Chicken Delight

Chicken delight has good wings but they never seem to be in stock. I’ve tried 4 separate times within the past 2 months and they are always out. You guys serve chicken. This should not be an issue.

Very good food but have been waited over an hour and a half for delivery next time going to chicken place on Levittown parkway call to ask when the food was coming got a nasty attitude never again

Great Service Great Chicken and sauces are great hoping they bring more variations of styles of chicken but it is good !

Located on the cusp of Westbury and White Castle, Chicken Delight sends out the fragrance of delicious fried chicken to all who pass by. Today was my day to get a fix and visited CD… my first time there. Passed a million times but never took the time to stop. Although the area could be construed as sketchy, the place has been there 50 + years and is a worthwhile stop if in the area. I ordered lunch and got a bucket of 8 dark meat pieces and a small mashed potatoes with gravy and a soda. The chicken is prepared fresh, never frozen and its deep fried not broasted under pressure like the Colonel. Chicken was juicy, crisp and delightful… I knocked off all 8 pieces! Even if I dont bring the family here to eat, I will defenitly take out and bring these good fixins home for us to enjoy.

This is the real deal southern fried chicken. It’s crispy on the outside juicy on the inside… yummy deliciousness!!! They just redid the dining area, it’s clean and pleasant. Food service is quick.
Less expensive than KFC. $ 23 will get you 12 pics of chicken, and 2 family sized sides.

When we first moved to Westbury in 1964/​65, the store was on Post & Lenox. We always ordered from them. Either pick-​up or delivery. I remember cardboard plates stapled together and blueberry muffins. Excellent. The food is STILL excellent in 2015.
I just saw in The Westbury Times that they’re celebrating 50 years. That’s a wonderful thing. It’s a family-​owned business – the Madonnas. I remember coming in one evening and (I guess the Grandmother who used to sit and take orders at the phone) said to me, «You have a beautiful voice. I sat near you in church.» Who would expect that?!
There’s a newspaper clipping on the wall about a Madonna doing a bicycle ride. Lots of family memorabilia.
But enough about that… the food is fantastic. They pay attention to what the public would like and add things like grilled burgers, ethnic dishes and sides.
But my favorite thing I order everytime I come in is the Rib Snack with extra BBQ sauce.
You can’t go wrong here. And as they used to say, «Don’t cook tonight, call Chicken Delight» from Westbury. It’s the bomb!

The chicken was amazing! Hot, fresh and crispy. Had the mac and cheese as well which tasted a little bland. Nothing a little salt and pepper couldn’t fix. Will definitely be going here again.

Looking for good fried chicken on Long Island? Well look no further cause you found the absolute best fried chicken around. I’ve been coming here for years for take out and my wife’s family has been coming here even longer.
It doesn’t look like much from the outside, hell, even from the inside, but don’t let that sway your decision to eat here or grab some takeout. The chicken is fried perfectly, crisp and delicious. All of the sides are amazing — fries are yummy, cole slaw (home made by the way) is great and the corn bread (also home made) is heavenly.
This is a family business that has been passed down from farther to his two children. You will almost always see one of them there and they are always super nice. Don’t let the few negative reviews here influence you, if you want good fried chicken, don’t cook tonight, call chicken delight!

I’m sorry to say this place is not that good.
Has been their for years but just keeps going down in flavor and quality.
Bbq sauce is the best thing they offer (which is sad)!
I’ve only had their chicken over the years. Nothing else they offer really has caught my eyes.

I first went to Chicken Delight when it opened in Manhattan on Second Avenue between 73 – 72 Street in the 1960’s. It was a great place and the jingle on TV was so much fun!
I went to this Chicken Delight and it did not disappoint, brought right back to my childhood and it was a wonderful memory, great fried chicken, tasty fries, friendly service and had a great chat with the owner! DON’T COOK TONIGHT CALL CHICKEN DELIGHT ! ! !

Chicken Delight is definitely my favorite fried chicken (when I’m not at Harolds in Chicago.) Not that I’m comparing since nothing is like Harold’s Fried Chicken. I really like the team that Jim (the owner) has assembled here. You walk in and get a hello, how may I help you without standing around for five minutes. Even when their busy, you’re immediately acknowledged.
They move so much chicken that’s it’s always freshly cooked, perfectly… Golden brown and not greasy, crispy (very important) and well cooked tender meat.
Fries are also cooked well and are tasty. The restaurant is definitely set up for a good amount of people to dine in and there is also enough room to wait (not that I have ever had to wait more than a couple of minutes) for take-​out.
I remember when there was a Chicken Delight on every corner, but alias they have all turned into Sushi or Starbucks.
The pricing is extremely fair and I definitely recommend this location if your looking for an easy lunch or dinner and don’t feel like cooking and are looking for «the crunch.»

Last time I was here was the first since probably 40 years or so. I was afraid it could never be as good as I remembered from childhood. But it was. I loved it and so did my whole family for their first experience of chicken delight. Really nice family place and excellent food. So glad some things that are good never change.

Broccoli & Cheese Pop-​ums and a Grilled Chicken Sandwich! This place has great chicken and it is always my go to choice when I don’t feel like cooking dinner! The kids love the mozzarella sticks. You really can’t beat the prices on the chicken, especially when ordering for a large bunch. Thank goodness for Chicken Delight!

Delicious wet battered fried chicken. I’ve had several menu items as I grew up near here. Never been disappointed in the food. However, the last several times that I’ve called ahead to order for a pickup, I’ve come to the store 20 mins later to find that they haven’t even started the order. This must be policy I guess. I guess it works if you want a small order but unfortunately I can no longer rely on them to cater family events. Pity

Do not be fooled by the appearance. Family owned by a brother and sister. Martha and Vincent took it over from there father who stated it in 1965. They are always working in their shop. They can make a great wing and with a lunch special at only $ 3.99. Great deals and great wings. And they cater to all events! They even delivery. Check it out.

gross.disgusting.don’t waste your money go to kfc… tastes horrible & bland. not to mention extra greasy

Chicken wings were ok… Not much sauce on the buffalo wings, we had to pour the sauce we already had at home on them to make them buffalo wings. Not the best wings we had ever had, they could have been better.

For less than $ 20 i can feed 6 people. Delicious chicken — I don’t know what the coating is but it sure fries up nice. They offer ribs, shrimp, soups, sandwiches, all kinds of ethnic (local folks) stuff, but the star here is the chicken. I pick it up at least once a month for dinner. I have even picked up the tray of 50 or 60 pieces becasue you cant make it yourself cheaper. Don’t Cook Tonight, Call Chicken Delight! A Chicken special is 12 pieces, fries or mashed, salad of your choice and rolls… can’t go wrong! I’ve always taken-​out but there are tables — good lunch time solution!

.Good chicken, good price, good home cooked meal

This place has been there for years from my understanding. Was in a pinch and needed fried chicken wings with waffles for breakfast. The wings were a lot better than I thought. I was worried about greasy and it was not. I will go now back because it is a good place to get chicken.
