Stopped there during our annual event at the Big E. The buffet was extensive, a lot of it on the fried side. The vegetable selections were were limited. The hibachi grille looked very good. We had a lot of food, for a reasonable price. As buffets go, it was better than most. We usually go to Debbie Wongs but passed it by this year because of a bad experience last year.

the selection of food is very diverse and some of it is delicious, while others are disgusting. some of the food is soggy and cold which definitely lowered my rating. however, i give the hibachi five stars. the hibachi noodles are to die for and full of flavor. you even get to pick all of your toppings and sauce. there isn’t very much for me to eat, but there’s enough that’s good(I’m a vegetarian).

It’s ok, it’s everything that you can expect from a Chinese buffett. I think that people have too high expectations from this place. It’s comparable to every Chinese buffet that I’ve been too. I will say that it’s much better for dinner. So if you in the mood for cheap greasy Chinese in a hurry this is the place for you.

Nippon is definitely the best buffet in the area with extremely good food and great sushi. This is a regular for us on our weekly #Humpdaydatenight always have a great experience. Wait staff is always prompt and polite. With such a wide range of food choices and they perfectly prepare everyone. And you can’t go without giving a mention to the hibachi chef who can prepare one of the best meals around. I will always recommend this as a must try if in the area.

Went there a couple of weeks ago and it was great. The food looked beautiful and there was lots of it. We misunderstood about the sushi and hibachi grill not being included in the all you can eat price — they are included! We had a taste of many Chinese offerings and they were all just fine. I saw a lot of people eating shrimp, but there were many dishes to try. Sweet and sour pork was okay. Anything that was a Chinese dish of meat with veggies was really pretty good. Going back asap. What a deal for about $ 8.50 per person plus tax. The American food looked good — just didn’t want to combine with Chinese. You could go here just for the American food and get all your regulars — meatloaf, mac cheese etc. Lots of dessert choices. I can’t understand older negative reviews except that they were a long time ago and probably things have changed. But this is a steam table concept so you have to expect that some food will sit there for a while. There are SOMANY offerings that you can just move over to something else. Impressed by how many fish choices too.

Great food and always a great selection. I would highly recommend that anyone in the area, especially if you’re on a tight budget, should check it out. Only thing I’ll say is that I wish they had a more extensive sushi selection.

You can’t beat the price and it’s probably the best quality Chinese food buffet that I have been to. Well, at least in this area. I think the selection is really good. Just about any item you could want is available and the quality is pretty good, like 6.5 out of 10. I recommend going when they open(10:30am). That’s when the food is most fresh and it’s not busy at all. If your looking for this place as a first date, wow, that would be pretty ghetto. However, I think a girl willing to go is a keeper +=

I’ve been here many times. The food is always decent, some days it’s better than others. I go for lunch, for $ 7.99 what do you expect? 5 star cuisine? Please. Sad or mad because you had to pay $ 1 more or .30 cents extra for per kid? Get over it you cheap bastards. Go to Wendy’s and get a «value meal» that SUCKS for $ 9. More buffet for me! They have great fish, salmon I enjoy their sushi. Plenty to check out for everyone.

I will never go there again. do you know they charge $ 3. more on a holiday but they do not tell you till you get the bill and if you ask why they say«we reserve the right to charge more on holidays with out listing on the sign or telling you.» and it cost $ 2.89 for a pot of hot water with 2 tea bags. The food is not all that good. but as some one said if you want to go any other time for $ 10.99 and fill up on a lot of not healthy, bad for you food go for it. I won’t. I feel not posting the price so you can decide if you want to go there is dishonest

I’m shocked at how gross this place was. I found hair in two different dishes– the pizza and the dumplings. They didn’t have individual tongs for each sushi selection. Yuck. Double yuck. Do not go here.

Horrible horrible horrible I will never eat here again. They were really rude and disrespectful food was nasty. They got mad at me for noticing that they over charged me then told my kids to line up at a door to see how tall they we’re. Very embarrassing and rude.

The quality of the food here is much worse than the interior appears: don’t let it fool you. $ 0.60 per piece of sushi to go? I’d rather buy off the McDonald’s dollar menu. The sushi is stale, everything is over-loaded with cream cheese. The rest of the food? I’m here during a busy lunch hour, on a Friday, and anything chicken is too breaded, hard and dry. Limited seafood options. Doesn’t every Chinese buffet have coconut shrimp? They do coconut chicken, and it’s a wash. I went through their four bars of Chinese and American foods, filled a plate with salmon, three types of chicken, rice, noodles, and had to toss half of it. So I figured hey, I’ll get a salad. But the only vegetables offered: lettuce and tomatoes. The only thing decent is the fresh fruit bar. The hibachi bar looks like it could be the selling point of this place. Their was no one behind the counter when I was here(on break maybe?)

I actually think the food is good for the price you pay. I wasn’t blown away, but was nicely surprised by the quality. It was overall better than the regular chinese buffets I’ve been to.

I recently had a hankering for what I like to call«Bad Chinese»…which is basically any AmeriChinese takeout that does not come from my usual tried and true source for that sort of cuisine. It doesn’t necessarily mean the food is bad, it just means it did not come from my favorite takeout joint. After part of a day spent in the doldrums that is the Riverdale Purgatory, I decided this place might satisfy my requirements for«Bad Chinese». It did. In a bad way. Most of the food I chose was fairly meh, and even though I refrained from gorging the way most of the other patrons in the place were, it still felt as if I ate a brick and I subsequently shat one mere moments later. It’s unlikely I’ll return here again. Bottom line, the place was clean enough, you know, for a buffet. Maybe I’m just not a fan of buffets. Check this place out if you’re into legitimate Bad Chinese, it won’t disappoint.

Worst buffet in my entire life. This buffet receives the honorary award of being the WORSTBUFFET in the entire country. Even Golden Corral buffet taste way better than this.

Food today was horrid, and then I got bait and switched on the price. Arrived at noon and had a coupon from a local mailer of theirs for $ 5.99 for lunch buffet with a drink purchase, so used that and they refused it. Reason: Sunday is ‘all day dinner buffet’ and that is a lunch coupon and wouldn’t honor it. The sol called manager wouldn’t do a single thing. I am going to dispute it with my credit card company, ~Paul

Nothing much to eat there, most of the stuff they serve are cheap quality, sushi not fresh and very awful. The management is very poor. Overall the only thing stand out from this buffet is the interior look other than that is a waste of money to eat there.

I kind of bumped into this place, Springfield was a stopover fro me on my way back from Canada. I checked another travel app to see what Japanese place was nearby. This is the closet one, which is across the road from my hotel. The place is quite large — by Washington DC standard. It is a buffet, on a weekday, for adult is only $ 11.99, you can eat as much as you eat. You don’t get those in DC very often, it is a la carte land. I myself is not crazy about buffet, I rather have a la carte. On that particular night– I just want to feed myself and go to bed and get an early start the day after. The place is located in a shopping mall. There are 5 – 6 food stations that are thematic. So one would be Chinese, one would be western(or American with roast beef …) There is a SUSHI counter and a HIBACHI counter. The sushi counter has all the sushi made already, you just go to pick it up, and the hibachi is another thing. You take a plate and put anything you want to put on the hot plate for the cook to cook for you. You can mix anything together, the chef will ask you what kind of sauce you like to use to go with whatever you picked. Everything was great except the sushi counter, the sushi is not really fresh, the fish look dull and some of them is very tiny… Oh the dumpling is so so only. For its price it is ok, some food are actually really good, especially the green beans, the roast beef and the fried tilapia, the rest are all good except the sushi. You can also just buy take out for a box depends on if it is just regular buffet, seafood buffet or all seafood or steak, various from $ 3.99 per lb to $ 6.99 per lb. It was packed on boxing day night. So the atmosphere was quite nice.

Nippon Grill is not going to serve you the best anything you ever had. But what they offer is tasty, plentiful and incredibly well priced. Nippon Grill also has a huge variety of offerings so it’s great for a large family, people who want to sample different things and picky eaters. The prices are awesome and you can usually get a coupon on top of that. If you eat sushi or hibachi it more than pays for itself, not to mention all of the other things there. They also have an interesting dessert selection including ice cream and this very simple but yummy graham cracker and whipped cream dish. I don’t go to the Nippon Grill to be wowed, I go there to eat fast, eat much and get a great value for some pretty good food. In those respects they do not disappoint.

Confucius say: you can only pick two out of the three. 1. Good 2. Chinese 3. Buffet It’s just a regular ol’ chinese buffet, erryone. Don’t be expecting something amazing.
