and our food is finally served. Quite frankly, at this point, I am pissed. And hungry. I tell Paul how absurd this is, so I ask to see the manager. He says okay, and disappears. I flag down the host and ask for the manager again. He returns after a few minutes and says the manager is busy in the kitchen, but he can probably help, what’s the problem? I firmly say no, I need to see the manager. She emerges after a few moments(heads to the wrong table) and comes up to ours. I start to explain what has gone on — and she cuts me off and offers to take the drinks off our tab. A nice offer, but, dang lady! At least let me voice my concerns and frustrations to you! We start eating. Realize no ketchup is at our table, and Paul is attending to every table but ours. Luckily there was a bottle on a table nearby, so we snagged it. Paul returns to ask how the food is as we have about ¼ of our meal left to finish. Food was beyond mediocre. Fish was good and hot, but the fries were a sad potato’s cry for help. The buffalo chicken tacos were disproportionate and were CLEARLY out of a frozen box. Now — the above issues are frustrating, especially with a hungry stomach, but what happened next really made things worse. We request our check. I see Paul check one table, and then get caught in conversation at another. He was headed to a 3rd when I said something out loud to my boyfriend about it. The host must have heard me because he whispered in Paul’s ear. Paul looked directly at us and said«oh-I know.» Then headed to the portal. He dropped our check off, and I said something to him about how disappointing the experience was as a whole. He says a quick apology, and I respond saying that it’s really just unacceptable. He responded with a remark about how busy and understaffed they were. I said«it really wasn’t that busy man, and I’ve served before. I know being understaffed isn’t your fault, but it also isn’t mine and I *KNOW* you forgot our order.» He denies it, to which I respond and tell him how I saw his oh sh*t face and watched him walk to the portal, enter it and head right to the kitchen. He responded with(and I quote) «well, what do you want me to say??? I don’t know! What was I supposed to do about it? We were busy!» You NEVER, EVER want to argue with the customer, especially when they have plenty of grounds on which to be upset. By the time we left, it was a little after 8PM… nearly 2 hours for 2 people to have drinks and a sandwich and an order of tacos… Ridiculous… Although the view, yes, was nice, I will never be back for dinner, and will avoid going there for drinks SIMPLY because of Paul’s response. Inexcusable & despicable.

A-mazing seared scallops!!! I am super picky when it comes to seafood and this was tops. Sat right on the water watching the waves. Great for kids too. Decent menu selection for kids and chic tenders were served in a frisbee. That went over big with my boys. Def touristy but really not over priced. We will be back!

I will never return to the Andrea after the horrible customer service that I experienced there. The manager has the most unbelievably horrible attitude. Not only did the food take forever to come out but when it did come out it was cold and inedible. The manger came over to «smooth things over» but a she did was make everyone at the table angry. This woman was terrible and should no longer be employed in the restaurant business. No thank you, I will not be back.

The Andrea is one of my favorite places in Misquamicut and I always need to stop by a couple times when I’m in town. First — I’m obsessed with their food. The Mac & Cheese is AMAZING. They don’t brag about it nearly enough. The sandwiches are stacked and the fries are crispy. The salads are big and bountiful. I’ve been with groups of up to 12 people and never heard anyone say their food was anything but amazing. Even with a group of 12 on a beautiful Saturday afternoon, the wait for the table was minimal. The views of the water are great. The second thing I love about the Andrea is the night life. Yea, sometimes it’s dead but sometimes it’s super fun and I feel like it draws in a slightly classier night time crowd than Paddy’s does. Cant wait to go back!

This was a great place to relax and eat some really good fish tacos. The service was great… however, I get the feeling that the managers/owners don’t really know what they want to do with the place. At noon, they had hip hop music but their clientele was older people. Anyhow, don;t expect a lot but the food was really good and the service for a beach place, was great and friendly.

We were looking to try something different we never venture to misquamicutt but decided we wanted bar food with a view so venture out with out 4 kids. We are outside as it was a nice day. Pros: great service even on the deck, nice view, they keep the seagulls out with string overhead very smart, Sweet and spicy wings great, tuna tacos awesome and Cobb salad special good. Cons: pay 10 for parking but get a $ 5 coupon, waitress had no idea about the beers, I imagine it can get rowdy in the summer, a little pricy overall I would definitely go back and the kids liked it. Glad we went after all these years.

Ugh, the Andrea is now just the worst since the hotel was knocked down due to the storm. The food is different, no more wonderful breakfast buffet on the water, and the inside tent smells like pool. I wish they would rebuild the hotel brick by brick and bring the old Andrea back. We would go to The Andrea because it was close and the fact that Paddy’s is garbage but now we just stay at our cottage every weekend. Also, please bring Keno back!

Made a last minute decision to try. Got there 6 minutes before closing on Monday night of Memorial Day weekend. Place was almost empty and staff must have been exhausted.. . But they sat the 4 of us. Did not rush us and made us feel welcome. Food and drinks were great… linguine & clams, fish sand, chicken club, salad… everything FRESH! Hats off to EMILIA … She’s a great host and bartender! Also learned what a Pain Killer, STRONG and Fireball are! Yum!.

Ok view but mediocre food and service. The dining room was just about empty but we waited quite awhile for a server. My friend finally went to go look for someone. The server we got was nice, as were the men working in the dining room. One of them moved one of the heating structures closer to our table when we mentioned it was cold. The food — The dressings are a bit off tasting, both the ranch and the caesar. Buffalo wings were ok but the service is better at 84 Tavern where they give you napkins, plates, and wet wipes. I asked our server what kind of beer the Blue Paw was and she just said she didn’t know. Ok then. Well I don’t really see a reason to return. I prefer the setup at Paddys and there are better restaurants in the area.

The Andrea is in the perfect location to enjoy food, drinks, and fun on the beach. The restaurant is right on the water and has perfect views of the ocean. I believe there is an inside seating area, although I didn’t see it, but the deck is packed with tables. The atmosphere was perfect for the beach and it was laid back, relaxed, and casual. We went with a party of 12 on a Sunday and the table was ready and waiting when we got there. I’m surprised they even agreed to it, seeing as it was incredibly crowded, but they were gracious and welcoming nonetheless. When we sat down, drinks were ordered and we were informed that there was a bit of a wait for food that day, as another large party had just ordered. Its always nice to be told up front what to expect and I appreciated the honesty. Drinks came out in waves, which was fine. I ordered a margarita, which I was less than impressed with and thought had far too much sweet & sour mix. My sister ordered a pain killer and it was to die for. Pineappley, coconuty, and perfect, basically. They have lots of cocktails to choose from and I’m sure I would have tried more if I wasn’t hooked on the pain killer. The menu is typically beach fare: sandwiches, salads, seafood etc. A few in our party ordered appetizers and they came out in a timely fashion. The crab cake was delicious, as was the shrimp cocktail. I think someone ordered asparagus fries as well, which seems to be a trend. Flash frying vegetables… so tasty! For our main meals, we ran the gamut from fish n chips(massive portion), fish sandwich, blackened shrimp tacos, veggie burgers etc. Everyone was satisfied with their meal and we didn’t have to wait terribly long for them in the end. Because the expectation was set at the beginning of the meal and they more than met expectations, we were a happy group. Well done to the wait staff and cook staff at The Andrea. They can certainly handle a lot at once. I can’t wait to return to Misquamicut and have another drink!

It’s beach season! And, while I’m usually found on my local beach because it’s so convenient… I happened to be up in Groton this past weekend. Our initial plans for Sunday were to just lay out at Misqumicut and relax. We got so aggravated with the parking situation up there, that we headed straight to the Andrea instead. Am I glad we did. This place used to be two stories… it was completely destroyed during Sandy. However, it seems like it’s being built back even better. There is an indoor bar, an outdoor(covered!) bar and a outdoor, uncovered seating area where live music is played. There were some dudes playing Caribbean style music all day… and that was perfect. Drinks are cheap and strong and the atmosphere is friendly. We ended up making friends with some AWESOME locals/regulars and not even heading down to the beach… which was okay, because they have a little patch of sand with beach chairs, not covered, right behind the bar. I can thank that for my sun poisoning. I also sampled the food as well… lobster and asparagus fries. Both were delish and fresh – you can’t ask for much more in either of those foods! Definitely a great place to spend a gorgeous, summer day.

It’s not completely rebuilt & I don’t know what the plans are for the hotel but the Andrea is back & it’s finally in 2013. I used to frequent the Andrea pre-Sandy & liked its charm. Although they did some theme nights, the place always seemed stuck in a time warp. The interior was very outdated but worked for a beach bar. The music was just so bad but worked. The crowd was always a mix of whiskey tango(local & imported) plus townies & various miscreants. I loved it then & they only improved it. My first trip of Summer2k13 I was blown away. I walked in & there was an actual DJ playing music from today. They were even playing Daft Punk something I would never imagine at the old Andrea. There’s 2 outdoor areas: one I didn’t check out by the old original fireplace & a tented area that reminds me of the 2Pac/Dre ‘California Love’ video. Yes, there’s fire. Although I noticed a few faces from my previous escapades there it was more of a younger crowd, definitely a mix of townies & vacationers. There was even a limited selection of canned craft beer. Of course there was Narragansett(&Grey Sail) plus I’m pretty sure they had some Oskar Blues which I haven’t seen in a bar before especially one like the Andrea. I can’t stress how modern & updated the Andrea is now especially when compared to it’s previous incarnation. It’s definitely not like anything else in Westerly. I haven’t had any of the food here or know anything about the hotel. I’d go back & I’m actually looking forward to it which is not typical of most bars in the area.
